Went here this morning- the guy told me to take it back to where I got it serviced last year because it was missing the fuel evaporative canister and he could not do the check! This is NOT a quick, reliable smog service. Look for another smog business! I can guarantee this guy will play favorites and try to upsell any chance he gets. I complained to the owner and his response was "I don't care we do 60 cars per day". They have been known to fail cars (illegally) in order to charge for another smog test. Avoid at all costs!! Came in right at 3:00 on a beautiful Saturday with no appointment, which is when they cut off taking in new customers due to them closing soon. I knew there was a decent chance they would say no and tell me to come back Monday and I would have been fine with that, but they happily took me in, it was quick and easy, and the waiting room was comfortable and warm! I had a smog done here and they failed it do to excessive smoke coming out of the tailpipe wich is not true my car has never had any smoke problems. The only reason why I came here was because there is a $20 off DMV coupon online now I know why. And they still charged me $39. I had bought a brand new car out of state in Las Vegas and had it trucked here to Fresno. In order to finish the DMV paperwork to get it registered, they told me that they needed a smog certificate. I left the Blackstone DMV & came straight here. The guys got me right in and got it smoged in under 20 minutes. I left there to go back to DMV. SWINDLER ALERT!!! Do not take your car here. These guys failed my car errantly, said it passed emissions so I would pay, once I payed they pointed out they failed me due to aftermarket intake even though it had the CA Air Regulations Board (CARB) number stamped on it which I showed to them prior to testing and that they said wouldn't be a problem!! FULL ON SWINDLE JOB!!! I'll be reporting them to the BBB once I'm done typing this. Plenty of other honest shops in the area. read more

Awesome if your time isn't important and you like having it wasted. They brag about the fact that they don't take appointments, however when I arrived they dismissed me with a curt "sorry, we're all booked up". I'm happy to take my business elsewhere. Save yourself the trip. read more

I had to get my BMW "star certified" so I chose smog master on blackstone. It was easy to find the location, they have good signage. I had a hard time locating the office however as the have a tiny sign saying Office, and it is on the ground next to a door. I was not that happy with the sign on ground. However," Lew" was the guy that took care of my car and it was unbelievably quick, as Lew is a pro. I was in and out in 15 minutes that was quick!!!! Great place, gave me the coupon price of $20 bucks off without even asking, got me in and out in 45 minutes on a Saturday. Nice that they set up an air conditioned waiting room for the customers. Came shortly after they opened on a Saturday. No one was there, but a white couple did come shortly after me. They brought two cars and they were somehow serviced first and their car was done before my car was. That was annoying. But other than that, I got my car smogged within 20 min. I've used this facility for over 10 years, for 2 vehicles. My usual interaction is with Ronald, one of the technicians. Sharp, courteous. Best to call ahead to check out busy they are. Even with a line, they go through the cars as quickly as can be done. Smog stations are no fun. We have to go. And it's a very low-margin business. They have to further decrease the cost with coupons to be competitive. You will rarely find anything more than the basics in terms of a place to sit and wait. What you really want is to have confidence in the results. Because they are a check-only station, there is less incentive to distrust their findings, as they can't make repair referrals, by law. So, the best we can look for is a competitive price, and good service. They've got all that. And with 20 tests that I've had done there, they've been reliable. read more

I've taken my cars to Hossi's place on Blackstone Ave. since 2008. Every time I was treated well and felt I was dealing with very honest and upfront people.
