He claimed there was not enough time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It doesn't take 20 minutes to plug the computer into the car's DME (brain), pass it or fail it, and print the paper. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Apparently the shop is doing so well that they can turn customers away during business hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope his boss sees this and speaks to him about customer service. read more

I recently moved back to CA and had to smog all my vehicles. I was so pleased with the service I received at Smog 'N Go. i brought 3 cars here and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the guy that greeted me each time was super friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He explained what they would be doing, and asked me to wait in the waiting room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Each time I came here there was only 1 employee to check people in, drive their cars into the bay, answer phones and check people out. So he does get very busy. But was always friendly and officiant. The prices here are some of the lowest in the area, and you can use the $10 off coupon on your phone for as many cars as you want. I phoned ahead to confirm my vehicle's rate. It was the price shown on their site, $99.75 plus certificate $8.25. And I could use the $10 off coupon on their web site by showing the service writer the page on my phone. This was a better rate and earlier Saturday hours than where I've been going, so I thanked him. Then mentioned that I was really glad so-and-so told me to go here; this will really help. Upon hearing the person's name, he told me he could help me further. I don't like name dropping and I didn't do so to get a discount, but to pass the word of a good referral. So this was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone was wonderful - the man I spoke to on the phone, the service writer Shaunte, the Smog technician, it was a great experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also loved the large view windows that were perfectly clean, so I could see my truck. I was in and out in 45 minutes. There were two bays (3rd bay was not open) with cars on them and one vehicle arrived before me. Reasonable wait not requiring appointments. Go to Smog 'N Go and get your smog done. They have 5 Sacramento area locations from 2 in Elk Grove, 1 in Folsom, this location in Fair Oaks, and 1 in Rocklin. It'll be as good of an experience as it can be. They're star certified and if your vehicle fails, you can retest free within 90 days. Good stuff. read more

Took my car in and got it smuggled after getting a surprise letter from the dmv. I took my car in first thing on a Tuesday morning. This place is right around the corner from my house. Here is a breakdown of my review. Pros: 1. I was in and out in 25 minutes. 2. I passed 3. Quiet waiting area 4. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The customer service was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cons: 1. They request for you to leave your keys in your car and leave it running. Not a fan of that. 2. The price of the smog is $74 (not sure if that's the standard but it's kind of pricey in my opinion). 3. There was only one bay and one mechanic. 4. They didn't put my seat back in the original position. Bottom line: I would use them again. There's currently not a lot of options for Star certified smog. But so far, so good. I am disappointed in the services I received from this business...they incorrectly pinched my evap line causing my car to fail which I paid $150 to findout at a local auto body shop. Been using this location for years. Over the last two weeks we completed a standard smog on our van and a Star smog on my our car. In and out on a Saturday morning in under 20 minutes both times. I stopped by with seemingly unrealistic timing goals but they exceeded my expectations and then some! I was turned away from a different star certified smog station for not having a photo ID after waiting 45 mins to be served but they referred me here to Smog N' Go instead. When I walked in, I explained that I was trying to pick up my kids and get to the DMV with my smog certificate in less than an hour and they were able to get me done quickly enough that I was able to do so. I was visiting Sacramento and was planning to pass by the area. I called to ask about appointments, but they said they can't accommodate any, "it's walk-in only". I was worried I might have to wait long, but they really beat my expectations! Although all the lanes were busy, the lane was moving fairly quick. I was checked in while my vehicle was in the process of being inspected, and the entire process took maybe 10 to 15 minutes. read more

I came in here to get my truck smog and it didn't pass the first time because of the evap hose and everything else was good and I asked the guy if he had any recommendations where I can take the truck to get fixed and he recommend Anthony's auto care. So took the truck there got it fixed went back did the test and it pass. They had a really good customer service I do recommend coming here. They do offer a re test if the smog fail. read more

Took my car in to get smog tested, and my car failed. It had a cracked Air Intake boot. The staff was able to IDENTIFY the part that was causing it to fail (cracked air intake hose or air intake boot) and MARKED where it was cracked. I was able to buy a replacement part and easily install it myself with a few wrenches. The original part TORE IN HALF when it was removed. My car now accelerates smoother and drives better than it has been for roughly a year. Smog N' Go has very knowledgeable and helpful staff that will go the extra mile. read more

I've brought 3 vehicles in for smog so far this year. All 3 times I received bad customer service. Not non existent customer service - I received straight up awful customer service from the person who runs the office where the customer waiting area is. The good thing is I can take a lifetime of business elsewhere and that's what I will do. Smog shops are available everywhere and while all my vehicles require smog every other year, customer service is the only thing these types of businesses can use to set themselves apart from other smog shops. read more

The Smog n Go Website proudly proclaims; "Faster and More Efficient". "Our Motto is "In and Out in a Hurry". "We can smog most vehicles in less than 15 minutes, and it's rare to wait more than half an hour, even when we are busy". This statement is about as miss-leading as you can get. When I dropped off my car with five cars ahead of me, I was given a one and one-half hour estimate for completion. In reality, it took three hours to complete. Don't waste your money, and especially your time. Even though they exclaim they have multiple bays for testing, only one was operational. Perhaps they should look into hiring additional technicians or change their web-site to be more accurate. There are other SMOG stations everywhere. Don't bother with Smog n Go. read more

There is a long line around the building and he is stuck on one car. This place is garbage. If I wasn't stuck in line, I would leave and go somewhere more knowledgeable. Eh... It's been a few months: the car passed the actual testing portion, but then the guy that was testing the car marked it as a fail due to 'seeing smoke out of the tailpipe'. Of course I took his word for it, thanked him for his time, paid and left. I took the car to my mechanic and he didn't see anything to be concerned about... I'll believe the word of someone being paid to find things wrong with your car so he could be paid more to fix whatever problem is. So after thinking harder and harder about the events at the smog shop, I've just come to decide that the smog technician had no idea what he was talking about. Even though I had a free retest, I took the car to a different smog shop, I told them the entire story so they looked at the car even more closely for the the visual inspection and they said "no your car passed- I have no idea why it failed the first time". This shop needlessly put me out about $200 more (between diagnostic with the mechanic that found nothing and going to a new smog shop that passed the car totally fine) all because the technician made a claim he saw smoke. For the record, the car still doesn't smoke, 3-4 months later. It's a shame because I don't want to go from 5 stars a couple years ago to 1 star now, but $200 is $200, on top of the original smog fee which is like what, $65? On top of time spent to deal w this from start to finish... Not acceptable. read more

Took my car in to get smogged 8/2/22 10 minutes before they closed. They said they would still take me and smog my car. Victor was the one who did the smog test and came back and said I failed because of something about my air intake boot or something. They charged $50 but said they "gave me a $10 certificate" but then another fee added that $10 back on. Their $10 discount makes no sense. I do not know much about smogging a car but this failed test seemed unusual and unlikely for my new car. The next day I took it in to another mechanic and smog place and immediately passed the smog test with absolutely nothing wrong with my car. I called this business back to let them know and they refused to issue a refund or do anything at all. I would not recommend or trust this business. After this happened, I read their other reviews and this same exact thing has happened to multiple other people. Do not trust this business or get your car smog here, they do not seem to be legit or trustworthy. This same guy Victor who did my smog is the same guy in the other reviews who has done this to other people. read more

Took some time off to get car smog checked. Get there at 1pm and was told they are all hungry and want to go to lunch so to come back another time. I ask if this is when they go to lunch every day. She says you never know. It just depends on how busy they are. My suggestion is to be open during business hours. read more

Worst, rudest people I've ever encountered with a local business. I paid in full for a smog test and had to come back to have a code tested again after driving it for a week and they would not help me unless I paid all over again. Totally unethical and super rude. I ended up walking out and taking my business elsewhere after the lady raised her voice and got nasty. I would suggest you never give them any of your money. They are rip off artists. read more
