I thought okay let me find one near me via Yelp and it took me to a place that changed ownership and no longer could do the STAR Certified smogs. On the road again and I remembered a place by where I grew up that was there as long as I could remember (over 50 years) on the corner of San Juan Avenue and Winding Way. So off I went to see if they did STAR Certified Smogs. YES! They did! The wait was short and the two gentlemen Ezekiel and Kristopher were awesome! I gave my keys to Ezekiel and off he went to do my Smog so in the meantime I sat and chatted with Kristopher since it was slow for them that morning. Time flew by so fast and Ezekiel was back with my keys letting me know I passed! YAY! I'm so happy that I went there yesterday morning. I had the best conversations with those two young men and left happier than I was when I showed up. Do yourself a favor and just go to San Juan Auto Smog!! I bought a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change at a great price and booked what I thought was a 9am appointment. When I showed up, the man at the front desk, Ezekiel, checked the schedule and said it showed 8:30. I let him know that couldn't be right because I'm dropping my son off at school at that time, so it must have been a scheduling mistake. He was extremely kind about it, apologized, and didn't try to make it seem like it was my fault. He immediately said the scheduler must have entered it wrong. I asked if he still had time to take me, and even though he had another appointment coming in soon, he said he would try to get mine done quickly. He even called the next customer to see if they could come a little later, and then got started on my car right away. While I was waiting, several customers came in and it got pretty busy. Ezekiel was running back and forth between the office, the garage, and the phone, but he stayed calm, friendly, and helpful the whole time. He still finished my oil change quickly and got me back on the road. Ezekiel provided amazing customer service, and overall it was a great experience. My boyfriend called to make sure this place was open (at 2:00pm) and they said yes. He says "ok see you in 20" and then when he arrives there's a sign on the door that says "be back at 3pm" he left the house at 3pm and arrived AGAIN at 3:15 and of course, no one is there. There was also a line of people waiting. Seems wild to me that you would 1. Not mention over the phone that you would be closed in 20 mins when he said he would be there. And 2. Be closed over an hour in the middle of the day with no notice. And 3. Literally throw away money. So instead he will be going to Rancho on his way to work. THEY DO MOTORHOMES!!! ...not sure about ALL motorhomes but mine is a typical E450 Ford van cutaway chassis with a C class coach. So many shops will NOT inspect them or advertise that they do till you show up with one then it's the "we don't do motorhome story" what a PITA. The folks at SJSmog do like a bit of a heads up that you're bringing one in... William did the inspection and he was great... personable and friendly. When it came time to pay I could not locate my wallet and he patiently worked with me to find options... which turned out to be my phone on an app that I had not used before and just needed to finish setting it up. Purchased a Groupon for San Juan Auto Smog. Came into to get my truck smog tested. The lady at the desk, was very friendly, checked me in quickly. You can wait inside but the office is small about 6 chairs. Or you may chose to wait outside or in your vehicle until they are ready. Both employees were wearing masks. *TIP* make sure to grab your mileage before coming into the shop. Service was quick and tech explained my test since we failed :( Lesson learned if your battery has died or been changed within 100 miles, wait on getting your smog done. We had a dead battery 2 days prior. Luckily the Groupon had a free retest within 60 days, Yeah!! Came back in about 3 weeks later and passed with flying colors. The wait was alittle long this time around as there is only one test bay and they had a few people in front of me.
