When I was given my paperwork to fill out I was given a brand new pen which might seem like a big deal but in this day and age that's important and then I was told to keep it so know no other customer was going to have to touch what I used and I feel safe knowing that only I used the pen I took out of the package.. they take their customers safety serious . The guys were fantastic at this place of business! They have my business for life. I needed a fast smog they required no appointment so after I called them I drove over about 20 minutes later. They greeted me nicely and even provided a $20.00 discount so instead of paying $59.95 the discount of $20.00 with the Smog certificate and taxes the final cost for the Smog check was $48.20. I didn't feel like these guys were trying to pull anything over on me which has happened in other auto places just because I am a woman. The wait was like 15 minutes and then I was out the door. It was easy to find and close to the freeway. I would absolutely recommend SMOG PROS to anyone who wants a quick, fairly cheap, safe and non stressful experience. Doesn't even deserve that high of a score ..the owner is really nice, but the tech ran a smog on my 1998 jeep and failed it, saying it needed 2 catalytic converters, I took it to Wally's world of mufflers and he said its stock, it only has one catalytic converter and no place for a second one, I made an appointment for the referee and decided to stop back at Smog Pros to see if I needed to get a refund for the smog or take the smog report to the referee, the tech ran in and was really tacky.. take to referee! take to referee! The owner heard this and came out and decided to check my jeep for me, he then called Wally, who explained to him everything and then called a dealership in which when he ran the vin # was told my jeep only had one catalytic converter, the owner called the tech in and told him this and said to me, that if it was up to him he would pass it, but the tech wants it to go to the referee.. well I hope the referee can get back to Smog Pros and tell them they need to get their techs in classes or get someone in there that knows what they are doing, I will never do business here ever again.. I just read a review that a person had best service, sat in a cool room and offered a drink and snacks... that's a laugh, the room has 2 chairs tight together and front door and door leading to garage open.. its a tiny room mainly to get the order going and then you go outside and wait... these people who are leaving 5 stars are probably their friends.. I did find a different place that does smog now.. ARS (Auto Repair Specialist) in La Mesa and they have the best customer service I have ever experienced, Danny is awesome and Janice and Jade will do their best to make your visit so good you will want to return, we know who has my business from now on...Wally's World of Mufflers is a great place too read more

Posted hours list smog test to be open on Sunday. It was not. I returned this afternoon only to be turned away because they were too busy and couldn't finish before they closed.. They also argued with what their website hours are also listed insisting they were closed.. instead of accomodating, I was turned away.. read more

It was nice to go to a smog test place with a 1997 Corolla with no shenanigans on the part of the business whatsoever. The person at the counter and the technician were both friendly. They honored their Yelp check in special with zero problems. They did not charge extra for a car that was made in the last millennium. Fortunately it was not needed since my car passed, but they do offer a free retest within 30 days. read more

This place is a total scam. Had my smog checked and it failed. Brought it back a week later after having the dealer make necessary repairs and they would not re-do the smog for free. They asked for a paper that I was never given in the first place and said they could not do it for free unless I had it. I had the credit card receipt and the smog receipt that they gave me but this was not good enough. I left and went somewhere else. read more

Very fast and great service. I got a Star Certified smog check today after a "failed" test from Precision Tune in El Cajon (sketchy, greedy people) and my car passed. Only waited about twenty minutes and they were very helpful and informed me that Precision Tune's smog machine is out-dated and tests things that aren't required to be tested....which was the only thing my car did not pass with their machine. read more

No appointment needed. Just stop by. Everything took about 20 minutes. Smog is $50 + $10 for certificate and fees. I had a $20 credit from smogcheckdeals.com so I ended up paying $40. My 1999 Toyota Solara passed the first time. Sal was very friendly. read more

I have also been going here for years. I have two vehicles and one is a 1995 Camry, which never has any problems passing. These guys are always very fast - it only took 15 minutes today! - and there is a coupon for $10-$15 off, which they will send to you regularly once you've been there. The shop is not in the best location, but the work is fast and good. read more

I have been going here for years. They have always been very helpful and done a good job. They have helpped me with an old 1977 winnebago motorhome to my newer 2005 ford F-150. Always do a good job. Once the motorhome failed, they made suggestions to try before I retested and on the retest it passed. read more
