Terrible service. I have my smog certificate in hand from them as I'm writing this, so no one thinks it's because of a failed smog. (& check my other reviews, this is the first negative one) First off, I've been here multiple times before and will never return again. I've dealt with Mickey before, such a genuine and helpful guy. I came in 2 months ago to smog my Nissan GTR, a younger gentleman took care of me, also very helpful and quick. I went in to smog my truck yesterday and a different guy was there. I think only 3 people work there, Mickey who I believe is the owner, A young guy(early 20s), and now this guy who will not be named. (Because if I name him, the owner can ask YELP to remove this review, and I'll do everything to assure this review stays on.) This guy was extremely rude, patronizing, condescending, and literally took care of all the customers that came in AFTER me , before he took care of me. He told me it would take 20-30 mins, I was there for OVER an HOUR AND HALF. Everything was fine when I got there. I sat down and waited with another gentleman who had already been there waiting for his car and the gentleman started a conversation with me. Somewhere in the conversation, the worker over heard us and "Butted" into the conversation with his own negative and aggressive opinion. I respectfully told him we weren't talking to him, and he literally blew up. Like I kid you not, this guy can't control himself. I wouldn't doubt if he will end up with a criminal record one day, if he doesn't already have one. Like he seems like the type of guy to beat his wife for the food being cold. Terrible, this kinda person should not be in front of a business in a professional environment. Somewhere along the lines, MICKEY was brought up. This worker literally said "I don't care about Mickey, I don't care what Mickey says." It got to the point that the only way for me to get him to stop attacking me was by saying "can you just please do your job?" I guess that didn't set right with him, so he decided to make me wait for EVERYONE ELSE to be done and smogged and leave before he took care of me, when I say everyone else, I mean the people that came in AFTER I did. It's not like I'm expecting special treatment to be taken care of first, but how rude to take care of people that came in AFTER me first. Needless to say, I unfortunately won't be giving my business here anymore and neither should you. Even if you get that coupon in the mail, trust me you might send up spending more time than the money you'd save. Plus $50 for a smog is a lot I found out. You go to a restaurant because they have good food. You go to a store because they have nice things. When it comes to a business that all you need is a smog check, and there is no quality required to the work, where the outcome will be the same regardless of what shop you go to, I say take your business else where. Don't take the risk with this place. Just google "Smog place" on google maps and you'll find a better shop within walking distance that's cheaper. (I can't say the name of the shop or else yelp could remove this review lol) It's sad that Mickey, such a nice person, has to lose my business, as well as the gentleman that I was having the conversation with, all because his employee doesn't know how to act in society and control himself and mind his own business. read more

I went here a couple months ago to get both my cars tested. They were very courteous and are lowered car friendly. It was very quick and easy. I would recommend these guys. Also check the local paper for coupons, it may also be good to make an appointment if you are coming in during the weekend, they get pretty busy when I was there. read more

Called ahead for a smog check and they said the price was $35. When they were done working on my car, they charged me $65. I insisted on the original price agreed over the phone and they went back down to $35 as if it was no big deal/a small mistake. Most every smog shop only retest for free if you have repairs done there. I looked at more than a dozen and they all say the same thing! These people are honest and if they wanted to they could have taken advantage of this older car I just purchased and knew little about. The owner explained to me how once the computer is hooked up to the car data is transmitted to State and the parameters are set by them. Half way thru the test I asked is it kicked out yet? He explained the data keeps transmitting until complete so they have no way to alter the test and do not know results until complete. It took 20 minutes and I was done. He even took competitors coupon and I will always use them! read more

In a business were u have to give customers bad news when they dont pass smog test the staff was very polite and friendly. Also very informative about what needs to be done with dmv for entire smog process. I take all my vehicles there for smog testing never had issues with company. My vehicle did not pass last time and i was worried. The helpful staff made process painless told me what to fix to pass. Great experience. The only plus side that I like in this place is that they do the smog quick, about 15 min. The guy Samuel doesn't look very personable . He looks scary even when he talks. Doesn't make you feel comfortable. I went in with a coupon for $25! Yay! As we know smog cost around $39 . So at the end I gave him the coupon, he took the discount off but then he told me, their regular smog check cost is $51!! So minus the discount and tax , guess what it totalled back to $40! I opened my annual DMV renewal envelope to learn that I need a smog test. My 2011 Honda is no longer a "new" vehicle. Getting one's car smogged is equivalent to getting a root canal....in other words, NO fun. I had gone to Smog Stop with my previous car and was satisfied, so I decided to go there again today. I showed up on a Wednesday at 1:35 p.m. without an appointment. There was one person waiting in the chairs and another lady came in right behind me. Otto, who waited on me and apparently inspected my car, wasn't the warmest, fuzziest person on the planet, but he was efficient and after thinking a moment, agreed to honor my competitor's coupon. So my total price was $45, a discount of $20. The lady behind me had one of Smog Stop's coupons for $45, so he met the price. That made me happy. I asked how long it would take and he said about 25 minutes, so I walked across the street to 24 Hour Fitness and rode the upright bike for 30 minutes. When I came back, my car was finished. I paid cash to avoid the $1 credit card fee (!) and was on my way. I recommend Smog Stop, especially if you have a coupon. read more
