We had a nice time dining here for a birthday! It's part of the casino's hotel on the 19th floor, so it is a walk to get there from the parking garage. Wish I grabbed a picture of the views, it was really nice. The food was fresh and pretty good, but portions are small for some of the appetizers and dishes. The service was nice, and the dining area was very clean and beautiful. Be prepared to spend!

Where do I start? This place has totally blew my option of a fancy resturant. I normally dont like fancy resturants due to I feels like I'm out of place. This place does not make you feel like that. People are friendly and very helpful on every question we asked without making me feel like a fool. I know it's pricey but I'm willing to pay foe this place because such and beautiful experience. All fancy resturans should come here and learn how to treat customers. We came here for the Tomahawk steak and it did not disappoint. Presentation was great and the food was wonderful. From start to finish with the complementary chocolate truffle and the amouse bouche, it was simply perfection.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary dining experience here. Roof top outdoor seated! It's selling wine and dine vibes. A man playing the piano. Glass windows to see creates a great view regardless of where you're seated. Greeted by staff with smiles. Clean restrooms. The menu offers so many options that had my tastebuds confused on what to order. The dishes we selected did not disappoint. The warm bread came with a nice cream butter. They were hosting a VIP event during our visit and our food was still provided in a timely manner. Great choice!!!!

FINE DINING AT MUCKLESHOOT STEAKHOUSE. Unlike some of the bistros at this casino, the quality of our dining experience was commensurate with the steep price. The restaurant is located on the top 19th floor of the hotel tower with breathtaking views of the forest beyond the town. The dining environment is nicely appointed in a romantic relaxing atmosphere with tasteful soothing lighting. We ordered drinks which took a little longer than expected and I think they may have been understaffed. Our meal began with some tiny Hors d'oeuvres on little toasts. We also had a very attractive bread service delivered to our table which we also waited too long for. I was a little disappointed that they have no draft beer and can only offer it from a can. The waiter explained that there was some issue with trying to bring draft beer up from the keg room 19 floors below us. Well even I could tell you that would never work, but the managment may consider having a keg or two on the same floor. Just saying. Other than that they have a full bar and an excellent and extensive wine list as well as many speciality and top shelf liquors, so, no star deductions. For appetizers I ordered the American Caviar and my wife ordered the Hamachi Crudo. which is basically sashimi. We both had some. My wife was not thrilled about hers and I had to agree that the lemon purée was not appropriate for this dish and added a sweetness that did not compliment the otherwise citrus flavor of the sauce on the fish. My caviar was quite good and I was served an entire jar of it in a small iced cup which unfortunately quickly melted and my jar tipped over in it and my caviar became swamped. My bad. It was also served with traditional chive pancakes and curious little vegetable cakes that resembled cut roll sushi. I was not sure if I was supposed to put some caviar on these or were they there to clean the palette ? For Entrees my wife had the Braised Beef Short Rib. It came on the bone and fell right off as a short rib should. She enjoyed it thoroughly. I ordered from the Prime menu and decided on the 8 oz Rib Cap $90. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was indeed a "prime" cut and was tender and flavorful and not over seasoned. I ordered a baked potato with it and all the fixings. It too was perfect. Just a note. The Rib Cap is a fatty cut. So after cutting most of the fat away you are left with less than 8oz, but this is to be expected so no star deduction. We were fully sated and had no room for dessert. All told we had a good time and most of the food was delicious. As always I start with five stars. I should probably deduct a half star for the drink wait. Fine restaurants should always deliver your first round within five minutes of being seated. I will also deduct 1/2 star for my wife's Crudo. The purée did not complement the dish. That said, I am awarding. Healthy four stars. Five are definitely within reach and I shall endeavor to visit this restaurant again. I also recommend it highly as it may be the best restaurant Muckleshoot has to offer. Excelsior and Cheers!

    The view.

I'm not much of a casino fan but several of my friends and colleagues recommended this restaurant. Perched atop the Muckleshoot Hotel and Casino is a gem of a restaurant that I wish I'd known about sooner. Because of where we'd parked, we had to access the steakhouse via the elevator at the casino. I'm not sure if there is another entrance or not. Once the elevator doors opened to the 19th floor, my casino memories quickly vanished and we were greeted with an incredible view of Mount Rainier. I did my best to capture that view with my iPhone but it just didn't do the real view any justice. Hint: Arrive before sunset. The ambience is much more than I expected from a casino restaurant. The waitstaff is friendly, professional and attentive. Tatiana was our server and she encouraged us to take photos, walk around on the outside deck and explore. The cuisine is inventive and delicious and the presentation is beautiful. Our first course: fresh oysters in the half shell. They were some of the best oysters I've had in a while. The temperature was perfect and the grated horseradish and raspberry vinaigrette were the perfect accompaniments. My main course was the Leek Ash Crusted Venison Loin with a huckleberry compote. Excellent! The dessert? The Flaming Baked Mount Rainer, of course! Take the rest home and keep it in the freezer if there are only two of you. It feeds 4 - 6 guests, honestly. It's delicious! The price, honestly, isn't as expensive as one would think. El Goucho and Daniel's Broiler are much more "pricey". This being said, we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend Smoke and Cedar. I'm giving it a 10 out of 10, despite the casino.

Great steaks. Filet mignon was excellent. Fresh baked bread to start. High end finishes of restaurant. Nice views. On the 19th floor of the hotel.

My two friends and I decided to pop into Smoke & Cedar for a late night dinner on a Wednesday and sat at the bar. The bartender was so fun and delightful and our food came out pretty quickly. The steak was ok not the best. We had a side of lobster gnocchi and asparagus. The ambiance inside of the restaurant was so pretty and if it was warmer in season the outdoor patio would be beautiful.

Mediocre steak restaurant with a beautiful view. We celebrated our anniversary by renting a room at the resort and plan to indulge ourselves with a delicious dinner at Smoke and Cedar. It was a flop.. Other than the beautiful view and ambiance I find no other reason to return. The service was okay. Our server was nice but he had an unwelcoming, judging vibe. Complimentary delicious bread with a light, airy whipped butter. The food took awhile and the restaurant was less than half capacity. *Wedge salad and wild mushroom ravioli as appetizer and they were good, decent. The fried squash in the ravioli dish was delicious and added a lovely crunch, saved the dish. *Bone- in ribeye was cooked to the perfect temperature of medium rare. We added the blue cheese topping. If you're a blue cheese fan, you'll love it. There were 2 unedible garnishes that were served with the steak. A very dry, hard puff pastry. Best I can describe is a bad Yorkshire pudding or cream-less dense cream puff. The other garnish was a grilled onion with its root and skin still on. I understand the vision, but it looks tacky and cheap when served. Not something to be expected at a restaurant with this price point. Guess it's interactive and you get to peel the onion if you want to enjoy it. It did give my boyfriend and I a really good laugh how ridiculous the plating was. *sides were the mac n cheese and sautéed mushrooms. The Mac n cheese was soupy, slight cheese taste and lacked seasoning. We asked the server if it was okay to be sent back. The mushrooms I wished I had sent back. For $16, no thank you. The mushrooms were cooked a bit too long, the main flavor was unbalanced salty soy sauce, no umami and not impressive. Crème brûlée was delicious, thank goodness. They also give complimentary dark chocolate dessert at the end. It was okay. Server also packed up our leftovers in a nice reusable tote. Around $200, not including tip. Glad I experienced it, but not worth a 2nd visit.

Newest addition to the Muckelshoot Casino on the 19th floor roof top restaurant. Beautiful view of Mount Rainier and if you're there at sunset, the sunlight hitting the mountain is breathtaking. The food was ok for the price. With prices like that, I was expecting exceptional taste. The French Onion Soup, despite "onion" being in the name, it was too much onion. There was more onion than soup. Did have a good taste though. Bread was soft and tasteful. Nice touch with the sprinkle of salt on top. The steak was where I wasn't fully impressed. For the price of that Rib Eye, I was expecting melting in my mouth pieces. Service wasn't the greatest. Had to continue to remind our server about a drink we ordered and we're still waiting for the fresh ground pepper.

The rooftop restaurant has an amazing view and the seating is stacked so there is no bad seat in the restaurant. The food was amazing. We ordered the French onion soup, wedge salad, ribeye steak, asparagus and loaded baked potato. They bring out a complimentary appetizer two cucumber slices with a beet topping, bread and a small desert. The meat is from local family farms without antibiotics or hormones. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive.

The fancy knives that I was warned over and over about being "exceptionally sharp" as if I were a small child unable to use cutlery.
    Cristina M.

Food: 4/5 Good Service: 3/5 Okay Ambiance: 3/5 Cozy and Eclectic, but a bit dirty. The whole experience was ok, with a few pitfalls. The food was good, but certainly not worth the price. The service fell far short of the goal to be the "best steakhouse in the northwest." While the server was attentive, she was annoyingly so. I think my tipping point was being lectured on how sharp the custom made knives were. I am an adult, I understand how to use cutlery and it was the most condescending thing any server has ever had the audacity to say to me more than once. It's like she expected me to literally ignore basic common sense. I admit, that my expectations are based on eating at a lot of fine dinning establishments but also on my own family and their experience in the service industry. I grew up with my father managing a few very fine restaurants in the Seattle area and so I have heard what his estimations on good service look like all my life. It felt almost like the server was attempting something and attempting it well, but just not quite hitting the right notes. Like an amateur singing Mariah Carey at Christmas time, a good try, but they just aren't a professional. Like going to a community theater event, the actors are good, but not good enough to be paid for their work. That was how the service felt from the moment I walked out of the elevator. What should have been a graceful dance was more like a funeral dirge. The reservation seemed like it didn't matter, the host was almost curt but not in a "this is a fancy place" way but more of a, "I just don't care about you" way. The chairs and tables in the lounge that I was asked to wait at were dirty, the cocktail waitress (or possibly the bartender?) ignored me and the mess of empty drinks that were clearly not mine on the table in front of a surprising comfortable chair. Again, you can see the dichotomy, great furnishings made moot by poor bussing and people management. There are few things that turn me off more than being asked to sit at a dirty table and wait when I took the time to make a reservation and then not even being offered a drink while having to sit and look at a table littered with half empty glasses of who knows what. It was sort of disgusting that I was about to pay for this experience. The phrase that keeps coming to mine while writing this review is "a Mickey Mouse organization". It's like they want to be Vegas but they can't even manage to put signs up downstairs directing you to this "high class" restaurant. I honestly could go on for a few dozen more paragraphs about everything that was wrong with this piss poor excuse for a fine dinning establishment but honestly I am just tired of dwelling on what was an almost 300 dollar waste of time. I would have been better off loosing the same amount of money at the craps table downstairs because at least then I would have had a good experience. Save yourself the time and money, go elsewhere.

My husband enjoying a cocktail and appetizers

The service is impeccable and the food is top notch h, very delicious. I have had the salmon a couple times done perfectly. My husband usually has the filet Mignon it is very tender and cooked the way you order it. The asparagus side is amazing. We usually split the baked potato it is very large and we have it loaded. It is very good. They do seem a bit stingy with their wine pours i always order by the glass and it is a little spendy and seems like a light pour compared to other high end restaurants. The view when it is clear outside is spectacular.

Brunch, Special menus for holidays, dinner, cocktails, dessert-it has all been top notch. This is a gem. Menu changes regularly so there is always something fresh and new. Prices may seem a little high for the area but the food and drink justify it. On my most recent visit we got 2 appetizers, two entrees (one was steak with shrimp add on), 3 desserts, and 5 cocktails for $250 which was not outrageous. Portion sizes are great. Food is full of flavor and cooked perfectly. We have sat on the restaurant side a few times but normally sit in a booth on the bar side. There is also a small patio off the bar in good weather. Bartenders are friendly and engaging. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Only reason I knocked it a half star is the service on the bar side can be slow or feel forgotten about sometimes but it just depends on the time of day and if the bartender is having to do double duty or if they have dedicated wait staff in that area.

When we walked in, we had the option of going to the bar area or restaurant. We chose the bar. The place was spacious and had ample seating. We sat down and a gal came to our table to ask for our order. She immediately came off as very standoffish, but, all good, we were there to relax and enjoy. We ordered wings to start off with. Mind you, it was happy hour which she mentioned herself. Cool, thank you. The wings were decent but some were soggy. But it's all good. We then ordered an entree and more wings because we were hungry. Did another dozen wings in the buffalo sauce. Our waitress, Kalidawn, reiterating the wings were 2 orders. Didn't make sense but it did in the end as she was trying to separate the orders as "half orders" to charge more? When in reality, it was the same buffalo flavor for the dozen wings so it wasn't a "half order". Really? You're going to do all of that to get you an extra few dollars? She was already rude, dismissive, and bothered from the beginning. We try to look past these things but she was truly excessive. It's like she wanted to make a statement and hated that we weren't regulars. We ended up getting sick after eating here. The service was beyond disappointing and the food sucked, but we also got sick which was the cherry on the cake. We will never be back and hope others think twice. And to find out, Kalidawn is the manager at the restaurant. So don't even bother trying to complain about her horrible HORRIBLE service and attitude. She runs the place which makes sense as to why I'm sure they're struggling. Do better.

My husband isn't the biggest seafood fan, so I didn't think it would be the best choice for the two of us. Turns out, I was completely wrong! I ordered the crab-crusted sirloin, and it was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly, the crab topping was delicious, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully. It also came with shrimp, which were good, although I think I would have preferred them grilled instead. The asparagus was perfectly cooked as well. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the rice pilaf. It had a floral flavor that just wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, but next time I'll probably substitute it for another side. My husband lucked out because they had a smoked chicken thigh sandwich on special that day. It was made with pulled smoked chicken thigh and a house-made peach barbecue sauce. I didn't try it myself, but he absolutely loved it and said it was excellent. One thing I also noticed was the food coming out to the surrounding tables. The woman next to us ordered one of the burgers with a side salad instead of fries, and honestly, both looked incredible. The side salad was surprisingly large and looked fresh and delicious. The decor inside is nice, especially with the main big TV in the dining area. This place could be a hit for any Seahawks game if you get there early enough. Service took a little bit in the beginning, but our food and drinks came in orderly fashion so no complaints there. Menu has a nice variety for everyone. I do like their seafood selection, they have a good range of cooked and raw. Prices are a little high but that's normal for casinos to upcharge. We got the lobster roll and Caesar salad with shrimp. Definitely getting the salad with shrimp again, the shrimp was sautéed in butter and garlic and the salad was refreshing. Lobster roll had a good size amount of lobster but it tasted dry, it was missing something but I couldn't put my finger on it. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back for a quick bite and a nice tall glass of draft beer/cider

The restaurant was small but there were outdoor seatings to accommodate the crowds. Parking can be tricky, but we were able to get one without any issues. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a friendly worker who took our order. Glancing at the menu, we knew what to order. We decided to try their carne asada tacos and al pastor tacos. For drinks, we decided to get the strawberry horchata and Mexican coke. I really enjoyed their strawberry horchata as it tasted like a strawberry shortcake. They have a coconut flavor one which I might try next time. After ordering, we grabbed a table by the salsa bar. I like how the salsa bar is self-served so you can have unlimited toppings. Overall, the tacos came out fast and were bomb! They give you a lot of meats on each tacos. Did I mention the meats were high quality? I guess that justified the cost. The meats were nicely charred flavor. Very similar to how they grilled their meats at their other location. I will for sure be coming back for the good food and vibes!

The staff is always friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile every time. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the portions are solid they're not skimpy at all. The meats are juicy and full of flavor, and the tripas are cooked perfectly crispy, just how they should be. They also have a great sauce and toppings area with lots of choices, so you can customize everything exactly how you like it. Plus, they even offer bone marrow, which you don't see everywhere. Overall, this is easily the best taco spot in the area in my opinion. Definitely a go-to if you're craving good tacos

The drinks came out fast and were HUGE!! In the big mugs. Definitely quenched your thirst. The non alcoholic ones looked so flirty so I had to get one. The chicken fried steak was absolutely fantastic--perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and smothered in delicious gravy. It was everything you want in a classic comfort dish and then some. I really liked the steamed veggies that it came with. 10/10. I also tried the turkey club on Ciabatta bread, which was equally outstanding. Loaded with fresh ingredients, it was flavorful, hearty, and super filling--definitely satisfied my craving! 10/10 It was busy for a hot Sunday which I didn't expect. The service was still excellent! Portions are generous, the atmosphere is lively and family-friendly (love the peanut shells on the floor touch), and everything came out hot and fresh. Whether you're craving steaks, comfort food, or a solid sandwich, Jimmy Mac's delivers. If you're in Federal Way, do yourself a favor and stop by. I'll definitely be back soon!

Loved the concept of grabbing a bowl of peanuts at the front and tossing the shells on the floor. Service was great, and our waitress was really kind and attentive even though she was covering a lot of tables. The food came out delicious. The complimentary bread and butter was enough to make me like the place and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We shared the onion rings (can't go wrong with that), and I ordered the Smokin Combo. Portion sizes were great and I had enough for leftovers. The meat was tender, juicy and full of flavor. Great value for the price.

The Host staff seemed confused, but they got us seated for our 6:30 reservation by 6:40 (plenty of tables were available). The restaurant looks sort of like a dispirited college dining hall. We were seated but weren't provided with any roll-ups, containing silverware. After a while, though, we were each given a paper napkin -- that was nice. The menu looks as though it was selected by somebody who has just stopped trying. When our waiter came by, she was cheerful, but I suspect that was in recognition that we'd need cheering up just from the fact that we were sitting there. The wine options are few; we tried two of them -- neither was what I would call good, let alone very good. We sent one back and asked for a whisky sour in its place. Our waiter looked at us with suddenly sad eyes and told us that the quality of the mixed drinks really wasn't very good but that if we didn't like it, she'd be happy to take it off the bill. The food arrived after a long wait. It was. . . OK. Definitely edible! Time for the check, and I asked our waiter to take the whisky sour off the bill. She brightened up! Good news! She had never put it on there in the first place, as she knew it wouldn't be any good. Will we return to Muckleshoot Restaurant? No. Just, no. Never. Please, no.
