This is coming from a Texan who knows good TX BBQ and is not a place to order burnt ends, but it is Better than expected on Washington. I had to give there actual bbq plate a try I know prepped their meat, and I put them at a disadvantage ordering the burnt end but I did order wagyu which has more marbling but it was still dryer than it should be. It still wasn't bad and they have a good jalapeno bbq sauce. I'd cut them some slack for brisket but the big disappointment was the mac and cheese. They cook there noodles and then add there queso which sounds good, except the noodles where dry and not properly coated in the queso. I would still give the dish a 7 out of 10 because of the sausage and the best brussels sprouts was the saving grace. I've been here a few times always gettin sat at the bar and the service is probably the biggest issue. The bartenders are nice but it can take a bit of time to get service.

This was my first time coming and trying the food, it was great! We got sat down fairly quick and they got our order as soon as possible too. It was a packed house so the service was on point! I love the ambiance of the place it really seemed like your somewhere in the Midwest, made me want to wear my boots! But overall the food was great as well, though I couldn't finish everything right away I'll definitely come back again!

I love this location of Jacks in Algona. It is on a side road next to Hwy 167 but is in a semi-isolated area that feels more like you are in a rural area than in a big city. I stopped in here while in the area as I couldn't resist having a need to consume the mouthwatering pulled pork and chili. I could live on this stuff. Great service at the bar and nice decor. I had a great pulled pork sandwich with a side of the chili and large piece of honeyed cornbread which was super delicious. All this was washed down with a can of Vitamin R. Superb meal and everything was great. You guys rock!

This place was amazing! Definitely could become a regular here! They had so many unique and fun choices on their menu, with things like Frito pie! The waiters and waitresses were extremely friendly and fast. Inside had a cool rustic but modern feel at the same time.

Amazing brisket. Get the brisket plate. The all meat chill is a must, ass some white bread onions and pickled onions. Service was great. Food was great. Highly recommend.

Pulled pork was all fat, looks like it was not low and slow to allow the fat to render out and do it's magic. Also the pork had no flavor like not seasoned even salt and pepper would have been good. The greens were way over cooked and too smoky like liquid smoke was used to give it that smoked flavor. Banana Pudding should have pudding and vanilla wafers, it was more wiped banana, banana chunks and no wafers. $12 for cobbler for 2? Yet my serving was flat and unimpressive. This meal was not worth $80+ Service was good and the atmosphere is a solid casual experience.

I placed an order online, I came about 30 mins early to pick up but the worker was like we will get that order ready for you. His service was very nice and efficient. The restaurant is very clean and such a good vibe! Let alone the food is great. My husband works at Boeing near by and always order lunch from here. I would definitely order again. Haven't been disappointed yet.

We stopped by Jack's BBQ on our way to a concert at White River, and it was the perfect pre-show spot. The place was buzzing--super busy and loud, but in a way that felt alive, not overwhelming. The open layout and steady stream of Texas country music gave it a laid-back, honky-tonk vibe we really enjoyed. Our server was awesome--totally chill, walked us through the different meats and how they're smoked. There was a small mix-up with my drink, but he fixed it quickly and without any fuss. Big points for great service! Food-wise, they nailed it. My son went with the pulled pork sandwich and a side of seasoned corn on the cob, and I had the chopped brisket sandwich with Texas caviar (a tasty black-eyed pea salad) on the side. Everything was moist, flavorful, and clearly made with care--exactly what you hope for in good BBQ. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and craving some smoky, Southern-style comfort food.

Went for lunch over the weekend with my wife. Got seated right away, and the server was great. Food portions were big. We ordered the Texas Trinity with cornbread, mac and cheese, and an extra side of the chili. Unfortunately the brisket was a little dry as well as the noodles in the mac and cheese. We also got the Spicy Caesar with chicken. Huge portion and tasted great, but would just get the starter salad size next time. Ended with the Peach Cobbler, nothing special there Overall, great time, just a little disappointing because of the dry brisket

Man good things really do come to an end! Started dining at Jacks BBQ when it was one location in the industrial belly of Seattle. Now it's a larger than life BBQ joint with many locations. Now the great BBQ places in Texas have 1 single location and do it 100% the Texas way. Which brings me to my issue. So I saw the Seattle Times article on JACKS BBQ having ribeye steaks. Based on my love of the rib eye I came in for lunch. I awaited with anticipation for my meal to be placed upon my table. The moment arrived and I grabbed my knife and fork and started to carve. My waiter should have brought a chainsaw cause the meat was TOUGH! Yes, I said tough like leather ugh. Now I noticed the fat was hard and not jelly like which was strange but then I tasted this flesh and it was cold and tough. Rib eye's if cooked correctly burst with flavor and easy chewing. I was blown away they served a cold smoked steak. Damn ya could have noted meat is served cold in menu vs serve me a $40 piece cold meat. Now I'm disgusted but I lie to the waiter that it was all good. Just needed my bill and leave. So I'll pull out CASH and the waiter goes we don't take cash! Are you kidding me like I want another reminder I dined on a horrible steak experience on my billing statement. My advice is stick to BBQ and remove half that menu and go back to slow & low cooking meats. When ya started I loved this place but now I'M GIVING YOU THE FINGER! See ya JACK **** NOTE OWNER LEFT NASTY NOTE WHICH WAS ALL LIES. Didn't order a rare steak JACK. What kinda owner lies DIDN'T YOUR FAMILY SHARE THE BIBLE TO YOU? Exodus 20:16, which translates to "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor".

    Trifecta with coleslaw and cornbread

My family had dinner last night. I got the smoked sweet tea and they all got lemonade. For our entrees we all got something different. We ordered a burger (juicy and had a great sauce) was paired with the sweet corn pudding as the side but didn't particularly love it. The Trifecta plate (Ribs, brisket and 2 hot links along with coleslaw and cornbread) there wasn't one morsel of food left on the plate! The 16 oz Ribeye with potato salad and cornbread and the meat was amazing and cooked to absolute perfection and I had the Wedge. I have to say it's my new favorite I can't wait to go back often for their daily specials. All sound amazing! Oh, I also need to try desserts (good selection of southern favorites). 10 outta 10!!!

Went to the Algona location about 5:30ish last Sunday. Not to busy yet. The restaurant is wide open with couple booths on one side. We sat at the bar (open sitting) and had a cocktail while we browsed the menu. What brought us there was the March meat madness and that was definitely NOT a bad decision...

Double Trouble with Brisket and Rib, sides of chili and mac & cheese All the fixings
    Esther L.

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating. We ordered a double trouble with brisket and ribs, with sides of chili and mac & cheese. We also asked for all the fixings. The brisket was pretty good but some parts seemed a bit tough. We really enjoyed the ribs - they were flavorful and tender. The chili was delicious with meat and the sour cream and cheese helped balance the flavor - definitely better chilis we've had at other place. The mac and cheese also had a nice kick to it and wasn't plain. The fixings were nice, although the onion didn't seem really pickled and we would've liked if our breads were toasted. Otherwise, it was yummy and we'd be happy to come again!

We were the only people in the dining room for lunch the entire time until our last 10 mins. This restaurant is inside a casino in Fife. Parking is interesting, and the casino itself is in the middle of a reno so it looks a bit messy but otherwise it is fine. Kudos to them for trying to make the outside section nice because the view kind of kills it. Pros - it's a very nicely designed space. The hostess and our waitress were so nice and welcoming, even giving me a stool for my bag (and it wasn't even my fanciest bag lol!) Overall, the restaurant is nice, the food seems to be mostly fresh and good quality and service was nice. I actually quite enjoyed my ribeye, despite our broccolinni having no almonds, as stated on the menu. My affogato was good, and the cake frosting and flavors were good. Cons - I say these with love...but we both feel the kitchen was not up to par, or the main chef was off, or something happened because there were quite a few mishaps during our visit. The appetizers were good, but the scallops needed salt and I would not pair them with pineapple, personally. The calamari weren't the most tender, and the breading was interesting - it's definitely not your typical breading, it suited a fish and chips dish better. The sweet and spicy sauce served with it is from trader Joe's...I know because I've bought it before, so I don't believe it's house made. Like I previously stated, the broccolinni was missing the almonds, and the carrots on the side that I ordered for $13 were so embarrassing that the waitress came back after serving us and told us that she spoke to the manager and got those off our bill. That's how ridiculous they were, so thank you to her for having good values at work. While I liked my steak, it was very, very fatty, and my husband asked for medium rare and definitely got medium well. Lastly, the pink champagne cake was disappointing, not because it was yucky, but because the cake itself was clearly days old, and had been freshly frosted. It was tough, dry and stale, while the frosting was fresh and light. Overall, I can see coming back but I'm in no rush due to the price/location/overall food.

Turns out it's the former, at least in atmosphere. The service was genuinely lovely from start to finish. The host, server, and table assistants were warm and attentive. No notes there. We went with the ribeye prix fixe, which felt like the obvious call given that Ms. Jane's has built its reputation around it. The menu included a salad, two ribeyes with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and dessert for $150 plus wine. The salad was beautiful and delicious. It just could've used some cheese, and I will die on that hill. The mashed potatoes were legitimately outstanding and nearly redeemed the entire evening on their own. The broccoli was fine. Broccoli is always just fine. Then there were the ribeyes. They were enormous, beautifully presented, and unfortunately not much else. Both cuts had an excessive amount of fat and lacked the depth of flavor you'd expect from a restaurant that's staked its identity on this one dish. We make better steaks at home, which is not something you want to be thinking about after dropping $150 before wine. Dessert closed things out on a high note. A chocolate and vanilla mousse topped with genuinely delicate whipped cream. In the moment we told ourselves we'd come back and try something else. A few days of reflection later, that enthusiasm cooled but it didn't disappear entirely. The service was too good, the mashed potatoes too memorable, and the mousse too solid to write the place off completely. Ms. Jane's clearly has something going on. We just hope the ribeye isn't the thing they're most proud of.

We sat down and a gal came to our table to ask for our order. She immediately came off as very standoffish, but, all good, we were there to relax and enjoy. We ordered wings to start off with. Mind you, it was happy hour which she mentioned herself. Cool, thank you. The wings were decent but some were soggy. But it's all good. We then ordered an entree and more wings because we were hungry. Did another dozen wings in the buffalo sauce. Our waitress, Kalidawn, reiterating the wings were 2 orders. Didn't make sense but it did in the end as she was trying to separate the orders as "half orders" to charge more? When in reality, it was the same buffalo flavor for the dozen wings so it wasn't a "half order". Really? You're going to do all of that to get you an extra few dollars? She was already rude, dismissive, and bothered from the beginning. We try to look past these things but she was truly excessive. It's like she wanted to make a statement and hated that we weren't regulars. We ended up getting sick after eating here. The service was beyond disappointing and the food sucked, but we also got sick which was the cherry on the cake. We will never be back and hope others think twice. And to find out, Kalidawn is the manager at the restaurant. So don't even bother trying to complain about her horrible HORRIBLE service and attitude. We were seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time, which on Valentine's Day I understand can happen. It's busy. It's high volume. But when you take reservations, there's an expectation that timing is at least somewhat respected. Then we were placed at a table about 18 inches from a side door. I'm not exaggerating when I say if I moved my arm out even slightly, I hit the wall. The table next to us was less than two feet away. On a night that's supposed to feel intimate, it felt cramped and rushed. Not romantic. Not relaxed. Just tight. It honestly felt like too many reservations were accepted for the space available. I get maximizing a holiday, but there has to be a balance. Capping reservations and planning seating a little better would've made a big difference in the overall experience. Again, the food? Strong. The atmosphere that night? Way too packed for comfort. If the seating had matched the quality of the kitchen, it would've been a top-tier Valentine's dinner. I reached out directly to the restaurant and after my email was read numerous times between now and then with no response, I am leaving this review.

This is the best Happy Hour menu I have seen in recent memory. Solid selection and reasonable prices. I went with the Potato Skins and I have to tell you, they were the largest skins I've ever seen making it a killer deal. Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there. Not enough bacon and I would have rather had ranch instead of sour cream. I think Black Angus has the best Potato Skins around now that Claim Jumpers is gone and unless they changed the menu, they are available for Happy Hour there. Again, the skins here did not impress, but the price and portion blew me away, so these guys are going to get 4 stars from me. Jimmy's and Billy's may have the same owner, but the recipes differ, I think Billy is more flavorful and consistent, but you get more meat selections at Jimmy's. Good news is they are only a couple miles apart. So choose wisely and enjoy either way.
