We came in through the pub entrance and found a table rather quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. The tables and bathroom were clean. What was wrong? The food was just meh. I got the veggie Benedict. The eggs were overcooked, you know that luscious runny yolk? Missing. Completely gone. The hash-browns looked a bit over overcooked but I figured maybe they're having a bad day and we're not judging on appearance... they were chewy. We've lately been going to matinee movies at the Outlet mall theaters. We're usually up for a beer and a snack afterwards, so we recently decided to check out the happy hour at Oddfellas - and, boy, were we glad we did! A nice selection of brews on tap, as well as canned/bottled beers, many of which were nicely discounted, along with some very affordable noshes that were generous enough to qualify as dinner. (We went with the Irish Nachos.) Combined with a convenient location and friendly service, I think this may well be our after-movie go-to for the foreseeable future. This place ended up being a nice jewel of a restaurant in the heart of Auburn. Hadn't heard of it before having a birthday lunch for my 92-year-old Aunt. The food was very good, but for lunch, the prices a bit high (but this is not just their problem, it's a problem everywhere I go right now). I ordered the equivalent of a Shepherds Pie, but with ground beef. Delicious, and the service was actually very good. Our server made the smart recommendation of the pie, so kudos to her. The wait time was inflated to 45 minutes by 5:00 in the middle of the week and we almost did not stay, but we ended up only waiting about 20 minutes. The restaurant reminds me of a Wisconsin sports pub (with a smaller bar LOL!). Happy Hour was bustling and while we initially wanted to sit at the bar we were far too hungry to wait. The food was average for pub food. I had the Rueben which did hit the spot after a long day of hiking. My boyfriend had Da Club which was so large he could not take a bite of it. I ordered the Happy Hour Bangers & mash. My buddy ordered the Happy Hour Tacos. Loved the overall ambiance of the place, though it was very quiet on the night we were there. My review is more on the Bangers and mash. From order to getting my food, was less than 5 minutes. The mash was ok, but the banger was pre cooked (dry) and gravy was over salted. I saw standing in the kitchen, and just wish there was a little more effort put in my dish. If I ever go back, I would try the Cottage pie, but definitely would not order the bangers again. read more

I tried to get a seat at the bar but the waitress was like there is a huge amorphous group at the bar so you'd probably be better off at a booth. I guess they were celebrating something. I tried the Little Red Fox & Manny's Pale Ale. Both are delicious. Like really good. I ordered their cottage pie. It came out on a hot skillet and, let me tell you, that s*** is FIRE. So tasty. I put some Tabasco on it because they didn't have tapatio. But it was flavorful without the hot sauce but it's a must--IYKYK. The crusted bits on the edges were so good. I love sheppard's pie. Love everything about it. And this was good & hearty. It comes with a thing of gravy which I didn't try. BUT WAIT. Let me tell y'all. It also came with this biscuit. I WOULD COME BACK HERE JUST FOR THIS BISCUIT. IT'S F****** DELICIOUS. Garlic-y and just the right amount of crunch for texture. OMG. It was so good I ordered a to go order because I'm a glutton. Food was decent but the service nearly every step of the meal was slow. We came in on a Monday before the dinner rush, the place was nearly empty and was slow the entire time we were there. She regularly disappeared in the back. She checked in us to see how we were doing, while we were still waiting for a drink to be brought to us. Both of our drinks were left sitting around long enough for the head from being poured to disappear. She visited with other customers, chatting with them and being friendly with them when they weren't in her section. We heard the kitchen ringing the bell to deliver food repeatedly, it sounded rather passive-aggressively aimed at the servers (come get the food and serve it, already!") My sandwich was soggy from having sat so long. It also was rushed off the grill, a pale golden color. It took her a while to bring the check and even longer to retrieve it to process the payment. She clearly wasn't in a hurry. It took us over 90min from start to finish. I'd be willing to give it another try, but I'm definitely sitting at the bar next time. That seemed to be the place to sit to get good service. At least it seemed clean, didn't visit the restrooms but I liked the look of the place. read more

While I was in there I noticed just how dead it was. It was a Thursday at about 6pm so not exactly a peak day, but wow. Where is everyone?? Not exactly promising. I grabbed my food and happily headed back next door. I got a veggie wrap while my dinning partner got the Red's Irish chili. First thing I noticed? They didn't provide any cutlery. Now, I can handle the fact that my wrap wasn't cut in half and still eat it, but how is one supposed to eat chili without a spoon?!? Thankfully Shaun at Rail Hop'n had a spoon so I didn't have to walk back over there. Fries were cold. Chili was lukewarm. Ordered a portion of the corned beef and cabbage, it was so salty I couldn't eat it. I ate the cabbage wedge and the carrot. So I thought I should let them know my experience. I called the next day and asked for a manager. The lady on the phone said "how can I help you?" I explained that my corned beef was so salty I couldn't eat it. She said nobody else complained. I said "uh OK", then she said "Thanks for the feedback" and hung up. I totally felt dismissed. So (it gets better) I posted an honest review on Google. Couple days later they post an apology, and asked me to email kyla@longhornbarbeque.com so they could address my issue and "make it right". I emailed Kyla and guess what? It's a bogus address. Email was kicked back as undeliverable since it doesn't exist. Kinda shady to address the review online with instructions to email a bogus address. This sucks because I like the place. But the condensending way the dismissed me and then led me down a dead end is inexcusable. read more

Not good. Service is slow. They charge a 3% credit card fee which is absolutely insane in 2024. Food was not good. My buddies got fish and chips which were like bad fish sticks. The fries suck. They use house ketchup. Shepard pie was ok at best. You can't really fuck up mashed potatoes. Do not come here. Go somewhere else. read more
