    Porker

Absolutely delicious. My roomate and I got The Porker sandwhich. Filled with Mac and cheese and meat, it hit the spot. I also got the sweet potatoes fries and my roomate got the cornbread. Both amazing. We ordered for pick up and the service was really quick when we picked it up. We're watching preseason packers with a full stomach now. Top notch place.

My husband and I stopped in on a Friday night. It's a small cozy little location. We split the sampler platter. I was happy to have many DF/GF options. Unfortunately, all of the meats besides the burnt ends were a bit dry. I loved all of the bbq sauces but hate that they were needed to drown out the meat. The pulled pork and burnt ends were the most flavorful and tender whereas the ribs, pulled chicken, and brisket were the driest. They are definitely not fall off the bone ribs. Service was good, pricing was fair, but I likely wouldn't return as there are better spots elsewhere.

Bad food and service. I was up charged without any notice and the brisket was all fat and not good at all. Very disappointed

Delicious! For a cocktail we had a bramble berry smash. We enjoyed the KC egg rolls and brisket cheese dip for starters. Dinner plates with brisket and burnt ends sausage. For sides we had corn bread, mac and cheese, and a loaded baked potato. The cornbread was delicious, it tasted like it should be dessert! The mac and cheese was creamy and very cheesy.

Greeted warmly as soon as I walked in. Sat on the patio since the weather was beautiful. Server gave me a detailed rundown of the menu and helped me decide on a few items. Went with 2 meat platter. Beef brisket was tender and fatty with a decent rub. Pulled pork was alright. It wasn't exciting or super flavorful. I always test my bbq without any sauce first to get the true flavor. Both meats require the use of sauce. Mac and cheese was very cheesy and yummy. Baked potato was perfect with sour cream. Overall, experience was fine and service was amazing.

Great service and they have a nice patio that is dog friendly for the summer. The bbq is great, I went during their BBQ week and tried the Pig Mac which was a bbq sandwich with Mac and cheese and it was delicious. Very filling though so I definitely didn't need an appetizer but I tried the burnt ends cheese dip which was very tasty, just don't expect a lot of burnt ends in the dip, they are very small pieces and just add to the flavor rather than adding to the texture. Drinks were really good too, overall I had a great experience!

Went here for my birthday dinner and wow, it was great! We had Sawyer taking care of us that night and he was amazing. Very personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Only downside was that the chefs weren't as quick, with drinks and our app taking a good while but that was no fault of our server's. The KC egg rolls were extremely flavorful and had just the right amount of crunch. The shack sampler included 1/2 rack of ribs, burnt end sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken breast (all tasted awesome). The sides were simple in execution but the flavor was top notch. The seating itself is divided amongst the standard indoor and outdoor seating, along with a covered tent that has fireplaces during the cold months. Was very comfortable outside despite freezing temperatures. All in all I highly recommend this place!

Fabulous find on July 4th as a rain delay before summerfest. Friendly service, blues and yummy BBQ. Burnt end sausage sandwich and cornbread.

Great spot for barbecue in the downtown area and loved the outdoor seating area! Inside was cozy and rustic but on the warm fall night that we visited, soaking up the last of the warm evenings outdoors was ideal. Dog friendly and a big screen tv too! Our server was friendly and patient, as we looked over the menu deciding on what to have. The smokey old fashioned paired nicely with the smoked chicken that I ordered. My sides of choice were the mac n cheese (so creamy & cheesy!!!) and the Brussel sprouts (with balsamic?). My favorite part of my meal was the Mac n cheese and the old fashioned but I'd return here if I was in the downtown area and in the mood for bbq!

This has been a long time bookmark and being a bbq hound if anyone follows me you know that I get bbq all over the country for many years over the course of my travels. The place is small with a small bar and looks like a shack from one of those pictures of a single property that didn't sell out and each side has a huge building towering over it. Once again a single person is directed to have a bar seat which I instantly told my hostess noooooo, I'm not paying a premium price for bbq ribs with a 50% tip to eat at the bar and yes I'm a good tipper $10 and change for a $19 and change lunch. Service was good on my visit and the place is really small and cozy with a woody charm. I ordered the 1/2 rack of St. Louis ribs as the menu states because St. Louis ribs are twice as meaty as baby back ribs with two sides Coleslaw and pickles. My two sides being baked beans and Mac and cheese. Complete fail when my St. Louis rib plate hit my table because first off no coleslaw like the menu states and the St. Louis ribs were not traditional meaty ribs but flat like baby back ribs like a MDs M rib sandwich WTF. The St. Louis ribs were the most meatless St. Louis I have had in my bbq travels and any cooking with grocery store St. Louis ribs I have bought. Ok after the menu miss leading me let's talk about the food and a good thing that pictures don't lye because the ribs were flat as board for St. Louis style and not meaty but they were moist/smokey fall off the bone. The baked beans were super loose like a soup and sweet with next to no bbq meat in it like lots of bbq restaurants do. The Mac and cheese was bland/creamy and cooked to mush and like I always say a salty/sharp cheese should be used in Mac and cheese for depth and body. As a bbq hound who travels the country eating BBQ the menu and the food was a miss leading fail.

I don't care if my final destination is Boscobel, Wisconsin, I'm flying into MKE so I can hot Smoke Shack before driving west. Headed to Madison? Fly into MKE. Going to Green Bay? Flying into MKE. I think you hear my point. But you'll understand my point if you stop by Smoke Shack on your way to Anywhere, Wisconsin. Excellent meat, fabulous sides, great bottle selections in the bar. Indoor/outdoor seating options, and a very convenient (pay) parking lot right across the street.

Date of visit: April 18, 2025 This has been a favorite in the past that I had neglected to review and wanted to waste no time with this visit letting fellow Yelpers know the score! We were here to celebrate our birthdays with a friend a bit past the actual days (because...well, life!) and I appreciated being able to make a reservation through OpenTable, though disappointed that even when you select "Birthday" that message doesn't always get through to the staff. Lucas was our server and while we had some longer waits and pauses in the meal, he was quite affable and was more than happy to answer any questions our friend had, this being her first time to the 'Shack. We started with the Burnt Ends appetizer, which had a healthy amount of meat on it, helping justify the higher price for the item. Loved the white barbecue sauce that it came with, just wish that there had been a little more of it for dipping as the drizzle wasn't the most generous. For the main event, I went with the Two-Meat platter and selected the burnt ends sausage with brisket, and sides of cornbread and mac + cheese. The mac and cornbread were very good, though the bread did have a hint of an aftertaste that I didn't love and was glad that the piece wasn't any bigger than it was. The meats were good though I don't know that I would have necessarily classified the sausage as "burnt ends." All in all, a good meal and I would definitely return yet again in the future!

The food was great. Try the bbq egg rolls. The atmosphere was relaxed and southern and quiet which was nice. Service was great as well

The guy working the counter was doing a great job and gave me a rib tip sample that was delicious. I ordered the rib dinner that comes with two sides for $20, unfortunately they were out of greens so Mac and beans would be my sides. I always say if you smell smoke/grill in the air outside it's most like going to be good and I smelled the grill as I walked up, not a wood smoke smell. My rib dinner looked good that was only 5 bones with a nice bark. The ribs were moist/tender fall odd the bone with a backyard grill flavor, not a wood smoke flavor. The rids were delicious and tasty with the seasoned rub. The beans were good but very sweet. The Mac and cheese was over cooked to mush, not Al dente and slightly creamy with a small cheese flavor topped with cheese. The Mac and cheese could have been seasoned better like the ribs but still good. Overall I had a great lunch and I like the grill flavor because most places use wood smoke so I like this style to break up bbq from time to time. I would definitely stop back for more of the menu.

They haven't been open long, so be patient as they work to get into a groove. I've had their brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, baby back ribs, chicken, and sausage and all have been delicious! I still want to try their smoked turkey and turkey leg, but their meats have been among the best BBQ I've had! The chicken, in particular far exceeded my expectations! Their sides are solid. I noticed an improvement in texture with the baked beans feom the first visit to most recent visit, but I liked the mac-n-cheese better on the first visit. It was creamier and better seasoned the first time. Their creamy Cole slaw and greens were other sides I enjoyed. The fries and potato salad were good, but didn't stand out to me. They did not have cornbread on the menu. You can order sandwiches, dinners, or 2 and 3-meat combos. Important things to note: 1. They have a dining room. 2. They will put sauce on most, if not all, of their smoked meats, so if you want no sauce or sauce on the side, then tell them when you order. I am a smoked BBQ purist. I want to taste the rub and their smoking method. Their sauce is good, but their meats are great and don't need sauce. 3. They don't have a website, and it's not easy to find their menu on their Facebook page. 4. They are open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. 5. They accept cash and cards. Definitely check this place out because their BBQ is really good! I will be back!

I read…read moregood things about the brisket here and found it inside Redbar and was able to grab a seat at the bar. I ordered a beer and decided on Brisket and added a Sausage for 6 bucks. I started cutting into the brisket and was immediately turned off. This was like cutting into a piece of beef jerky. It was try and tough and I shouldn't have even put it in my mouth, but I reluctantly did! Oh wait, this isn't that forum in that adult magazine.... But Yuck Yuck Yuck to that dry meat. Luckily, there was a LOT of brisket so I fished around and cut a piece from the other end and wow... BUTTER! This was some of the juiciest brisket I've had. The fat rendered nicely and it was still meaty. SOOOO good. Yes, this good part was connected to the bad part. The $6 add on for the sausage was pretty good as well, as was the side of Mac n Cheese. With the add on, it's probably a shareable plate for most people, including me these days. Parking is limited as it's kind of in a neighborhood, and the Redbar itself has a locals, dive-bar vibe, which isn't a bad thing. Just something you should know! Cheap beers though!

He is there Tuesday to Saturday 10:30 to 4pm he says. The rib tips looked amazing on the grill and I took a picture so you could see the before and after pictures of the cooked rib rips. I ordered the meat only for $10 because the sides didn't interest at all and did my car smell so good so I pulled over because I couldn't wait to try them. The rib tips had a nice looking bark that was seasoned nicely and tasty I thought. The rib meat had that little chew that I like because I don't like the mush fall off the bone meat. The rib tips were meaty and not all cartilage with most of the meat chopped off like some places. The meat was very tasty with that bark and a deep grilled flavor that I really liked, like a backyard bbq. I really like that he uses charcoal to cook his food because it's so hard to find places that cook with charcoal anymore and he seems like a like a really nice guy and he let me take my pictures which helps his business.
