This is it! My dining experience was ridiculous. If I wanted to eat in the cold I could have ordered and dined in the parking lot. Extremely uncomfortable. My main concern was the amount of time to receive our meals. There were literally 30 people in the whole restaurant. We visited the location near greenbrier mall on a Sunday afternoon. We were quickly seated and greeted by our waitress. We all ordered something a little different but everything tasted great. I tried the watermelon margarita which was a little on the sweet side but still good. The service from the waitress really set this place above the bar. She was quick to bring drinks the entire time. I know there's maybe more authentic BBQ somewhere but if you're in a hurry or don't want to drive far you should try this place. We will be back! read more

So very disappointed. I ordered a burger and BBQ wings. First the burger was missing lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo, and the bun was stale. The BBQ wings were WAY over cooked and I basically had charcoal on a stick. If it weren't for the ranch, I don't think I I could've ate half of it. The other half was given to the garbage. Smoked wings dusted with their house seasoning with a sweet glaze!! When we first purchased them about 5 or 6 years ago we could get all flats (the wing portion) for me and all drumsticks for my babe. But not anymore!! I think that sucks!! If I'm willing to pay more then why not?! So for that...3.5 stars. Any other restaurant that we go to will allow us to purchase all flats or all drumsticks. Hey Smokey Bones....If it makes money it makes sense people! I would've given 5 stars but we have only had one good experience with the hostess and waiters. We went in tonight during a huge rush & they were clearly understaffed. They had ONE bartender who had been there since the lunch shift....apparently 3-4 employees called out. The place is cool looking, ambience is pretty nice. Definitely a "sports bar" meets BBQ atmosphere. The staff/servers were nice, but the place is understaffed for sure. The wings were really good, but the stuffed grilled cheese was very lack luster. I wish I had gotten the wings after trying someone's at our table. They were also out of a lot of items. Redeemed....after two horrible visits to this brand in Atlanta, I tried it here. The service was excellent, jaycie( not sure if spelled right) was excellent, great server. Food was adequate, not spectacular but filled the void for BBQ. Pulled chicken was dry as well as the sausage, I would not recommend. Chicken breast was excellent, baked beans an potato was awesome. Very unhappy how this place has gone downhill. The food is brought out slowly and its overly salted and just not good. I ordered street tacos and wow I am sad that the tacos were brought to my seat literally sitting in water. It looked as if the Salsa was very watery and the soft tortilla sat in the water and fell apart upon first bite. I was waiting to ask for BBQ sauce and you'd think I was asking for the bartenders first born. I was given a bit of attention, as soon as 4 guys pulled up to the bar I was ignored. I asked for my check 3x and didn't get it. The 2 different set of guys asked for their bill once and got it right away plus had the bill spilt and redelivered before I even got mine and I asked first. We went here late Saturday night. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table. The hostess did have to clear a table for us to even sit down. We went through 3 waitresses before one of them "had enough time" to take our drink order. Then, someone else brought them to us. Yet another waitress finally took our food order. The waitress we ended up with was friendly and upbeat, but not very attentive. It took exactly ONE HOUR AND THIRTY-TWO MINUTES to get our food. We would've left, but it was the only place open that late. The food was passable at best. The brisket was super fatty, but tasted ok. The bun was so hard it could've been used to clean a BBQ grill. I came in to order catering for my family on the 4th of July. I placed the order around 11am, to pick up a few hours later. My customer service experience was below par. The woman working at the front was not attentive. We heard her ask a coworker if we were ready to order as we stood no more than thirty feet away, staring out at them from the ordering counter. The coworker replies that she hasn't talked to us, and a third person (a customer at the bar who seemed to know the server) added "why don't you go ask them?" After a few more minutes, she finally came over to get our order. I had some questions, such as "how many pieces of cornbread are in the bulk?" which was something listed on the catering menu. She guessed four different numbers. It took two more employees before we got an answer, which was also given in an extremely hesitant tone. So, I think there are 20 pieces but who really knows. Skipping ahead to when we got home with the order, I noticed that we were missing the pint of barbeque sauce I had ordered. I did appreciate that we seemed to get garlic bread free of charge. The party pack was a great option for our relatively small group. The food was good albeit nothing spectacular, but the ordering experience at the store itself was disappointing. read more

I was a bit disappointed. I will say the server and hostess were great. That is the only reason they have 3 stars. Food is on par with Apple Bee's, so glorified microwave food. Even my 9 year old complained that the bbq was dry. Maybe we are spoiled by living in Carolina and always having good bbq, but a place that totes on it's bbq and grilled meats should be able to keep the meat moist. Overall, I would probably skip eating here again, but I have to applaud the staff. They got some great people serving there. read more

Granted I walked into this place an hour before it closed...there was a sign on the door stating "Due to renovations, we will be closing at 11" I told the hosts I would be looking for a table for 6 people. She rebutted the seats next to this other table were the only ones available since "the server who takes care of those tables is gone" or something like that...personally, I didn't see a difference between that table and this table other than it wouldn't disturb the other group. I asked for a vodka soda, and when it got delivered to me, I was told "sorry we don't have limes, the bartender discarded all the lemons and limes" It was at this point, I wanted to leave. Again coming in an hour before you close might be a little sucky on my point, but making your customer feel uncomfortable for attending your restaurant is another thing. And can't a brother can't get some limes!? Fine, I asked for a cup of cranberry juice, the server asked me how I would like it served to me in about 4 different ways LOL "Anyway I can get it!" was my final answer. He comes back with a little bit in a cup, that's fine I just wanted to dilute my vodka soda with something. At this point we inform him we are probably gonna leave. I don't normally eat at chains, but UberEats had a really great deal for this restaurant. I ordered several flavors of boneless wings with ranch and bleu cheese. We are pretty far into this pandemic now, and I feel like curbside/takeout/delivery has become the new norm. Personally, I feel like the grace period we gave establishments to figure out their pandemic system has been ample; but, unfortunately, my food was not even warm by the time it got to me. Most of the containers had made a mess. The wing sauces were mediocre at best - all the bbq flavors used the same bbq base. They were also all combined in the boxes, and most just tasted like a cesspool sauce. I received a few incorrect flavors, and ended up not getting to try the maple bacon (which I had been excited for). They completely left out my bleu cheese dipping sauce, and I'm 90% sure the ranch I ended up with was just some store brand Hidden Valley. I come Smokey Bones occasionally and usually it is a pleasant experience. I came in with a friend on Saturday around 730 and we sat at the bar for food and drinks. First it took about 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us now mind you it was two bartenders and the bar was not full. They kept walking by us tending to the people sitting right beside us but not saying a word to us. I finally stopped the finally bartender and asked for a menu. She asked as if o was bothering her. I finally ordered and has to ask everything I needed silverware would be really nice to have since I order food. Shortly after a couple came in and sat beside us and they made several comments about the service being like that the last time they came and the girl was bartending. Ordered the Family Feast for takeout. Service was fast and efficient. Staff very friendly and courteous. When I got home I discovered one of the sides not included and had regular fries instead of the sweet potato fries that ordered. I only live a short distance away so I called to let them know, and they were very apologetic and prepared my sides again quickly. The amount of food provided with the Family Feast is quite a lot for the price such that I felt guilty calling to ask for the beans that were missing on the order, but I really like their baked beans. It looked like they were short handed for sure. If that were the only issue I would rate it 4 stars because the food was good. However, the waitress. As nice as she was, got my order wrong. Before leaving town, I stopped here with a good girlfriend to have a quick lunch. She got a bourbon long Island for a drink. She said it was made okay. She ordered the large top sirloin with loaded baked potato and macaroni & cheese for sides. She enjoyed her meal. She asked from medium well but they cooked it well done but she still enjoyed it. She said the mac n cheese was just okay, nothing to rave about. I ordered the morning glory burger with garlic mayo. My side was a loaded baked potato. This burger was EVERYTHING! Truly enjoyed. This lack of follow through and taking you're customers concerns to conclusion does not sit well with me or others. I do restaurant reviews multiple times a week and can honestly say that your lack of response is appalling and fear that if you continue this it will not matter how good your food is if the service is lacking. There have been but a few places that I have been where the ribs were so tender they fell of the bones and the succulent flavor just made the trip worth it. This was definitely the place. There were four different sauces on the table to choose from. I mixed the Spivey mustard and the Carolina bbq. What a winner. The sides were great as well the broccoli was steamed perfectly with a little butter and cheese and the baked potato was the perfect size for the plate. The brad was mouth watering and the smoked Spivey links had just the right kick. I was placed at a table and served swiftly. The staff was attentive and friendly. I hit this place up on a Monday night for a quiet birthday dinner with a friend. The server was pretty quick and attentive throughout the night, bringing refills and additional items before we needed to request them. For that I'd give 5 stars. The food was a different story for me. If you are an aficionado of the beloved Q whether it be Memphis, Carolina, Kansas City, Texas or Virginia style, please skip this spot. This is like the Applebee's of Q. I ordered the brisket (staple at any BBQ spot for me) which came with a choice of two sides. I went with broccoli and mac and cheese. Let's start with the brisket. The cut strips of meat were pretty thin in texture, chewier then I'd expected and not as smokey as I would've liked. Perhaps I should've gone for the ribs since these sorts of places seem to add brisket to their menu as an after thought, instead focusing primarily on ribs. The broccoli was steamed and seasoned nicely with what seemed to be sea salt and garlic. It wasn't crunchy though so if that's your preference, alert your server when you place your order. The mac and cheese reminded me of the frozen Stouffer's brand baked with real cheese on top. Skip it and order the loaded mashed potatoes instead. For dessert I ordered one of their Sweet Shots, a small dessert stuffed into a shot glass since that was all I had room for. Being the good southern girl that I am, I went with the bread pudding. I should've passed. It was less of a bread pudding and more like bread stuffed in a glass with whipped cream on top. Lol Disappointing for sure. To be fare, I feel the need to revisit this place to try the ribs, burgers and a different dessert to make a proper assessment. Service was outstanding (5 stars) ! The food....meh (2 stars). Placed a DoorDash order at 3:45pm on a Wednesday, usually not a busy time for restaurants, half my order was missing. And the worst part was my baked potato and that's a hard thing to mess up, it had to have been reheated for many days to look like this. It wasn't edible unless you used a knife and fork to eat it.
