Gotta love random little spots you didn't know existed which serve a wonderful purpose. That would be Smokey Buns which my wife and I visited back at the end of October when we were in search of a quick bite before a concert in the nearby area. Smokey Buns served a purpose for sure, but it was definitely a tasty purpose by the end of things. You see, out in the Hamptons you're destined to find some high quality spots, but with that comes more coin being shelled out and a longer meal time which we did not have the ability/desire for. Smokey Buns, though still a little pricier than your average quick serve burger spot, has just the right amount of class with a nice zing of cozy simplicity. You can see this combo in their decor as well as across their menu. Smash burgers and fries make up the gist, but there's a few other unique items (halloumi salad, fishwich, steak frites on Sundays) that help bolster its East Hampton location. For us, we just needed some burgers and fries and so we both got the #2 cheeseburger (a smash burger with smokey sauce, lettuce, tomato jam, crispy onions and american cheese) along with an order of spuds and a garlic paprika mayo sauce. Everything came out rather quickly, after ordering from the semi-friendly staff member, and it all was truly tasty. Was it a touch pricey? Perhaps. But I'll take that over what else was available in the area. Overall, Smokey Buns is perfect for what it is and where it's located. In no way would I necessarily travel out east just for this handheld. Though if I was looking for a quick bite in a cute spot without completely breaking the bank, I'd gladly return here. Use it yourself as a purposeful location when in need of something a little less frilly. read more

Pretty good smash burger and fries at a decent price in EH. Great lil speakeasy vibe at the bar area. I ordered takeout and man was I shocked the fries were still hot and crispy when I got home! Beef was tasty and well seasoned. Looking forward to trying their daily specials read more

Really disappointed in a variety of ways with this place. I came in this past Thursday and asked if I could get some food to go - the owner told me they are having a private party/event and to come back another day. If that is the case you should put a notice on the door. So I followed up tonight to try here - I call in a # 4 for pickup as I am driving over which on the google menu says a Double cheeseburger ... the guy asks me if I want to add another patty and I am like what, its a double cheeseburger , he says its a 'Wiborg' I am like okay I just want a double cheeseburger ... he says okay would you like fries, I'm like sure. I get there sure enough its something other than what I ordered. They have 2 different menus on google, with the old one being highlighted first ... not prepared for the summer season and ya so I pay extra for this burger that supposedly has roasted peppers and baconnaise - it didn't , just had the pepper jack. The burger was really over cooked well done , not medium or medium rare like a normal 'smash' burger is. Total let down there, there fries are basically McDonalds fries - nothing special typical fast food junk. Between the bad service, lack of commuincations, the menu being off on the web/google and the food being a let down I am over it. Cool decor inside, sure. I can't speak on their ice cream services in the other room, probably on point - but there are so many ice cream places in town already so I could really care less. read more

This little gem is much needed here in E. Hampton. This casual burger spot offers more than burgers. The staff are friendly and welcoming ambiance. We had fish sandwich. The buns are crunchy outside & tasty and the salmon was cooked perfectly! We also tried Saturday special "Philly Cheesesteak sandwich". I don't know which I liked it better. Loved them both! We also tried Parmesan chicken wings which I also recommend for someone who likes to try something new! read more

Just went to Smokey Buns. I came in for the ice cream but I opened the door and was distracted by the best smell. Burgers and onions. So I had a burger and fries. Really delicious and the service was fantastic. Becky was delightful and very knowledgeable on the menu. Can't wait to go back for ice cream later. I got my food as delivery so the temperature was a little off, but I'm not sure if that affects the flavor as much. The mushroom burger unfortunately was incredibly bland. I really enjoy when a restaurant has meatless burgers, but sometimes I wonder if the chefs would even eat it themselves. The toppings were pretty good and the beer cheese fries were delicious, albeit a bit too salty (and I usually oversalt my food). The mushroom burger could really shine with a marinade, glaze or even just some basic seasonings. Right now it kind of feels like an afterthought,. Would love to give this place another shot in the future, most likely in person, and update my review then. read more

A brief review for a brief but delicious meal. I don't eat meat and this burger place has lots of non-meat options on the menu. I went with the blackened salmon. Absolutely delicious. The fries were excellent, thin, fresh, hot, and crispy. The service was super friendly and the vibe was warm and charming. The restaurant scene in the Hamptons has just gotten too expensive (and too much of an event) over the last few years. So happy that a new rationally priced place for a quick, delicious bite has arrived. I'll be back for the halloumi. read more

Loved it! Came here after a beach and shopping day. I have celiac so I was very happy they had a separate fryer for the fries and gluten free buns of course. The fries were genuinely so perfect. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable as well. I wasn't too sure about some of the sauces included on my burger and the staff went through a binder that must contain recipes or notes on allergens or something and triple checked everything for me. Only thing we took off was crispy onions bc those must be made in a shared fryer. Didn't make a difference to me personally! I'm guessing the one for fries is the only separate fryer. Happy to have this reasonable, casual, and year round burger place open! We had ice cream here first and I was shocked that you could get a scoop of ice cream for $3! They offer about 12 flavors, which change, and soft serve. I very much enjoyed the moose tracks. The sugar cone seemed a bit stale though, possibly from being stored in the humidity. Eventually we went back for dinner to try the burgers. They didn't have their full menu available yet though (no daily favorites or cheese fries). Everything would come a few days later. You order inside at the counter, seat yourself and get buzzed when your order is ready. I had the #4 cheese double. I couldn't really taste the tomato jam or crispy onions, they were small, but overall a solid burger. We built burgers for my nephews and I'd consider doing that on my next video. Even the singles we ordered looked like a decent size for a smash burger. My mom was the only one who didn't have a burger. She ordered the mushroom smash and thought it was dry; too much bread not enough burger. The zero proof drinks we ordered were good, Ginger spice and Blueberry Delight. Less ice would've made them better because they eventually tasted very watered down. The staff was very nice. They had two people behind the bar, taking orders and making drinks, and another employee who assisted with clearing tables. Good bar with above average food that has a slight twist. However, some items missed the mark for me. The smash burger lacked the signature seared crust, which was disappointing. The chicken sandwich had a mix of flavors that didn't quite work, and the chicken itself was slightly dry. I liked the steamed bun for presentation, but it was cakey and gummy. I never post negative reviews but I got sick from this restaurant not once but twice, because they ignored my allergy. The second time it was marked twice with a specific instruction to leave out the ingredient containing the allergen. Beware--they do not take food safety seriously here. read more

I really wanted a burger place to come to eh and hope they can get a little better. Is it a (east Hampton) cheap burger place or a high end whisky bar? Ordering at the bar and having them text you is really dumb especially since the cell service is spotty. The burgers were ok, super salty. Very friendly staff. Terrible music selection.
