Went here today with friends and their new baby girl. This is my 3rd time and they knocked it out of the park. I had the 3 meat plate, ribs that were moist and flavorful, pulled pork that was a generous serving and very good, turkey was smokey and moist. The coleslaw was in the top five I've ever had and potato salad better than most. Fresh homemade lemonade. My only complaint is I hate the styrofoam and plastic silverware. Food was good, but the environment leaves much to be desired. They had music playing, while an aspiring artist was performing, and the TV wasn't working. It was all over the place and a lot of the food ran out early in the evening. Again, the people were nice and the food was good, but that experience will keep me from going back. read more

This is true Slow Smoked BBQ. Their smokers are heated 100% by wood. You don't find that much in the intermountain west. I have eaten here at least 10 times since moving to the area and I have never been disappointed. You don't need sauce on the meat! It's amazing and juicy just like it is! Although there house made sauces are quite good. If you like true BBQ, meaning slow smoked over real wood without a sugary BBQ sauce to block the smoke flavor, then this is your place! By far the best local BBQ place I know. I will definitely stick with this local restaurant, even after the R&R in Bountiful opens. There's no comparison. Great BBQ, but I love the non traditional items just as much. The BBQ Navajo taco, steak burger and the BBQ pizza, makes this a go to place.

In my last visit I was pretty upset. It wasn't busy but as our family waited for our food to go other people came in, ordered and were eating while we were still waiting. In fact one person who ordered AFTER us and who got the same item we ordered got his first. When we went to ask about the item we ordered the employees asked if we had gotten it yet and we said no and they then realized they gave our item to the wrong person by mistake. They made another one for us quickly BUT as we AGAIN were waiting we saw it sitting RIGHT NEXT TO THE CASHIER IN A TO GO BOX and they still didn't say anything for another couple minutes. First time here and we got take-out. Everything gets cut or pulled fresh. I love brisket. It's my favorite barbeque meat and Smokin' Bones had the hands-down most tender and tasty brisket I've ever come across. Our first experience was good, and here's why... The staff was friendly and the ordering process painless. The food, while not giant portions, was tasteful and good for the money. We felt it was BETTER than Dickey's, despite what previous reviewers felt, and we can be a bit picky :) The place is pretty clean, cleaner than most, but the one downside is the wasteful styrofoam plates used that are just tossed out. read more

I've worked a couple bbq places now and always stop at every small bbq joint I can and though the ribs my brother in law had were amazing and the brisket was moist and perfect their pulled pork needs work! It was kind of dry otherwise I would have given more stars! That pulled pork has to be good! Also I'm sure other people like the buns but I thought they were really dense. Either way, friendly atmosphere, really cool building and the staff are friendly. Overall it was a good little bbq joint and I look forward to trying more of what they have to offer! read more

Smokin Bones is finger lickin good! Brisket is smoked throughly and moist. Pork is tender and well cooked that it falls apart. Cole slaw and BBQ beans compliment the protein. The folks are friendly and treat you like family. I will definitely eat here again. read more

4 and a half stars, really. 5 stars easily if they can improve on a few minor things. I have eaten here well over a dozen times since I found out about them. I would be happy to eat here at least weekly, but my dining budget does not allow for that right now. As others have said, for Bountiful, the food is excellent. I am always happy to see places that are not huge, national chains start up and give us a unique, personal dining experience. The staff is always very, very friendly, and I always feel as if they want to make sure that my dining experience is good. My only complaint is that on a couple of different occasions I have had to remind them about a side that they forgot to bring out. This is usually when I order something unusual like an order of wings or a pizza with a piece of cornbread. I guess not many people do that. If they had a better way to manage their orders, that would go a long ways in my book. Their menu is small, but that is what I would expect from a place of this size. People need to remember that a bigger menu causes bigger overhead and that either raises prices or puts places out of business. I have noticed that they are adding and trying out more menu items as they go along. This includes wings, prime rib on Sat. nights, a couple different sausage options, and the Navaho Tacos/ dessert fry bread with honey butter that others have mentioned. I have tried almost everything on the menu and while I stick with the wings or pizza usually (beef and pork are really hard on my gut because I cannot digest them well) I have enjoyed the flavor of everything I try. If I could add one item to the menu, it would be French Fries. In summary of a post that rambles at times: friendly staff, amazing flavor, good variety, fair prices. My husband and I had high hopes for this place after the reviews we had seen, but were very disappointed. It wasn't very busy when we came in, just a few people in front of us, but it took forever to even order. The teenagers at the cash register and putting orders together were moving so slowly and had really poor communication skills. It was awkward waiting in between full tables for our to go order. After a while we saw our order sitting on the back table waiting to be bagged and waited for 5 minutes until I asked someone to bag it so we could leave. I had to ask the kid at the counter multiple times because he had headphones in and couldn't hear me. Then, when he bagged my order, he still had greasy gloves on so our takeout bag was covered in grease. Once we got home we realized our briscut was 70% fat and barely ate it. Let me preface by saying BBQ isn't my favorite. Like, this is my first time craving BBQ in 5+ years. I'd heard great things about Smokin Bones and BOOM. All of a sudden, I was craving it! Even from the parking lot you are surrounded with the sweet and savory smell of smoked meats. My husband and i decided to share a 2 meat plate so we could easily sneak it into a movie I got turkey. Oh my. So. Good. My husband ordered the brisket. Ate it so fast I don't think he even chewed it, which was fine for how easily it fell apart! Perfectly cooked meat. We ordered a side of fries, which was more than enough for the two of us to share. Whatever spices they put on their fries is just the key happiness. They had a small mixup with our order, and the reason I'm giving them 5 stars still is because they went above and beyond to correct their mistakes. I have mad respect for restaurants that put so much effort in having happy customers. They very obviously value their customers! They even threw in a free scone! It was heavenly. Scones are one of my favorite foods and their honey butter was the perfect amount of sweet. I'll definitely be craving BBQ more often now, thanks to Smokin Bones! read more
