    Brisket sandwich.

Stopped in for lunch and have to say the brisket sandwich was good but the turkey club was out of this world probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.

    Best side choices. Tastes great!

Great BBQ pit smells filled the air. An outside fancy picnic style venue. Wow, nice background music to reminisce the 50's. At a counter inside building garage doors all opened, feels like a real outdoor cookout. By a coincidence checked my watch from time of order, 11 minute wait, in a crowd. Wow. Come hungry and enjoy the short wait. Plenty of seating, all tables really clean. Got some carry out and dine in. Packaging great. Deliciousness and freshness topped off with tender, falling off the bone smokehouse BBQ ribs. Great sides, great flavor. Fast, too. First visit. Heard by word of mouth. Today my sister offered this as a great place to eat. Visiting as out of towner so yah we'll try it. Glad we did. Thank you Smokin' Coop crew! Bonus. Car show really nice event as well! Wow the outdoor "portable potties" are clean with running water. Like it. Thanks. We will be back.

Our tenth BBQ stop in Illinois was a seasonal 'cue joint that finished the year on October 1st. You can dine inside, or on a patio, but facilities are limited to port-a-potties. $32 purchased a half rack of ribs, a large mac 'n cheese with extra brisket, a loaded baked potato with pulled pork, and a slice of homemade cherry pie. The ribs were a tad soft, falling off the bone when picked up, but the understated rub allowed the smoky flavor to shine. The potato was superb, and the pulled pork added great flavor. The white cheddar/gouda mac was just creamy enough to be moist, but still firm enough to provide a solid base for the well smoked brisket. Take away the meat, and you would still have a great dish here! Be sure and finish up with a piece of the homemade cherry pie ... yum!

Had to go to Chicago today decided to stop at Smokin on the way home. The brisket was lean and delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone just as they described the pulled pork was very tasty. The sides match the main course the baked beans were delicious and the mac and cheese was also good. It's only open during the summer months so get there before the end of September or it will be closed The only downside I could say is the corn muffin was very dry.

Service is good. The kids that work there are friendly and helpful. Usually a short line to place your order. But our food has always come out quickly. Nice outside seating. They have an open area and a covered area for eating. The outside chairs are a bit uncomfortable. But under the roof chairs are padded.

Smokin Coop BBQ Review Belvidere Illinois. Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, I......wait. Never mind. On a country road between Chicago and Rockford, IL, there's a guy doing BBQ every summer, Mon-Sat, lunch, and dinner. Completely "al fresco" there are picnic tables and chairs scattered under the trees just off the road. There is a port-a-potty. The menu is is ribs, chicken, beef, and some creative sandwiches, like smoked ham or a turkey club. I went with the latter, and it was superb. Not the best club I've ever had in my life, that honor goes to Portland Oregon's oldest restaurant, "Hubers" who specialize in all things turkey. There are lines for food, lines for beverages. There is a loaded baked potato that people rave about. All dinners come with two sides and a piece of cornbread. Sides choices include slaw, beans, potato salad, or apple sauce. Plates run between $7 - $20. This is a great place to take advantage of COVID dining. Plenty of distancing and open air.

Ribs are amazing. Beans and pork thankfully don't have any heat to them but just a tin of goodness. Outdoor seating.

It was nice, then, to have been pleasantly surprised by a clean, stylish restaurant, nicely adorned for Christmas with a very good food. We ordered the Dragon Roll - generous serving, nicely sweet and crunchy. We also tried the Shrimp Stir Fried Egg Noodle which was also a nice-sized portion, with large, freshly cooked shrimp, fresh stir fried broccoli and plenty of udon style noodles. My wife and I both agreed this was a solid meal, reasonably priced, and a place to which we will return, or order take out to savor at home.

They have made things acceptable enough for Americanized preferences and tastes. First thing to know is there's a few areas. It's got the hibachi where they grill things on it. Then there's the classic sushi bar where they roll it and then chop it up. Cool concept. There's built in fun and entertainment. Has many choices. It's about $6 for the cheapest rolls. Has a few okay for vegetarians to get. We had the Avocado and the Cucumber Rolls. Great flavor. There's also the Tempura Sweet Potato Rolls but they put eel sauce on these. Just leave it off and it will be okay. The hibachi selections also include one with tofu. A lot to get here. There's also tons of noodles and other stuff. Has quite a big menu of many choices. It's closed Tuesdays. There's a few things okay for vegetarians.
