We ordered Smokin' Joe's for dinner Friday night through Just Eat. The service was great - our food was on time and the driver was friendly. Unfortunately the quality of the food was not great. The poutine is awful. We ordered a regular poutine and we were lucky if there were 5-6 cheese curds on the entire poutine. The gravy comes on the side, which is nice, but it is flavorless and gross. My husband ordered the ribs and wings combo and they were overcooked and chewy. The chicken fingers were good but they couldn't redeem the entire meal. We ended up throwing out our fries, poutine and half of the ribs and chicken wings be I won't be eating at Smokin' Joe's again. I feel like the food quality has taken a nose dive and it definitely wasn't worth the $60 we paid. Extremely disappointed. read more

Is the food Michelin Star quality, the best you have ever tasted in your life. Probably not. It is really good though. Their pulled pork is delicious. The portion sizes are good. Unlimited fries, and they do have nice fries. Fast service. Very friendly staff. I have been here a few times and really have nothing negative to say, not even a well meaning suggestion. This is a small "hole in the wall" type restaurant, and I love it when I find a small place like this. I have only gone in and ordered at a table, but I see that you can call in and order take out. When it was Cuzin Orville's, the guys at the garage ate there several times a month. As soon as the new owners took over it took a nosedive!! Pulled pork portions were literally cut in half and no more big pickle wedge. They went from over flowing the bun and needing a fork, to not even knowing what was under the bun unless you lifted it, and a crappy little pickle slice, like you get on a McDonalds burger, and to top it off, the prices went up!! Needless to say, we all stopped going immediately. No second chance for chinsing out like that!! That was a while back now, but it still bugs me enuff to write this review this much later. Went to Joe's on a Groupon and had a great yummy meal. Great burgers and sandwiches most dishes come with coleslaw. Pretty much Pub Grub but in a restaurant instead of a pub. Ordered a greek salad to off-set the grease and got some veggies on lettuce. Where I come from greek salads don't have lettuce in them. Not bad but not great just middle of the road. read more

Seems like the food has really gone down hill. Had the pulled pork and it didn't seem very fresh and wasn't very hot. Service as well didn't seem to be as friendly. Was having fish and chips for dinner and figured this place would have Good coleslaw so i dropped on on my way home to pick up a container. There were 2 people ahead of me waiting for their take out. They made me wait close to 15 minutes for someone to open a fridge and put a large container of slaw in a bag. The staff are a bunch of kids with no supervision. While I do support hiring young people, if you let them run your business their way...I doubt business will boom. I've heard others in the hood tell me the food is terrible and after seeing how it's run, I think I know why. read more

On December 4, 2013, two of us went to Smokin Joe's for dinner. The day's special was a half rack of ribs with fries and slaw, so we both ordered that. When the food arrived, we found that the meat was inedible. It was so tough it was impossible to cut, and after one bite we realized it was even too difficult to chew. Tougher than leather!! There was only one other table in the restaurant at the time, and it was obvious that they too were having the same problem with their meals. They could not eat their ribs either, and had already made Smokin Joes aware of the problem (but that didn't stop them from serving the same food to us)! We flagged down the server and told her the issue. We asked if we could order something else. She took the plates away and never returned to see if we wanted to order anything else. After a while, we got up and paid for our fries that came with the meal and our fountain pop. She charged is $13.00 for the French fries and 2 pops. As the other table got up to leave, they told us she charged them full price for the meals that were still sitting on their table, too tough and unappetizing to eat. We will NEVER go back, and neither will the other patrons, they said. Our experience was a combination of extremely poor, unedible food quality, coupled with abhorrent service. We left hungry. It would have been easy for Smokin Joe's to turn this around into a positive experience for everyone - they could have said no charge for the pop, they could have apologized for the crappy food, they could have been kind and sympathetic, they could have offered to get us something else off the menu, they could have even said I'm so sorry about your experience tonight, please return again and we'll show you what we're all about and have a better experience on us - BUT NO....this didn't happen. And 5 customers walked out that night who will never return. Judging by what happened, I am sure we weren't the only ones! read more

I ordered the Chicken Fingers with a Caesar Salad and a side of Mac-N-Cheese. It was delivered quicker that quoted but.... everything supposed to be hot was cold and everything cold was warm. Also they sent me a bottle it requires a bottle opener. Really? How about no utensils no napkins. Obviously I'm in a hotel I don't have those things people. We wanted to try the "new" restaurant in town. It used to be cuzin orville's smokehouse. My husband and 2 year old like to find nice family restaurants. This place is nice and cozy although some of the decor I think leaves some to be desired. It is overdone in terms of having way too much on their walls. Anyway we seated ourselves and the server offered us a booster chair for our daughter. We gave our orders. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich with fries, cornbread and a coke. I ordered a burger with fries, cornbread and a sprite and a small kids burger and fries for our daughter. The food did take almost 45 minutes to arrive, and in such a small restaurant with only 2 other tables occupied, it was much longer than we expected. The owner did come by and greet us, informing us of how great the pulled pork and burgers were. So naturally when we got our food we were expecting it to be super delicious. The pulled pork and fries were definitely good, but the burgers were excessively salty and the cornbread dry and stale. I had to take my daughter to the bathroom after our supper. The small hallway was cluttered with extra chairs and a few other things and I was disappointed to find there was no change table in the bathroom. In the end I thought the food was overpriced for the lower quality,, the decor awful and cleanliness not so good. read more

Thought this place was very mediocre overall. The wings were good, but the ribs were quite dry. The poutine consisted of some fries in a container and some cheese curds (not nearly enough) on the side, as well as the gravy. They didn't even make the effort to melt the cheese, so there was still work to be done once they arrive to our house. When I order take-out, I don't expect to have to do extra cooking, I just want the food to be ready to eat. The cheese was bland, as was the gravy. Unless it is for wings, we will not be ordering again. read more
