The sides are also a little bit unique in the sense that the vegetable sides also have added bacon, which is great to see. I personally love to see hush puppies, which is a very antiquated and rare to find option for food. And they did not disappoint. Overall, I would say from the sampler of the ribs and the chicken were fantastic as well as the pulled pork. The brisket was OK, but did not necessarily stand out. We did try four different barbecue sauces, which were all fantastic. The hush puppies as I stated earlier were absolutely delicious and I would come back just for these. We also got the corn pudding, which was a little bit on the sweeter side, but made and baked fresh just like everything else here. And this was a great alternative to cornbread. To top it all off, the staff here was so super nice, especially the young man at the counter when you first walked in as he also offered up a sample of the corn pudding because I've never heard of corn pudding nor did I ever tried it and this was also my first visit. Also a nice touch I saw is they sold farm fresh eggs. My only two critiques would be phone etiquette and inventorying expired product. We called ahead of time to make sure the restaurant was open with it being a holiday weekend. Once the phone was answered on the other end, it was silent for about 30 seconds then we were given just a "Hello?". We had to confirm we were calling Cherry Red Roasters instead of calling someone's personal phone. We were given sour cream I believe in a packet to go with our nachos, but the expiry date on the packet was 5/13/2025 when the date we dinned was 5/25/2025.
