I am very particular about my ribs and usually don't eat anyone's but when my husband makes his. Their ribs are very good. My mom and dad come here to get their turbo nachos that they really love. I've been coming to this place for years and every time I go back it's a little nostalgic. The decor is "thrown" together and funky. The staff has the whole "southern hospitality" thing down. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but the fan favorites tend to be the hillbilly tacos and the smoked wings. Apparently the wings are a patented butter dry rub and I gotta say they taste amazing. Full of flavor and tender. Family decided to try the local BBQ spot while visiting Winder. We were seated quickly and everyone was friendly. Waitress answered questions and was helpful. Typical BBQ place with fun decor around. The sauces caught our eye first as there are 6 specialty sauces with unique names/flavors. Everything we ordered was very good. I loved their chopped brisket and fried okra! Food has always been excellent until my visit July 14. Pulled pork was dry and bun was too stale to chew. Potato salad was delicious. Service quick and friendly, as always. Friendly staff, good portions for the price, and most importantly, DELICIOUS food! The chopped chicken and pulled pork were super moist and smoky. Even my 18 month old approved! I reviewed Smokin-Po-Boys back in 2014 and not much has changed. The pulled pork is still excellent. I think they have even more sauce choices now and so if you have a preference in sauce you're likely to find it here. But the sides are still lacking. We tried the Onion rings and the breading was falling off and greasy. The Brunswick stew lacked flavor. The fried okra was just OK. Overall still just OK. read more

We met some friends, and they said the wings are the best, so we went with 10 wings half dry rub, and half with the "kitchen sink" sauce. We ordered a full rack of ribs to share, and two other people ordered the pulled pork sandwich with sides. This restaurant has GREAT bbq! I mean, the ribs were fantastic. Love the dry rub on them and the perfect smoked flavor. Add your own sauce. Wings were also fantastic! Loved the "kitchen sink" sauce which is all of their hot wing sauces combined. I loved every finger lickin good bite. Haha But seriously, great food. This place is pure bbq style, nothing fancy about it. So when my somewhere in a mood for bbq I try to entertain it as much as possible. I'm always chasing that taste I'm use to from the past I grew up with. These guys have got it down pretty good. From the ribs, to the pulled pork sandwich and to the Brunswick stew. Not bad, not bad atol as I would say. Yes I meant to spell it that way. The Brunswick is always the main thing I'm after. No one makes it as good as my granny did who lived in Loganville ga. So wished she was still around because that was some of the freshest home cooking straight out of her garden. They also raised and processed their own hogs. So I know the difference between grain fed and slop fed hogs. Slop fed is so much tastier. But sometimes I run across what seems to have that farm raised smell and taste. It all depends on where the pig came from. This place has a tasty meat which has a hint of that smell and taste.
