When I got my receipt I was charged $16.99 when I ask her she said so what the price went up... also I was charged $ 1.00 for a drink. When I tried to talk to her she had smart comments and rolled her eyes. I mean should you tell someone or change your menu??? It was a Tuesday, so I was able to grab the 6pc Combo. 6pc wings, fries and a drink. I possibly could have given them five stars, but the wings and fries were burning hot. Temperature-wise, not spicy. I was in a rush, so I couldn't wait for them to cool down. I appreciate the freshness, but not the temp. I ordered the smoked Slap Ya Mama wings. They were ok. A bit more salt that I'd like. Not sure if they were fried then 'smoked' or what, but the meat wasn't as juicy as I'd imagine smoked meat would be. It was rather dry. The fries were great! Hot too, but good. Reminded me of Claflin cafe fries. The sweet tea-lemonade was too sweet. So in the refill, I got only the tea. I've had food at the Smokin' Wings on Southport Rd where Quizno's used to be and I liked their smoked wings quite a bit. But I never ate at their flagship location in the Westgate mall food court until today. And I was thoroughly impressed. They've got specials on wings every Monday where they're discounted to 60 cents, and they have wing combos served with a side and a drink. Believe me when I say a 6pc wing combo is worth your $10, because it is. Holy schnikies, do they have a robust selection of sauces to choose from, and honestly I have not eaten there enough to give any recommendations. Just stare the menu in the eyes and go for it. Their fried wings are huge and meaty! I love that their fries are of the crinkle cut style too... And they're seasoned. To be honest I thought this was going to be a low-quality, run of the mill fast food place, given I have seen businesses in Westgate flop like a bat out of hell. But no, Smokin' Wings is rockin'! Stopped in the mall on the way back from a student conference. Most of the group went to the regular places, I'm so glad I gave Smokin Wings a shot. They had tons of options on sauces. I'm a dry rub fan and they had the most dry rubs I have ever seen at one location. You can get your wings smoked or fried. The smoked are my favorite and have a tremendous flavor. We got the twelve wing combo with the dry buffalo rub. It came with fries and ranch. We also got a piece of the delicious strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. I love wings and these are some of the best I've had in a long time. The biggest surprise was that the place is in a mall food court! The chicken was super fresh, no frozen flavor at all, and super juicy. The ranch tasted like homemade and it was a perfect compliment for the seasoned fries and wings. Everything that came out to our group was hot and incredibly tasty! Next time we are passing through, we will be back to Smokin Wings!! Want to brag on the staff as well, they were super friendly and very patient with several of our students that ordered before us. Such a great team with huge smiles and fantastic customer service! Today I ate there and completed my online order at 11:31 am with full expectations of receiving my order around 12:01 when my email said I would receive it. That wasn't the case, instead, I received my order after walking up there again and checking up on them and seeing my box of food placed in a bag full of orders. Why is that, well my guess is as good as yours. No sense of pep in anyone's step. Not saying don't go there, but be ready to babysit to get your food in a decent amount of time. Wow... never would have though mall food would be an acceptable place to get my wings from!!! Found my new favorite wing joint! Stopped by after some early morning Christmas shopping. The hunger bug bit and yelp was my cure. The selection was sooooooo large. Almost impossible to make a decision. Had to goto yelp to narrow the selections and one of the pics told me what to get!!!! I ordered a ten piece combo meal with half fried and half smoked wings. The sauce was pineapple habanero with ranch and fries for my side. Don't be in a rush. I was there early and there was only one other order before me. I sat for awhile waiting for my wings. It took about 10-15 mins to come out. But the wait was worth it.... The wings were excellent. They are not anorexic meatless wings. These things were jumbo, juicy and flavorful. The wings came out hot (temp). The sauce was flavorful and not super hot. They could use a little more heat,but were super satisfying!!!! The ranch complemented it but next time I think I will skip it and just have super saucy wings. My recommendation is to get the smoked wings. These things had an awesome flavor and were hands down my favorite. The fries were generic crinkle cut fries done right. The seasoning was fantastic and were crispy. The price is a little bit expensive but for the quantity and quality of food you get can't be beat. I had four wings left to bring back home for a late afternoon snack. One thing this place is missing is beer. I know since it is in an mall this might not be able to happen. Honey BBQ - your average BBQ sauce flavor, fine but nothing special. Louisiana Honey Mustard - really good especially with blue cheese dressing. Kickin Bourbon - another awesome flavor better without blue cheese dressing in my opinion though. Wings are all pretty good size too. The Cole slaw was different, I really liked it especially since it isn't that neon yellow stuff so many places serve. Onion rings had a nice light batter on them, really good.
