They made everything incredibly easy cooked at their site and delivered right on time and food was extra hot so I could enjoy my daughter's party. We ordered the chicken, ribs, salad scalloped potatoes and the jalapeño poppers. The chicken was so juicy and the ribs were outstanding great flavor and fall right off the bone! The scalloped potatoes were delicious and the poppers went fast for appitizers! All the guests raved about how good the lunch was and wanted to take pictures of the business card for the future! Not sure on this catering company. We had them cater for our wedding that ended up not correctly done that was in the contract. We loved the food on the tasting we tried but during the wedding the food was completely different. The food was dry and the only thing I could personally eat was the Mac and cheese. We expressed our concern to the owners after the fact and they apologized completely which was nice and made immediate corrections. We talked about some things that broke contract and how dry the food was and she was very nice until we started talking about a partial refund. She expressed what number should be on the refund but we weren't sure and then she finally gave us a number of a refund and said this is "the only thing you're getting back and nothing more". My concern was they broke contract and the proteins was awful. The owner stated the proteins were dry due to taking a while for transportation and the wedding timeline was delayed. We expressed our concern that the food was almost inedible unless you drank water but she was very defensive on saying because of our delayed timeline and the time for transporting was our issue. I've had many other events catered and had things delayed or longer transportation times and all the food was perfect. I honestly left it at that with the owner, I'm not gonna go back and forth with someone so defending without her actually trying the food during the time of the wedding. Key points If your wedding is delayed longer than 30 minutes the food will be dry If your event is held on long travel times for them the food will be dry. Other than these two issues she has corrected her staff that broke the contract agreements. Although because of the broken contract, the following day took us an additional 3 hours of work and other vendors had to help support us during the wedding day from the contract they broke. read more

Smokin' Yankees was the food vendor at an event in Stockton at Lincoln center a few months ago and I saw them once again at Eagle's Nest Harley Davidson. I looked to yelp them and noticed they weren't on here so I grabbed a couple of cards and this is what I think. The two events were total opposites. LC was so many people I was lucky to get my plate. I had the chicken served with beans, slaw and bread for $10. The chicken was moist as could be, great smoke flavor and the portions were big. My son had the pulled pork sandwich. It was tender, light on the smoke with that touch of bark we all like to really set it off. Now, I know bbq and this is some of the best I have had. They should have their own restaurant. Now at the ENHD event to my surprise there were no crowds so we had Smokin' Yankees to ourselves. They served the same great food and with bbq it's the little things that matter. They had wipes for when you were done eating now that's looking out for your clients. They do events like this, bbq competitions and cater to your get together or office. The ribs were fall off the bone, the salad was fresh, and although I didn't get to try any, the mac-n-cheese was apparently amazing! They also decorated the buffet area so beautifully. We first tried out the Yankees catering a couple years ago. Since then we have used their services to cater office events. Usually about twice a year. My staff and I really look forward to eating their food! I have also asked them to cater birthday parties and one wedding. Their food is second to none. Whether it is chicken or tri tip they make excellent BBQ. Their sides are really good too. They make a stuffed and bacon wrapped jalapeño that is to die for. As far as presentation and service they are very professional. They run on time. They use quality serving platters and provide everything a gathering of friends or coworkers needs in a low stress manner. Even my brothers wedding was catered by the Yankees. It looked great and we received lots of compliments for them on behalf of our guests. Cost for their services are fair and they are reasonable about working with you. At the recommendation of a friend who used them for their wedding, I booked Smokin' Yankees for 2 work events that I was in charge of. I did notice there was a definite lag in communication, but Bekah was always pleasurable when I talked to her so I over looked it. The menu had a wide variety and was decently priced. Our first event went off without a hitch and everything was great. There were mixed reviews on the food, but for the most part everyone liked it and the service was great. The second event was scheduled 2 weeks later for a separate one of our locations. The company showed up 40 minutes late, no phone call or heads up, we had guests arriving and no linens on the tables. I called the number provided and there was no answer, no call back. After they showed up and the food was served, it was actually completely the wrong menu. We were supposed to have brisket, tri-tip, pasta and a garden salad with cheese cake. Instead, we received tri tip, chicken, scallop potatoes, Cajun corn, chocolate cake and apple pie. Additionally, I had confirmed and re-confirmed 5 vegetarian plates and did not receive any of them, which meant 5 of our guests did not eat. Then when I contacted Bekah to let her know what happened, not even a response back. It was not only stressful to experience this issue at a company event, but also extremely disappointing and embarrassing that this was what we provided to our employees. read more

Love love love me some smokin' Yankees. We are fortunate to have them come out to my job during the week and they set up rain or shine with a different menu daily. That being said, I have tried the pork, the brisket, the tri tip, the cole slaw, and the chili with brisket. (Don't judge me! I said they come out DAILY) They have not let me down yet! Everything is tender and the sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I honestly couldn't tell you which meat is my favorite but I can tell you that though the menu is switched daily, I never worry about it being something I don't like. The reason for that 5th star??? We had Smokin' Yankees BBQ do the catering for our Daughter and Son's combined College/High School graduation party, we had their smoked chicken, pulled pork, jalapeno poppers, BBQ meatballs, cheesy bacon scalloped potatoes, salad, fruit and veggie tray and their apple cobbler for dessert. the pulled pork was moist, flavorful and with their home-made BBQ sauce was outstanding. Once again our family Thanksgiving dinner was outstanding thanks to Smokin' Yankees Bbq. We ordered 2 smoked turkeys and a ham from Bekah and as always it was absolutely delicious. I love how moist and tasty her smoked turkey is but the ham was without a doubt the best tasting ham I have ever eaten. It was a major favorite of everybody at our table. We chose to have Bekah and the Smokin Yankee crew cater our wedding in Newcastle. We drove to stockton and were met with a delicious tasting menu. My wife and I knew that right after we left, we had to go with Smokin Yankee. From the first e mail to the day of our wedding, Bekah was in close communication with us and made sure we had the timeline just right so the food was hot off the grill. They made everything very painless for us and we had more than enough food for everyone. The brisket was probably the best I have ever had, and the bacon wrapped meatballs were delicious! Side note, I have been going to the Best of the West rib cook off in Sparks since I was in College over 13 years ago. I've had my share of top notch BBQ and Smokin Yankee was better than those in Sparks... Period. I really wish they would compete up there!
