This is located right next to Club Pilates, Yummefy, Taco Mama and more. I like this place because after the Pilates class, it's easy to grab a drink to go. I usually get a lean 1 20oz chocolate. It's a perfect size for me. The down side of this place is that, they provide only street parking. So you have to look out for parking during rush hours. Really expensive smoothie that was no where near what I asked for. She said I could customize one of their already existing smoothies. I left my homemade smoothie at home and didn't want to cheat on my cleanse. By the time we deleted and added the items I wanted in my smoothie I could have just cheated on the cleanse. This location is near UAB but I sadly can't get a UAB mug. I can get a UA and Alburn mugs but no UAB and it's located right off of the campus. What is wrong with these people?!?! I'm a UAB alumni but can't support my school even though I'm close to campus. The kids that work in the store know nothing about the products they are putting in the smoothies. I tried to ask several questions about the low-calorie, low-sugar options, and they weren't able to tell me the nutritional content of the powders they were putting in my smoothie. They kept referencing me to the jars on the wall while still telling me that those are not the exact same as what goes in the smoothies. Only one young lady was actually attempting to be helpful, the rest of the surplus staff seemed to just want to get back to their phones. Had to go get a smoothie after a pretty rough dentist appt. Wasnt sure what to order so I tried the Pineapple Spinach smoothie. As a Planet Smoothie drinker for years, I was really interested to see how Smoothie King measured up. They have two tables up front so you might be able to sit inside, but many people just take it and go. Just like P.S., they have a ton of different smoothies to address your individual health needs. From fitness blends to help you build muscle, to low calorie slim blends, to wellness blends when you're just feeling a little under the weather, they seem to have it all. I had just finished eating dinner at Taco Mama next door and was feeling in the mood for a slim blend that would still satisfy a sweet tooth. I got the Slim-n-Trim vanilla smoothie. There were so many vanilla smoothie options, and I just chose the one with the fewest calories. Kinda wish I didn't. It tasted more like chemicals than vanilla and banana. I definitely wouldn't get this particular one again. I tried a little bit of my friend's Berry Punch (a wellness smoothie) and it was so delicious! So my best advice is, splurge on the calories! There will be plenty of other times when you can count your calories. They even have a section called "Take a Break" blends, and when I asked the worker she basically said those are the delicious fattening ones! read more

They got me. Smoothie King got me! I'm hooked. They have smoothies for every area of fitness. Currently I'm gaining weight and building muscle, so I get The Hulk - strawberry. It's a high calorie, high protein smoothie and it's delicious! When summer comes around and I start cutting off my excess weight I will no doubt be back for the slim down smoothies which are even tastier. My wife has swallowing problems and drinks a Smoothie King hulk daily. I was worried about a good location when we see her MD in Birmingham every 90 days and went to this location which is nearby. The manager gave me some ideas to increase the caloric intake and my wife loves it so I am very appreciative of the suggestion. The store manager remembers me every time I return and the drinks are among the best we have had in the smoothie king chain.
