I have visited here many times. My most recent visit will be my last. I ordered a 32oz smoothie in the same flavor I've had a dozen times. I got in my car and drove off onto the highway. I took a few sips and it tasted really off as if it had a cleaning solution flavor. I was already on the highway and didn't have time to deal with it so I put it in my freezer when I got home and went back a few days later with my full smoothie cup. I told the guy behind the counter what had happened and he said he would have to ask his manager and went to the back. He came back and said "yeah I can't do it". I said I came in there all the time and it tasted bad. He told me I should've called or come back in the day I bought it. Very short sighted of them because I came in a couple of times a month. Having just worked out I felt a little less guilty with my selection from the slim blend line up. Great combination of flavors with a light, but filling end result. In a 32 oz smoothie it contains 330 calories, 1.5g fat, 82g carbs and 6g protein. Staff was really friendly and the store was clean. I come to this smoothie king almost every single morning & have always had the sweetest employees. They usually know my order the moment I come in & I make sure to drive from wherever I'm working that day to come to this one. But, this morning, the employee could not act more disgusted in my presence. Did not speak, just stared at me like we were in some type of stand off, didn't seem to care that I left & didn't order anything. Almost as if she wanted the reaction. I worked in food for 8 years & even I knew that I signed up for the job I was at & did not need to act like I hated my life. It is ridiculous when you don't provide a public restroom to people paying your bills. (The one in Homewood, AL). I personally do not care for smoothies but my kid does. As far as the smoothie goes these are good in his opinion, but service could be nicer here at the one in Homewood. Have had better service at other Smoothie Kings though. read more

This Smoothie King is located in downtown Homewood. The staff is very friendly and seem to be knowledgeable about the ingredients in the smoothies and other products. Like other locations in town, this location has $5 Fridays, so you can get regular 32oz smoothies for $5 and meal replacement smoothies for $6. It's a great savings if you frequent visitor! read more

I love having this place in between work and home. If I'm ever in need of a healthy snack, it's a great option. While there are a thousand things to choose from, the menu does a good job of showing you what is healthy and what is made for indulgence. You can always ad things like "energy boosters" to your smoothies as well. For the most part, the young folks that work here are pretty nice and professional. I understand Friday's May be a bit busier than other days because of the $5 medium promotion, however, what I witnessed this morning was unacceptable. Three workers 6 people waiting in line and not one employee acknowledged the wait. I waited 8 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Usually smoothie kings are efficient with their stores so I'm not sure if someone was being trained or wasn't aware of how to do certain things but today's visit was definitely a miss. Had a bad experience here unfortunately. Arrived at 7:30p on a Wednesday evening. There was only one other person in line before me but yet it still took 15 minutes to order & get my drink? The employees were more focused on the latest gossip than making smoothies... While I was waiting to order I could feel on of the employees staring at me while sitting on the counter then he proceeded to walk past me (galley way is quite small) to take a bottle of water from the fridge. While he was right in front of me he stopped and said "wow, nice shirt" while looking down it. I felt violated. Will NEVER return to this location. They are efficient, and the smoothies are delicious. However, I did not receive good customer service during my most recent visit. The cashier first seemed irritated with the customer in front of me as she looked at the menu. Then, when I got to the register, I had a couple of questions about different flavors, and she seemed very irritated that she had to answer questions, which she rushed through and did not give me clear answers. Therefore, I ordered something that did not even have the ingredient for which I asked. When I went back to the register to order a second smoothie (since the first one was not what I wanted), she was not displease and once again, rushed through my order. WOW!!! This new Smoothie King just opened RIGHT ACROSS from where I work at the hospital (707 Richard Arrington) and it is FANTASTIC! I've never seen a smoothie made so FAST...and they have obviously trained these guys because they just could not have been friendlier. Finally...I don't have to drive 25 minutes out of the way for my smoothie. They also had a bunch of other stuff there too...can't believe something like this has me so fired up! read more

I'm writing this review to alert the management: My husband and I drove 25 minutes to get a smoothie... Pregnancy craving of the day. At 8:50 we walk in and are told they're closed. The sign still says open and the hours say you're open until 9. But your staff decided to close before time. I explained I was pregnant and that it was 8:50 and they shook their heads.
