This was our go to smoothie king for almost 6 months while we were living in the area. We always ordered through the app and only had two instances where we were like "who made this? This doesn't taste like it should, close, but not correct" nothing to off complain over though. BUT since moving we only frequent this one every so often when in the area and on one instance we ordered exactly what we always do, in a size large, like we always do. Before the gentleman handed us our drinks I saw him look at the top of the cups for the name and what they were, pick one up to look at it closer, then look behind him at the other employee who was turned away. He then opened the window and handed us our two drinks. I wrote all of this seemingly useless information out because he handed us two mediums in a cup that was not styrofoam. The size isn't what tippy me off to them being wrong at first. It was the non-styrofoam cup. So I ask him. "Oh did y'all start using new cups for the larges?" and he said "no. Same cups" and just looked at me like I was supposed to agree with that answer because he was being too lazy to fix the mistake. I called him out on it and he stood his ground. Whatever. The real frustrating part was actually the fact that there is no place to give a complaint on the smoothie king app and what's listed online to send complaints, which I did send one, I never received any response too. THAT is the most annoying part in this long winded story. Anyways, overall the staff is great and there hasn't been issues with waiting too long or anything else worth mentioning. There is this soft spoken young man that was at the window often who was always very polite and whomever put him on the window is doing him a good service in learning to speak up and be heard. The quiet ones need to be pushed into the uncomfortable spaces sometimes so they can find their voice into adulthood. We were all kids once. Your first job always kinda sucks, but you'll remember it forever and take those lessons and experiences with you for just as long. read more

I made the mistake of not eating dinner nor having the energy of making Sunday breakfast, but with a full day ahead of me, this Coffee High Protein Almond Mocha was JUST what I needed. The staff may not have been the friendliest (when I walked in there was no greeting and when I was confused about the toast options signage, the woman's clarifying response was almost inaudible), but the smoothie made by the gentleman was perfectly made. The store was clean and had lots of holiday decor that made up for an otherwise somber mood. I'm glad that I had $2 off in my rewards app bringing my tools from $7.50 to $5.50. I even grabbed some material for my junk journal -- the napkins reading "Power Your Potential" was the perfect reminder on how I aim to start/end my week. read more

This location is consistently slow every time I come. This last visit was horrible. Upon arrival there were 3 cars ahead of me. After ordering, I waited in line 20 mins before I made it to the window. Once, I was at the window - I wait another 10 mins. 30 minutes at smoothie king is unheard of. There were 3 people working. Everyone was chilling, talking and laughing which now made since why I was still here 30 minutes later. Not only were they in their own world - they were drinking smoothies smh. This location is an absolute disaster. It has had its issues over the years, around a year ago, things had gotten so bad that a "fix-it" manager was temporarily brought in to get the store on track. He did a great job and things were good for a long time. He passed off the manager role to someone who did a pretty decent job controlling this store in a location that makes it challenging for many businesses to find good staff. The last 3 months, I think there has been another management change. Service has gone to an absolutely unacceptable standard. It's significantly worse on the weekends. I call this store terrible and give it one star which is harsh but they are bad on many levels. 1) Smoothies are Made Inconsistently and Incorrectly I ordered the same smoothie 4 days in a row. Same ingredients, same protein powder. All 4 were very different. Two, without a doubt had much less or none of the protein powder they were supposed to contain (not a missing "scoop" of powder but the entire or most of the 46g protein base of the Gladiator smoothie). When getting the smoothies and putting a lot of effort into reading the nutrition of each smoothie and then not getting what you order is damaging to diets and nutrition plans. 2) Staff is Rude The staff here is downright rude. This isn't the bargain smoothie hut. Is there a reason the employees cannot say hi, thank you, enjoy, sorry for the wait, good morning... anything pleasant? Most of the time I say my name and that I have a mobile order at the speaker. Several times I have gotten the response "OK". Not can you pull up, come to the window. Nothing. Often I arrive at the window to get my smoothie and have the experience I had today which is ... an arm out the window with my drink. NO thank you, no apology for waiting, NO CONFIRMING ITS MINE, nothing. Every other drive through from Starbucks to Taco Bell holds their employees to a higher standard and has common curtesies their staff is required to say. 3) The Store is Slow Often I show up not long after placing my order and I don't expect it to be ready. I also don't consider it a problem because it still saves time over giving the order over the speaker. Multiple times this week, including today, I have placed the order well ahead of time, waited 10 minutes, headed to the store and arrived at my designated pickup time. Today, I waited in line for 17 minutes (not including time before and at the speaker) for a drink that should have been ready the minute I arrived. There were 2 cars in front of me with one smoothie each. There was one person in the store who left with 3 smoothies. I don't even see making all of that taking 17 minutes but it did and I got to wait through all of it. That's the second time this week I have had a similar experience. I smile and I am polite because I go here 7 days a week unless I am out of town. It's gotten to the point it's absolutely out of control. I am beyond irritated. I literally purchased $400 in Smoothie King gift cards yesterday. I like to go to this location daily. I feel Iike I have to find a new location. I am even attaching a screenshot to show I am not exaggerating my loyalty to this location but to get treated like garbage on a daily basis while paying over $7 a day for a small smoothie has gotten extremely old. read more

The location is kind of convenient because its on westheimer. That was about the extent of the positives I could find for this location. I get that having to work on a chilly sunday morning might not be the way you want to spend your day. But if that's your job then you owe it to your employer to at least make an effort to provide some semblance of acceptable service. I've been to several smoothie kings throughout the city - this is by far the worst one. I would drive a little further than come back to this location. I just had the worst customer service experience at this location. I went through the drive up, and the employee did not even greet me. It seemed like she just turned on the intercom and expected me to start placing my order. I can hear her and the other employees chatting in the background. I was silent because I figured she was probably multitasking and helping another client. I thought surely she'd acknowledge me with a greeting. Then, after like a minute of hearing her chat with co workers, she just asked "are you ready to place your order?" I thought to myself, "damn ok. Not even a "hi how are you?" Or a "what can I get you started with?" I placed my order and she just gave me my total and that was it. I assumed it was ok to drive up to the window. I sat at the window for at least 3-5 minutes. I can see the employees just chatting. But, maybe they were talking about work? Who knows?! It seemed longer than 5 minutes, but I'll be nice and say it was 3-5. I finally get my drink, and she barely even opened the window and just handed my drink to me. Not even a "thank you", or "have a nice day", or "here you go". Nothing. I sat there to see if she'd even make eye contact with me because at this point I was frustrated. She didn't. She just simply closed the window. I drove off and thought "she must hate her job". As I'm driving, I taste my drink and it tastes AWFUL!!!! Literally, the worst drink ever. I always order the cinnamon banana power meal and this just tastes like frozen milk. I thought about driving back, but if I did, I'd step down to her level and be rude, and that is not how I wanted my day to go. It's just a drink. I felt like even driving to another location to get a new drink, but I'll take the hit on this one. This employee should either get a new job, or go through training videos on how to acknowledge a client...the basics of customer service. I work in the customer service industry, and this is an example in those training videos of what "not to do". I'll describe the employee so if she reads this, she'll know it was her. I decided to stop I'm this after for a healthy smoothie. If you weren't aware on Friday you can purchase a $5 smoothie for a 32 oz. The smoothies with the initials ex: MR don't qualify for the price. Since I received an email I decided to purchase the "Daily Warrior" smoothie. Gross don't get it taste like a peanut butter smoothie. I dont get all the hate, maybe I started coming after they changed management but I literally love this smoothie king. Im a very loyal customer, down to the store number I go to and this one is close because it's by my job for lunch breaks. I always get a Lemon Twist, no papaya juice, sub pineapple apple. I recently added protein based off their reccomendation. Yeah, they're made to order but I'm not so impatient that I can't *WAIT* for people to make me a great drink. If you haven't budgeted time out of your lunch or day to have a drink made however long its going to take then that is a YOU problem. And to that lady who was worried about how fast other people BEHIND her got their stuff, girl You sound hateful. I hate to do a bad review but this was absolutely the most hot garbage service I have ever received. These four Millennial girls were literally having a social hour while on the clock. Went in to grab a smoothie for my kid before school. Was greeted with giggling and horseplay. Once I received the smoothie it wasn't filled up. I showed her she says, "it just has to be to the line ma'am!" It clearly was not at the line and because I don't Harass people who make my food I just took it. I always try to make this location work especially because my office is so close but they disappoint EVERY SINGLE TIME.
