Went to smoothie mania for the first time today. It was wonderful, I went with a strawberry/peach smoothie. It was so good I went back again and got two more. Service was quick and flawless and I will return again tomorrow. I actually forgot to get one of the boost that can be added to your selection. The atmosphere was wonderful, and relaxing. I definitely have a taste for a good smoothie, and these seasoned tastebuds are professionals in scoping out the best smoothie bars. Smoothie mania is good! I've heard so many nice things about this place, so I decided to stop in. I think that they are in a perfect location especially for those of us that work and play in the Downtown area. I can literally walk over here from my job in under 10 minutes, shoot up Dillard's escalators and be right at their location. When I arrived, I didn't know what I wanted so, I'm glad that they list the ingredients to all of their smoothies on large laminated photos for you to view. I got the blueberry blossom cheesecake (I think that's the name), because I saw my friend on Instagram with one. It was very decadent, almost like a dessert - sweet, rich, and filing - for a smoothie... I was impressed! The staff was courteous and friendly. The juices are not freshly squeezed or juiced in front of the customer so you don't know the actual ingredients. I purchased 2 different juice drinks . Sever went into back room came out with already prepared juices. I didn't know they weren't fresh until I opened to taste. As a juicer I think the taste of the ABC juice sold by this business taste like it was poured from a commercial vat of pasteurized juices then placed in a 16oz bottle and their logo place on the 16oz to go bottle. The ABC juice is not freshly squeezed neither is the Green juice. Save your monies go purchase your own produce and juice at home or visit an authentic juice bar. read more

This is about to be my go to place every time I visit MacArthur Mall. You know like those Starbucks lovers, I'm about to be a lover of Smoothie Mania!!! Rewards card please!! The spot is located on the 2nd (I believe) floor near Dillard's and Payless shoe store. It's sorta hidden. So it's like if you don't already know about it, you probably wouldn't notice it unless you come down this end of the floor. The food court is located on the 3rd floor and Starbucks is located in the center of the 1st floor. I mentioned these locations because it's super easy to see these no matter what. If you want food you'll immediately head to the floor with food. Same for Starbucks and Aunt Annie's can't miss them. Nevertheless, if you love smoothies find this place and go! The smoothies are pretty healthy meaning I don't find that they use added sugars for sweeteners. I ordered the green smoothies on numerous occasions and besides the natural sugars from the fresh fruit they use, one smoothie may contain a small block of cheesecake which would be the added sugar. So if I had to guess I'd say it's about 13g of sugars. This isn't too bad if this is your sugar intake for the day. But if you wish to hv no sugar at all, they can arrange that. I have yet to indulge in a smoothie I didn't like from here. So why not 5 stars... I ordered a smoothie on a Saturday night and it was presented in a clear cup with a chocolate candy at the top. Wonderful presentation!! But I ordered the same smoothie Sunday afternoon and received it in a plain white cup and no chocolate! Huh... really...oooook So yeah I was a bit disappointed by that. I didn't ask why, but the presentation was so not the same. The smoothies are high on costs but well worth it. At times my daughter and I will split a large and that's perfectly fine. When he handed me my order I was surprised at the presentation - the smoothie was topped with a dollop of whipped cream, a perfectly sliced sliver of cheesecake and a spinach leaf! He also includes a free chocolate with your order which I thought was a nice touch. It's usually a Ferrero Rocher which is one of my favorites. The smoothies are also the perfect consistency, kind of like soft serve ice cream. The front of the counter has several posters with featured specialty smoothies, and it can be overwhelming for someone trying to order for the first time. But I do like how they have lots of choices and so far, all the smoothies I've gotten from them are amazing. They're super patient if you need time to think on what to order. He wanted something super dooper healthy so he got the green paradise smoothie ($6.99). And you know I just had to get me the greenberry cheesecake smoothie ( $8.99) with whip cream on top of course! Lol! After I paid for my order. They handed me a pineapple on a stick. I was like whhhhhatttt?!!! I get something free?! I was smiling ear to ear. Like a big kid... Lol! I sat and waited for my order of fabulous smoothies. My boyfriend was staring at me like aren't you going to share the pineapple on the stick with me. I was looking at him. Like the lady was looking at her husband on "Funny Farm.." Lol! But I decided not to be too greedy. Lol! My order came up pretty quick too. This was a recent discovery for us while walking around MacArthur Center. They were offering free samples, and as someone who rarely turns down free things, we tried their strawberry cheesecake creation and were hooked. The owner has a nutritionist license and packs all the smoothies with as much goodness as she can, but no amount of flax seeds or spinach can overpower the great flavors of the smoothies. I still have my skepticism about exactly how healthy the smoothie was because of the large slice of cheesecake they put in, but I really couldn't care less. Be ready to spend a pretty penny though because the smoothies are expensive. They are also large and honestly should replace at least a meal. read more

This is me and my friend's favorite smoothie spot. It really hits the spot on a hot summer day while perusing through the mall, actually it hits the spot on any day while perusing through the mall. There is a great arraignment of flavors here, so it's near impossible here to find a drink that will not float your boat. They also have "fruit chillers" which are the same great smoothie flavors but without the milk for those that cannot have dairy. I don't think I've ever had a bad smoothie here. Sure you have tropical smoothie down in Ghent and you know your favorite flavors so well that you walk in and they just ring you up. Don't you ever feel that their smoothies are just too sweet and in some ways taste a little synthetic? I don't know that's how I feel. Don't get me wrong, they have very tasty smoothies but sometimes I feel like I really need to be in the mood for them before I go. You'll probably easily miss this place in the MacArthur mall, but they are located next to a department store (I think it's Dillard's) and they are facing them as well. Unless you venture to this part of the mall, you're likely going to miss them. They are on the second story if I remember correctly. While they don't have the fancy names that they have at Jamba Juice or Tropical Smoothie, they tell you exactly what's in your drink. With 3 convenient sizes to choose from, they blend the fruit combination you choose into a perfect drink. While it's still sweet (it's a fruit smoothie after all), it somehow tastes more fresh and less synthetic. It's like something I would be able to make at home if I bought the freshest ingredients and if I had a juicer as well haha. You can add your "boosts" as well. I wish they had more business because they deserve more but I think location really hurts them. Come by and try especially during the hot Norfolk summers! read more

I have been coming here for years Mainly with my husband . And every once in awhile my mom or a sister . Today I brought my sister and kept telling her how I missed ( smoothie mania ) a particular smoothie place in MacArthur mall . I haven't been out much lately since the pandemic and also being 38 weeks pregnant but wanted to fulfill My craving and went on the mission to see if they were still Operating . After almost a year of not being here (because of pandemic ) I saw the beautiful lady who always has the brightest smile and is still soooo generous with samples . She aids in making my day honestly and that's why she is my last stop before heading home . They have cold press juices and teas now and they were so good I almost got sampled out and tried something else other than my usual blueberry blossom smoothie ( which is the point lol) ! My lil sis got the Green Juice smoothie which is packed with body beneficial fruits and roots like ginger , spinach, kale, lemon,etc... my hubby wasn't there but I also got him a fresh green juice. On top of my fav smoothie , 2 juices I also got her delicious chicken fresh homemade salad it also had greens , eggs and carrots, fruits and presented like a full meal there is also a great sauce that goes with it .Each smoothie , juice , tea and fresh food item lists what's inside and the benefits also she will inform you as well . She really made my day and I always love seeing her because it's such a travel from VA beach to that part of Norfolk so it makes it worth the trip . Smoothie mania is on the second floor by Dillard's so You have to turn the corner in order to see the shop . I wish she had a sign or shop more out in the open so many more can see her . I can tell people were curious as to what I was drinking but were on their way out the door as she is located by the exit . Next time don't be shy she is super nice also her husband works there too so you may see him . Either way they are kind people and will take care of you and whatever you get will be delicious . This place dishes out pretty expensive smoothies but I'm giving Smoothie Mania five stars because these smoothies are made with magic (and fresh ingredients + ingenuity). I swear it's as if there's always something new when I visit and most of the time it's yummy. (ps. The new "cheesecake" smoothies are insane !!! So good!!) On top of that, the owner of Smoothie Mania is this wonderful Korean woman who has magical powers as well .. Either that or my demeanor screams "perpetually hungry college girl" because almost every time I'd come here before my night classes, she would give me tons of smoothie samples and sometimes munchies like roasted pecans bathed in brown sugar and cinnamon (or whatever she prepares them in) enough to fill me up even before I order. Lol. I'm not complaining though. Even when I'm with my family, she would give us lots of samples. I find that extremely helpful because I then get a drink that I know I'll enjoy while not having to stick to the same old order which I usually tend to do a lot in other places.
