Updating my review to further express how great their açaí bowls are. This time I ordered online for pick up. The online ordering system isn't great (see below), however, I eventually found what I was looking for and called to adjust the pick up time. Since the large wasn't available, I chose regular for one bowl and mega for the other. I also paid for extra granola for both. Although the toppings look skimpy, we were pleasantly surprised to find the extra granola at the bottom of the regular bowl. Then the mega bowl was basically a double decker acai bowl. Acai on the bottom with selected toppings then more acai resting under another layer of the selected toppings. It's definitely worth it to get the mega bowl. They also make good smoothies and use compostable materials. Our orders have been accurate and filling. Plus the employees are friendly. Issues with the online ordering: -I couldn't adjust the pick-up time. Even though they were open for another 5 hours, the only option for pick up was next day at 9:30 am. I called after placing the order and they said they could make the order right away. -large perfect bowl is not an option (all other sizes were available) -special bowl options are confusing. No option for granola but there is an option for extra granola. No description for what it contains yet you can remove items. -many of the items do not have descriptions, luckily I had been here before so I knew what the perfect bowl entailed read more

There is absolutely no where better on earth for açaí bowls than the spot. I will die on that hill defending this place. We come to the outer banks once a year and eat here every day just for them. They layer the toppings with their larger sizes which makes it so amazing. Also we had our dog with us and the manager walked out with ice cream to make sure our dog got something. Staff is so friendly and they have a lot of clean seating. Greatest açaí ever. read more

Love this shop and make it a point to support it frequently during any OBX sojourn. Never tried the ice cream or whatever else they may have, to me it's all about the açaí bowls. It's easy to eat a bunch of junk on vacay, and I'll admit I can be guilty of that, so I'll typically make a meal each day with a bowl here - they work at breakfast, lunch and dinner and they're both crazy healthy and crazy delish. The Spot features a wrap-around porch and a game/picnic area, both of which have seating and are dog-friendly. Service is almost always friendly; the order taker today had an ugly case of the morning grumpies but the one who delivered my bowl was charming and helpful. See you next trip! read more

I was at OBX during the week before Memorial Day. They are generous with the amount of ice cream you are given (no rip offs) so that's good. After I got back to my car, the key was stuck and wouldn't turn. I got the jumper cables out and one of the guys who worked there offered to give me a jump start. That didn't work. They he found out that the car was in reverse instead of park which was causing the problem. I felt dumb, but he helped me find the problem, so a few days later I came back and gave him a generous tip. All the people who work there are cool. read more

WOW ! I had the make your own acai bowl, I had fresh strawberries, kiwi, granola, Coconut and blueberries it was delicious! I also had the Avocado toast it was just ok- not much to it. The younger kids making food are really nice and friendly. I also ordered our daughter an Avalon- They do charge extra for substituting example no honey sub almond butter- really $1next time I will get another pick 5 then there is no extra charge for the first 5 ingredients. My husband and I come here every weekend during beach season. Usually we have the best experiences. Today was just down right horrible. Your staff may be young and new to the workforce but don't hire people who are miserable and unfriendly. Lack of care for the product, if you accidentally put your fingers in my ice cream at least wear gloves or wash your hands in between customers. We will have to find a new "spot" for our Saturday beach day ritual. Avoid this place, there are tons of better options within a mile. read more

After a long hot day on the beach, what's better than a smoothie or Acai bowl? I ordered a smoothie, and my sister ordered an Acai bowl. My smoothie maybe took about 10 minutes but we waited almost 25 minutes for the Acai bowl. They have a takeout window as well, so it seemed with only a few workers they were getting behind. Really disappointed. The service was nothing like expected, we were told to clear out of the building 15 minutes before closing and we were not aloud to eat inside. They did not take orders for acai for the people who came in before 9:30 but had to wait to place there order until 9:30. Mind you their Apple Maps says they are open until 10 and they have no store hours posted. The staff was constantly talking trash in front of customers and being extremely disrespectful. The staff included Heather and two other girls. Wouldn't recommend going if you value good service. read more

The Spot .... IS THE SPOT ! Looking for a late night sweet treat , we headed over to the Spot . With so many options of Sundaes , Cones , Milkshakes and different bowls there is something for everyone ! At the VERY reasonable price of $5.50 , I got the Icecream sandwich with the "Lil Blue Panda" Icecream flavor. The chocolate chip brownies that make the sandwich are SO GOOD! Don't be afraid to get a little messy and enjoy this sweet treat ! It was Fairly busy when we arrived around 9pm and patiently waiting about 20 mins - But it was worth it! We went here three times during a week because it was in easy walking distance of our rented beach house. On the first day, The first time, it was early in the day and not busy. We each got a smoothie and they were really, really great. On the next visit, we got açaí bowls. It was late enough that they only use the pre- blend for the base. They were beautifully made, and tasted good. A small was definitely more than enough. The last day, we each got a milkshake. They were also good, but not any better than other places. That night, they were extremely busy even at 9:15 pm. Overall, I think it was a good place to go, but it wasn't any better than anywhere else. The açaí bowls make it different than other places, but if you are just looking for ice cream, it is just a comparable option to many other ice cream locations in OBX. read more

The coconut lotus pie had a faint coconut flavor but else tasted like something not coconut or lotus. I only ate half my scoop which was $6.45. It very difficult for me to not like icecream so very disappointing. Noose scoops oat meal pie flavor yesterday much better and only $4.50 scoop. I think holy cow is worth it to try the donut panini but just for icecream it's not.

The workers have a large area to prep food so things happened super efficiently. Despite being constantly busy, they were friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. There is ample seating in the outdoor patio as well as around the store on the "sidewalk". We took advantage of a nook outside of the market area, which was nicely shaded with tables and chairs. There was also a lot of comfy seating inside with a couple of nooks furnished with chairs and couches for families to sit in. Past the cafe is a market area with merchandise and wine. Can't wait to be back!

Service was nothing to note, the lady who took our order was efficient but not overly friendly. Plenty of seating to eat in and things to look at while you wait!
