I have had terrible experiences with movers in the past so I am always hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Smoovers was the best experience I have ever had with a move. I booked a Saturday morning move only three days prior and they were able to get me two movers (I honestly thought I would be out of luck with all movers). Spencer responded right away and confirmed he had two guys for me. Day of move went so smooth. Movers were on time and wasted no time getting to work and ran with it. I used this company to do a move from a townhouse to a storage facility. I will start by saying this company had reasonable pricing options because I liked that you could pay by the hour, and it was on the lower end vs. some of the other companies I reached. Also, I could tell they were working hard. But I will add that you get what you pay for. I liked that they had good availability, and the owner responded quickly and efficiently. However it seems like a very new company. Meaning they didn't work as efficiently as I think they should have. Some of my things were not handled with care, and they weren't good with effectively packing things into the storage. For starters, they showed up with a truck that was clearly too small for the number of items I had. That resulted in there having to be two trips made to and from the storage, and the distance from one place to the next was not short. I felt since that was a misjudgment on the owners part, he could have taken off travel time from the final amount owed or something. And speaking of time, it seemed they took their time on certain parts so that the final bill would be the highest it could be. With the second trip to the storage, it caused me to be late to work and miss out on a night at a hotel I paid for. I wasn't happy and I wouldn't use the service again. read more
