I used this pharmacy for IVF medications. Keep in mind, the nature of this process means often times needing medications the next day, which adds to an already stressful experience. I needed medications overnighted to me, but the pharmacy had a power outage. First I was told I would get them the next day. Then I was told I would not. This went back and forth all day. So that night, I rushed to my doctor's office to get a spare medication, only to have my SMP medications arrive at my door the next day, a surprise to me. A lot of stress and confusion for nothing. Fine. Things happen. I can be understanding. The afternoon before my trigger shot, of which there is only one and can make or break your entire IVF cycle, I open the box to discover the vial is shattered into a dozen tiny pieces. Thank God I looked! After several phone calls and e-mails back and forth (I'm in full blown panic mode), some lady calls and tells me they have decided to send me a replacement for free. Wow! How f'ing courteous of you! I explained that yeah, the first one was defective. Now what gets me is the ATTITUDE of the woman on the other end. She was so curt with me. I asked if she could send me the tracking number of the package and her attitude was like I was the devil himself. I can deal with a lot. But ATTITUDE, when you were dead ass WRONG? No thanks. One of the pharmacists Jenny was at least responsive and helpful. Whoever they have answering these phones? They need to be replaced. Every time you call the pharmacy, you are immediately put on hold for 25- 40 mins. Then the customer service reps take forever to place your order, so be prepared for at least an hour on the phone. They try to push you to use their "mobile app" which looks like it was made in the 1970s and is not user friendly or effective in the least. If you have a choice of specialty pharmacy, do not use SMP. read more

Progyny Insurance made me order through SMP for my Fertility meds/ treatment. For this treatment you basically need your meds same day delivery. I had HUGE issues during this stressful time for this stressful process. 1. They didn't send me ALL of what my clinic ordered. and because I didn't know exactly what my clinic ordered, I didn't know what I didn't have. My Clinic repeatedly said "they aren't supposed to do that, they need to send you everything we ordered" I ended up being the middle man between the clinic and SMP and SMP refused to send me what the amount I needed with their "no waste policy" 2. After telling me they cant send me my whole order, they also said "fed ex might be late due to covid" OKAY.. so you wont send me 5 days worth (only 3) but also my orders might late and that means I need to keep calling you every other day. 3. Twice the Southern CA rep said she would call me and didn't. She promised me a Monday phone call, and when I didn't receive one in the AM, i call 7 times and only got the answering machine until i finally got her at 4:30 pm and she said "well we are open until 6 you know..." OK but I dont have ANY meds, and you were supposed to call me today and send them tomorrow! 4. Another time she promised me a wednesday call at 11am, NO CALL, no return call when I left a message. Then thursday at 4PM she claimed "we said thursday at 11, and you didnt pick up" Are you f***ing kidding me? She was almost going to argue with me, and this point I'm on emo fertility meds and she is absolutley horrible.. I think her name is Lilly. ANNNDD all this didnt even work for me, the meds didnt work, and a big part of me not wanting to try again in my process is because I cannot deal with SMP. I began using this pharmacy as I had heard they carried good prices. I used them for a year and a half for my prescriptions. EVERY single time, I would get a call, stating my medicine was ready, and I would drive down to pick up, and Oh! Surprise, nobody knew about my prescription, the call, the medicine, was obviously not there nor ready.. Really unprofessional. I ended up needing 2 trips there for pick up, and/or a long wait before I got my medicine. It is really unprofessional. I wrote a review on Google and they replied that It had been all my fault, as I had delayed the pick up so they had returned my medicine. Excuse me: I am talking not about a single time that might have been the case, but a year and a half of my asthma prescription. They have moved to Doral and are far away, but seriously, you need to get your act together and sync the phone calls with the actual prescriptions being ready. Good luck. If I could give this 0 stars, I certainly would. This is the most unorganized pharmacy I've been to. The girls who answer the phone do not care about you or your prescription. They will hang up on you several times before someone actually answers. Then they didn't have my medication in stock for several months, when I went back after they got it in stock they told me I was no longer a customer because I haven't gotten anything filled in the last 60 days. The only thing that I have not been able to do is get a number, email or some way to communicate with customer service for a request that I have. I like rooting for the home team. Was ordering fertility prescriptions from an online competitor, and chose to deal with SMP to "shop local" despite it being a few dollars more expensive. My prescription regularly cost roughly $110. I went to pick it up today and was told it would be $195. When I asked why the price was nearly double, they said because it is harder to get and there is a shortage. Called my old pharmacy FP (online retailer based in Mass.), and they were willing to fill the same prescription for $96. Not sure if SMH practices are legal, but they are certainly less than ethical. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. In this case going local is not worth it. read more

My prescription was submitted to this pharmacy since the beginning of November. While I understand the delay of having the insurance approve the Med, I don't understand the fact that their service is atrocious . No return phone calls, no updates, and every time I call the person is not available to speak. I have serious illnesses and have dealt throughout many years with specialty pharmacies before and it's never been this bad. That's putting it mildly. I just contacted my doctor to start from the beginning with another pharmacy. It is really bad! Don't be fool. They recently delivered my cat's medicine to me in the incorrect formula and instead of apologizing for the error, they REFUSED to refund my card and told me I was unethical for disputing the charge on my credit card! If you've ever had some type of surgery or have an elderly person you have to take care of, then you know the pains one goes through when having to search for a place that carries and sells affordable durable medical equipment. My younger brother recently got a cast on his leg and to help him be more mobile we had to get him a cam walker along with a crutch. Now the crutch was no problem finding, but this was the only pharmacy I could find with a cam walker in his size (he has quite a large foot). Not only did they have what I wanted right as I needed it, but they were able to give me suggestions in order to make his time with the cast a more bearable one by suggesting other equipment, such as a bath handle and the works. I thought I was going to have to bust out some serious cash for all of this, but boy was I wrong. They were straight forward and suggested the best suited items, rather than the overly priced duplicates. The staff really seemed to know there stuff and were so kind and helpful. I recommended them to my cousins and they have similar experiences. Thank you South Miami Pharmacy for making this nightmare a more bearable one. You guys rock! read more

Ordered $5k worth of medications that needed to be refrigerated for overnight priority morning delivery shipping. What arrived was a box that was NOT marked priority at 5pm the next day, more than 24 hours AFTER it was packed. In addition, the contents were hot and thus ruined. The items that had to be refrigerated where packed in a single cooling bag with a single small ice pack. The icing on the cake, is that not more than a day later, my credit card started getting fraudulent charges in the same block as this pharmacy. I have never had a fraud issue with this card in the 6+ years I've had that account open and VERY active, until dealing with this wretched company. Update: While they head pharmacist has helped rearrange a replacement delivery, I am still not pleased with the services provided. I had to pay extra for priority "morning delivery" and had to beg to get a second cooling pack added to the shipment. The second delivery was not much better. FedEx didn't deliver my 10:30 am package until 3PM. Glad I insisted on the 2nd cooling pack. The only reason I am upgrading the review to 2-Star is because the head pharmacist was willing to help arrange medication replacements. read more

They always help me find manufacturer's coupons for my expensive prescriptions. And best of all, they deliver all the way up to Broward County (I believe they will even deliver in palm beach county). After I purchased 2 of the 5 vials I need I called my health care advocate because she assured me the meds were covered. Graciously my advocate called SMP the next day to find out if they needed help running the claim. She was told the medication is a compound made in-house and the charges for the medication are primarily for the time it takes to mix it, not the ingredients, so they're unwilling to run the claim or accept less for the medication. The woman I talked to could have told me this in the first place! I will never again use SMP unless I absolutely cannot source the medication I need from anywhere else. I was obtaining my prescriptions at CVS for many years. I live in Palmetto Bay (that should say something as I drive to SMP frequently!) Need I say, CVS is horrible with their prescriptions. The pharmacist's do not care about the patient, whatsoever. I finally went over to SMP and have never turned back. Kikki is amazing and quite frankly, their entire staff is phenomenal. They always are accommodating and go out of their way to make sure you have what you need on a timely basis. In fact, recently, I had been on vacation to Europe for two weeks and they went out of their way to get a vacation override. My prescriptions are always filled quickly regardless of the day, time or lines and they know me. Their employees are also very communicative and keep you up to date when dealing with the nightmares of insurance pre-authorizations and the like. It is the best pharmacy in Miami. read more

SMP was used by my physician to prepare a special medication. SMP was efficient in following up with me on the same day, Tuesday. I was told the meds would be delivered by Thursday. Thursday came and went and no delivery, so we called on Friday with a promise of delivery. No delivery on Friday nor any call back. Monday, we called again with promise of delivery up to 10:30 pm. No call, No delivery. My condition worsened over the weekend since I was only supplied enough sample meds to last until Friday from my physician that would alleviate my pain, inflammation. Instead of enabling me to continue a progressive recovery, my condition has relapsed due to the lack of attention from SMP. WHAT IF MY CONDITION WAS FATAL. read more
