For the past year and a half I've been hospitalized 12 times, have seen countless experts to no avail with regards to a health situation regarding my kidneys. I finally saw a silver lining with a magnificent doctor from Mount Sinai. I'm having two procedures done in hopes to get to the the root of my problem and solve it once and for all. Marco Drugs Store has been around a long time and due to many health issues many of my doctors have sent compounds to be done there. What I experienced last Friday went beyond a normal business transaction, it was a true act of kindness. My medications were ready at noon. I honestly did not have the strength to get dressed, drive, get down and retrieve my very needed medicines. I called and said I would pick it up on Tuesday. My pain and discomfort worsened and I realized if I didn't get my medication, I would have one miserable weekend. I called and the young girl whose name escapes me unfortunately, who answered listened to me plea and explain I was in pijamas on my way but in too much pain to even get down. She took my information over the phone. Once I arrived I called her, she came to my car gave me the medicines, explained everything to me and told she wished me well. It may not sound like a big deal but this is not a drive through average pharmacy, they really didn't have to go to any lengths for me, but they chose to do so. That for me meant the world, I'm alleviated from the pain, my weekend was not miserable and I am truly thankful for the kindness extended to me. Marco Drugs & Compounding did an excellent job with preparing my prescription medication. This was the very first time I've utilized this local pharmacy and the medication has truly alleviated so much pain and discomfort for me, it's incredible. However, the customer service that I received via phone was very inconsistent and that's why I deducted two stars from my review. My order was entered on a Wednesday morning and was ready for pick up by 4:30 PM. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I wasn't able to pick up my medication the same day, so I asked about the delivery service they offer. I was told it would be delivered the next day. Thursday, I must have called Marco Drugs 4-5 times to find out when my medication would be delivered. I was consistently told that the pharmacy did not have a copy of the drivers route so they couldn't provide me with an ETA. When I explained that my apartment is literally down the street from the pharmacy, and asked them why it was taking so long, they told me they did not know and if I needed the medication urgently I should have told them to expedite my delivery so that it would arrive in the morning. I replied that I did not know that was an option and the woman on the phone responded with "well how are we supposed to know you need it urgently if you don't tell us" which I understand, but if you provide customers with expedited service - you should make that known when you tell your customers you provide delivery services and what options they have. The woman was very short with me and her tone was unappreciated. I am very grateful for the medication itself for making me feel so much better. Marco drugs & compounding is an excellent pharmacy they make sure to do there very best to help out each one of there customers. They do an excellent job at what you can consider the pharmacy's specialty that is compounding the lead pharmacist along with her techs take very inch of precaution when putting together there compounds to make sure they only put out great products. They are very knowledgeable of the OTC supplements that they carry, not to mention top of the line. I don't agree with some of the comments on here, people need to remember that the staff here are not robots and that everything doesn't just fall on the pharmacy keep in mind that if the prescribers office doesn't send over refills then they can't fill your script also prescriptions expire and you need new ones there employees go to work every single day with the mind set to help out the community. Things that you don't agree with or just think should be done differently is not something to knock this place off we are all humans and have dropped things through the cracks all the time specially in these times when everyone wants everything fast (COVID) . As a physician, I can tell you that Marco Drugs is the finest compounding pharmacy in the Southeast. While most pharmacies simply put pills in bottles or attach a label with your name to a prefilled bottle, the staff at Marco (especially Sonia, the owner/pharmacist) is a wonderful resource for drug information and even alternative medicine. If you have prescriptions that you take on a monthly basis, I highly recomend that you move all of them over to this fantastic Pharmacy in South Miami at the corner of US1 and Ludlam Rd. Marco Drug and Compounding will take care of any needs that you have for your pharmacueticals and will have you in and out of there in no time at all. I have never had to wait for anything longer than 15 minutes and that was for three prescriptions on a busy morning. The staff are friendly and always sure of what they're doing. The owner/pharmacist, Sonia is one of the best and the over all Customer Service cannot be beaten by a pharmacy in the Miami area. I stongly suggest that if you have ever had a problem with your pharmacy, try using Marco Drugs. You will not be disappointed, I guarentee that. I had all of my meds at a CVS and three years ago, I was forced to look around for a place that carried a certain medication, not common. I found Marco and I have been using them ever since for all of my medications. I have been here in Miami for well over 50 years and this pharmacy is by far the best in the area. If you do not have insurance, this place will not take advantage of you and I think the prices that they have are very fair, and in most cases, less expensive than anywhere else. DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE A NEW PATIENT!!! I was referred to Marco Drugs and Compounding by a Walgreens pharmacist because the medicine I needed was not available. When I arrived at Marco Drugs and Compounding I stood in line at the "Drop Off" window. There was one person ahead of me in line and she was being helped by the woman behind the counter. I must have waited for 20 minutes before the lady behind the counter finally addressed me. She asked, have you been here before? I answered no I'm a new patient, she quickly replied, we are not accepting any new patients. Too bad she didn't have the courtesy to ask me that question the moment she saw me get in line, it would have saved me a lot of time. She was dismissive,did not want to help me at all, what a great way to run a business and treat patients, not.
