I only had one day left of vacation so didn't want to pay a full week's cost plus delivery fee. Eric understood and just said I could have crutches for the last day of vacation if I could pick them up. I got a Lyft driver to do so, and otherwise got to use the crutches for free. Eric did this without any likely benefit for himself. There is essentially zero percent chance of me being a repeat customer. He didn't ask me to write a review in exchange for the free rental. Then, when I came to store the next day via Lyft, he asked where I was headed, and I explained I was going straight to the airport. He just gave me the crutches...and saved me a lot of inconvenience and discomfort in the airport, where I was wheeled to the gate but would have had a MUCH harder time, say, going to bathroom or getting to my seat on the plane without crutches. In a time of monopolistic big companies taking money out of communities, we need more businesses owners like Eric to stick around.

Cue Health is a company that provides on-demand healthcare with COVID-19 tests and virtual care…read morefrom board-certified physicians. I have used their molecular tests for COVID-19. These tests are approved by the Food and Drug Administration for at-home use, and research by the Mayo Clinic shows that these tests are 98% accurate. The price is expensive, about several hundred dollars for ten tests, but I thankfully receive these tests for free through my husband's employer. This test works differently than other company's over-the-counter COVID-19 tests. To use Cue's COVID-19 test, I first installed Cue's app on my phone. Then I followed the app's instructions: Insert a cartridge into a plugged-in box, wait for the cartridge to warm up, swab my nostrils five times each, insert the swab into the cartridge, and wait 20 minutes for the app to give me my results. The app keeps a list of all of my recent test results, and it gives me the option to speak with a physician if I need assistance with interpreting my test results or need treatment.

Test kits - over more than two years, almost every time I needed to test - right now - I'd find the supply of kits I had on hand were expired. They have a very short shelf life. In some cases, Cue did replace some of the kits, but mostly I ended up throwing away expired kits. Given the cost, thats hundreds of dollars in the trash plus the cost of the drugstore test kits I had to send out for at the last minute since I had nothing on hand to use. 2. Reader issues - Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Had one family member who had to try multiple times every time we tested her (at $60--70 a kit). A month ago I was extremely ill and needed to test and for some reason the reader and the app would not even recognize that i had one test kit left (with a valid date.). 3. Subscription model - stupid me, thought I'd give it a try when they went to a subscription model. Some orders took a long time to get kits shipped and I ended up sending out to the drugstore. I never used the doctor service - I have plenty of doctors already. Then when I tried to cancel, it said it would cancel at the end of the year! So, I will have paid $240 for a minimal discount on kits that take forever to arrive and then expire rapidly once you have them and a doctor service I don't need.

They got on it immediately and had a technician scheduled for my swap out! The tech called me with an ETA of a little over an hour. I live 60 miles east of San Diego, so of course I expected it would be awhile. The young man, Luke was the technician. Luke has been to my home before to set up equipment for me and he remembered who I was. That is something that us older folks appreciate. It makes us feel like we have made a positive impact on the younger generation. Luke brought me a brand new machine. He was sure that I would be pleased with my new equipment. He wasnt wrong either! My new machine is whisper quiet. I do love it. He was very helpful in explaining the new equipment to me and also on the use and care of the equipment. I have had other technicians out in the past, but none were as helpful as Luke has been. Thank you Luke, I hope that Kadence takes care of you and treats you well, as I will be asking for you personally if I have to have anyone out in the future. I highly recommend Kadence Healthcare.
