Let me start by saying that I will definitely use them again. I was turned away from a car rental place at the airport, because I don't have a credit card (I refuse!). I had never had this happen to me. I was stuck wondering, what do I do? I'm in southern California, I have big plans, and no car. I tried another area, but they were not helpful, but someone saw my distress and said, "I can help you." He made a phone call and told me to wait outside and someone would pick me up and take me to a place. I figured it would be some random place with the worst broken down cars. I was dropped off at a small office minutes from the airport. I walked in and the person there was AMAZING! He was friendly, took my information, and within minutes, I was driving out in a nice medium size car. I worried that the return process would cause a problem. I guess, I was just waiting for the other foot to drop. Could it really be this great? The answer is YES! It truly was. No complaints at all. Jose on the other hand may need additional training as he came off brash and unprofessional upon check-in. Pro-tip: leave your luggage in the car if you're returning to the airport as they will use the same vehicle to drop you off; also if you know you will be crossing toll roads, they offer a flat rate to cover toll roads per day--inquire inside. parking: - located on a small lot but we had no issues with parking as the car was already pulled to the front and ready for us to drive off. wait time: - zero wait time ambiance: - a modest and small establishment. service: - timely pick up at the airport by a professional and friendly male gentleman. I didn't catch his name and shortly realized no one was wearing nametags which the establishment may want to consider implementing. Overall, the entire experience was spoiled by Jose upon check-in for two reasons. He asked us if we were checking out the luxury car and when we said no, he scoffed in a "well of course you're not," kind of attitude. I was about to ignore the microaggression until he asked in a roundabout way if we had car insurance. Except he didn't use the word "insurance" and was incredibly frustrated at us when we didn't understand what he was asking for. This was my first time renting from SNA Auto Rental and I will certainly be using this family-owned business again. Their customer service is top notch. Everyone I encountered, be it over the phone or in person was kind and accommodating. I was promptly picked up at SNA by Jose who was wonderful. Just a short hop over to the agency. Jose checked me in as well. Before leaving the rental agency, he noticed that I was having trouble hooking up Apple Car Play with the Corolla I was given. I would be needing this app to navigate with. After a few failed attempts at helping me connect, he quickly switched me to a Kia and all was well. Their vehicles might have a few minor scratches and dents, but these are well noted prior to signing and my car was in perfect condition otherwise and it drove very nicely. One saves money by not having to pay the airport fees other companies on site are obliged to do and this made a big difference for me. Returning the car was just as smooth, fast and easy. The owner gave me a lift back to the airport and was super nice. My hold deposit was credited back to my credit card within two business days of my return. There is one suggestion I would make to SNA Auto Rental, and that would be to have the option of adjusting or cancelling one's reservation online. As it is, one must call the agency to make those changes or cancellations. Still, they do answer promptly and provided excellent customer service. Their airport pickup person was quick to pick us up and upon arrival at the office he showed us in and prepared the paperwork. Another person there said they didn't have the car I had requested and proceeded to give us a free upgrade to a higher class vehicle. They quickly transferred our luggage from the pickup vehicle and placed it in the rental vehicle. Good. Small company, but everything went well after landing John Wayne Airport. Car was ready to go at the door after we have been picked up. Drop off was quick as well, and we were dropped off with the same car at the airport, so we could leave our stuff in the trunk. But I almost got a heart attack 10 min later after the drop off I noticed that my laptop was missing, still in the trunk! But thanks god calling them got you through ride away, and there were so honest to admit it was still in the trunk, and came back right away to give it to me. Phew! That of course is a no brainer for a 5 Star review. I wouldn't have been surprised in this crazy world if I had be lied on about my laptop, that it wouldn't be there. But thank you guys! Super-friendly service. These guys are my go-to rental car whenever I'm in OC, which is usually monthly. They're quick to pick you up at the airport, or if it's a nice day, it's only a 15-20 minute walk down Campus. Turnaround is fast at the office and you're on your way. When you return, they almost always take you to the airport in the car you just returned, so no need to move the bags. Price beats all the national chains.
