I've been a member of BOSS for over two years. Each workout is customized to you by James (Master…read moreTrainer). James will show you each exercise from weights, to cardio, to mobility and balance. Get ready for a workout of a lifetime. You will be amazed at the results and the change in your physical and mental approach to life.

BOSS is the best workout experience I've ever had…read more I've worked out consistently since I was a freshman in high school (that was 2000). I was one of those kids in college that got up and went to the Rec before class to run suicides or lift weights. The first thing I did when I moved to Columbus was join a gym - before I even had an apartment. I've joined Boss a year ago and I'm not sure I've done the same exercise twice. Not exaggerating at all. No one is sulking around, there are no cell phones, theres ZERO judgement. It's impossible to have a bad workout here. There's abundant energy and motivation. The grueling workouts are fun and the time flies. I'm a better person everytime I walk out of the building. Taj and James are important people in my life. They both push and care about me. I talk business with James after workouts. Neighborhoods and real estate with Taj. They ask if everything is ok if I miss a couple days. I admire every single person that is a member at BOSS. They all push themselves, they dont judge themselves or others, they are tremendous leaders, and more so than anything they are tremendous humans. I see no reason to ever workout anywhere else.

I shopped around pretty seriously for a gym. The hands down nicest was McConnell, but it was…read moreridonkulously expensive. Grant is affordable (about $52 a month) low key, and comes with free parking downtown! That alone is worth $30 a month so..... There's no pool and the weekend hours are not the greatest but the view is spectacular. There's a huge window that the cardio machines all face and the gym is up on the 9th floor. I like the mix of folks that work out there too. It's a good mix of cardiac rehab folks, Grant employees, and other random folks. A lot of older folks so I never feel intimidated by the seriously fit young folks at other gyms. The small size and non chain affiliation make this gym a "best kept secret" that most folks have never heard of. I almost hate to yelp about it because it is so nice and quiet there now.

I will seriously miss this place as it sets the bar high in so many areas…read more Price: great for the variety of equipment, classes (that you don't pay extra for), and cleanliness of the facilities. Staff: excellent, trained staff! I can honestly say I liked everyone who worked there because one could have a good chat or just leave it at a friendly greeting. Did I mentioned well trained? I worked with a number of different trainers there and they all had their strong suits in the programs they developed for me. I thought the training packages were reasonably priced and not designed to gouge. Classes: I think there's something for everyone in this respect. I went to a fitness class two days a week for most of the last year I was there and tried to make sure I scheduled around it. And I am not typically a class-goer. Though there's no pool, I was motivated to learn how to swim through the life coaching sessions I bought. Now that I can swim, I wish there was a pool, but not a big deal. Population: As Susan H. mentions, it's not your typical loud, grunty hardbodies population. Instead there are people with a range of abilities, so it's not intimidating. It was motivating to take a class or work on equipment with people in their 70s who could run rings around me. This gave to something to work toward, maintain, and then improve upon. I will say that dude do not know how to put their equipment back and like to ignore the no cellphones rule. What's up with that sense of entitlement? Parking used to be a bit of a nightmare, especially in winter, because I'm convinced hospital staff were parking in the deck who weren't supposed to. However, it vastly improved in the last year or so. Still, use the green deck if you want to get to the fitness center and take the elevator to the 9th floor. Also, there's usually plenty of parking on floors 4-6, but you'll likely get stuck behind some numpty driving 5mph or trying to squeeze their stupid SUV into a spot [thisbig]. Finally, it's easier to back into the spots, which are freakishly small. If that's my only complaint, you know this is a good gym. In a previous life, I would usually last for eight months at a gym before quitting or going maybe once a week. I stuck with Grant for two years and it will be hard to duplicate the experience.
