Stopped in while visiting family in GA. It's great that there is ample parking. The gym is decent size, clean, and has everything you need for basic weight/cardio training. The treadmills all appeared to be pretty new, def newer than the ones in my home Snap Fitness. Sanitizer and paper towels (Scott - not cheap brand) were abundant and the bathrooms were super clean. I didn't notice a ton of barbell weights, racks, etc, but there was a decent set up for dumbbells, benches, etc. Weight training machines seemed to be in good condition. I spoke to the manager (Glenn, I believe) and he was great! Knowledgeable guy who seemed really invested in the business. read more

Snap Fitness is the best gym for getting fit. Mustafa and Mo are terrific to work with. They developed a fitness program for me at LaVista and Inman Park that truly put me back in much better physical shape. I am maintaining my weight, food intake and feel strong and fit. Snap Fitness is exactly the type of gym I needed to balance the experiences I had at Crunch when I lived in Buckhead. I go to the gym to work out. And, when I work out I don't look cute and I sweat. A LOT. I am not into the meat market vibe with women parading around in barely-there workout clothes, nary a drop of dew on their make-up layered faces, just waiting for a strong-armed beefcake to make a move while "Womanizer" blasts over the loud speakers. That's enough to send me home with a bottle of wine and a pint of Ben & Jerry's. I digress. The point is- Spin is the kind of laid-back gym that I like. Girls without make-up who actually perspirate! Guys who are too interested in themselves or each other to notice the females in the room! No lines for equipment- EVER! Plus, it's 24/7 so if I ever get a hankering to throw some weights around at 2am, it's my perogative. And, it's totally affordable which was the biggest selling point for me. Now, I just need to make myself go more than twice a week! read more

My wife and I just rode by there this evening because we're looking for a gym in the neighborhood. We saw people inside and wanted to get some information on the gym. We knocked on the door and the staff person who opened it made it clear to us that the office closes at 8 (it was 8:30) and rudely explained that we needed to come back tomorrow if we needed some information. When we asked for a pamphlet, he pointed to the tray next to the door and again rudely explained that we needed to come back tomorrow if we wanted more info. For a gym looking for new members in the neighborhood, this didn't seem like a good way to treat potential customers. We won't be joining and If anyone asks about the gym, I'm going to tell them about my experience. read more

So far so good. This is a smaller gym that's pretty quiet during the daytime when I go. I like the location, staff, prices and it being open 24/7. I live a mile from this location so I jog to & from but parking certainly isn't a problem as it's an Agnes Scott parking deck (it's free). The staff (Jordan) has been very helpful so far. Do the $8 trial card first and see if you like it. A big plus for me is they have machines that can be tough to find in a small gym (things like assisted dip/chinup and lateral shoulder raise, etc.). I do a mix of machine & dumbbells. Seems they have everything you could want. read more

It's ok. Just ok. It has everything a self motivated work out enthusiast may need. But provide no classes, so if you are hoping to get a generic yoga class or pilates out of your gym membership, this place ain't it. The machines are cheap, "off-brand" and somehow less ergonomic than what I am used to. There are industrial strength air fresheners all around the facility that emit head-ache inducing odor at regular intervals. I've given it a year since my last review I've even followed them to their new location too. But I just don't love it in fact I downright hate that so many things are there that make me irate. Either it's super crowded at the peak times of day or Agnes Scott students are lounging on the equipment in the way. If you manage to find a time not crowded for your Zen that's exactly when the staff will start vacuuming again. The machines are just basic (even compared to Glenwood's Snap) so to top off the frustration is the boredom trap. But the staff is nice, I will give them that. It's the only thing that gets a tip of the hat. I'll probably stay a member (I'm lazy and it's close) but if a new cheap gym were to open I'd be all like "adios!" read more

I was surprised to see that the most recent review of this gym was so negative. I've been a member for just about 3 years and in that time I've NEVER encountered any of the member behaviors the previous reviewer listed. I've never seen anyone barefoot. There's very rarely anyone talking on their cell. I've never witnessed anyone playing music from their phone without headphones. Despite being a somewhat small space (relative to LA Fitness, for example), there's rarely a wait for weights, machines, and/or cardio machines. The equipment is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. Other members are generally polite and unobtrusive. The gym IS attached to Agnes Scott College, but the students aren't granted access until after 8 PM and, even when they do filter in, the impact to the gym experience is minimal. Super convenient to the Decatur-area and free from gymtimidation, Snap Fitness Decatur has given me one of the best gym experiences yet. read more

I tried Snap Fitness in 2009 when they were in Oakhurst and have been a member ever since. The Agnes Scott location is excellent - easy accessibility, variety of equipment, personal trainers available if you prefer. Snap Decatur is very well managed -- the place is consistently clean, and if a piece of equipment goes down, it's repaired quickly. Membership also gives you access to the Agnes Scott track and pool, which is a big plus. Highly recommend. read more

Cancelled my contract about 4 years ago. Got call tonight to pay $180 or i would be turned in to the credit reporting agencies... No prior phonecalls or letters were sent.... not one. Trust me... it's so EASY to sign up... just month to month! But... then they'll hit you by surprise 4 years later, you'll be dealing with this same issue. UPDATE, the management has refunded the $180, and terminated the collection agency. These guys seem like good people mixed up with a bad vendor. read more

I have been a member of small group since October 2015 and working with Josh has made me so much more efficient in the gym! The classes are customized to each individual and are constantly changing to help you get the most out of your workout. My fellow classmates and Josh help me stay motivated and accountable for my time spent at Snap Fitness, which in turn has given me better results. Its nice to look better but it is more import to have a healthy lifestyle. Small group training has helped me feel better, sleep better and feel less guilty about having a beer with dinner. If you live in the area and your target workout time is 8pm-10pm, you will find this gym very difficult to work out in. When you sign up, they don't disclose that everyday after 8pm, the entire Agnes Scott student body can work out in the tiny 800sq ft or so gym, and just about all of Agnes Scott comes. During this time, constant groups of 4-5 of them at a time pour in, take up all the cardio machines, yell and scream, camp out on the weight machines, and lay all over the stretching area and just talk. The gym, which is normally pleasant, turns almost unbearable during this time. On top of being available for an entire college, many of the clientele are some of the rudest gym members I've ever worked out around and consistently do the following: Belch out loud Walk around in bare, sweaty feet Play music out loud from their phones Slam weights Leave their phones and water bottles on machines they're not using Talk on cell phones non-stop Leave weights all over the place and on the bars when they're done "Reserve" several machines while they do other workouts for 15 minutes Work in without asking Maybe these are just things to be expected in a 24hr gym where staff aren't always there to monitor the situation, but it's definitely not something I've experienced so regularly in traditional gyms. In short, although very conveniently located, this gym is made worse by being Agnes Scott's auxiliary gym and by having many members with awful etiquette habits. If you can work out during the day or at 11pm, this gym should meet all our needs, but otherwise, just be prepared for massive crowds from 8-10pm. read more

When I go to the gym, I want to work out. I don't need a pool, raquetball court or anything other than weights and cardio equipment. If you are self motivated, fairly certain of your goals and have a decent strategy on how to meet those goals this just might work for you. There are no high pressure sales, the place is in the middle of a residential neighborhood (Oakhurst) and, though small, is never over crowded. They deliver what they promise. read more

you can't beat 24 hour access. Haven't had much interaction with any trainers, but I have never needed to sit and wait for a machine. $15 per month add-on for tanning if you want. Their bathrooms are always restocked and equipment seems to be well kept. Only large criticism is a lack of a free weight bench. read more

Been a member for Snap for over a year at another location and been at Snap Decatur for 6mos or so and LOVE IT. Staff is very friendly and inviting. Any time I have a question about equipment or promotions they are happy to help. As an active member, I've even received a month or two membership free! Facilities are clean and spacious(at least compared to some other Snaps I've visited) and being a part of the Agnes Scott public safety building, I feel totally safe going to the gym at any hours of the night alone. This is a great local gym. I like that it's close to downtown Decatur and they are open 24/7. The gym is clean and they have nice equipment. I am always able to get my workout in and get out without waiting. Safety is also a big plus for me, the colleges' security patrol is in the same complex and the parking is secured. read more

I have been a member of this gym for a few months now. The gym is always very clean when I go there to work out. It has free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment, as a gym should. Cardio classes aren't offered, which is perfect for me since I am not interested in that. I mainly workout using the free weights and then run on the treadmill or use other cardio machines. I have never had to wait in line like I did at my previous gym and there isn't a 20 minute time limit on the machines. The setup of the cardio equipment is excellent. The televisions are right there for you to watch without having to strain your neck and stare straight up to the ceiling, as was the case at my previous gym. I don't think the machines are "cheap, off-brand" as one reviewer mentioned. The gym is also open 24-7, which is very convenient, so I have the option of working out anytime, day or night. The staff there has always been friendly and knowledgeable about their equipment. I am definitely glad that I found a gym that is very affordable and convenient for me to use. read more

I grew weary of driving to LA Fitness, so i decided to try something closer to my office. I signed up at Snap Fitness...the smartest decision I've made in a long time. The equipment looks like it's brand new and they have plenty of cardio machines...I've never had to wait for a treadmill. Plus, it's the one of cleanest gyms i've been to. I was a member of SNAP when it was on Hill street, but had to let my membership go for a period of time. I decided to go back to SNAP when it moved over to the college on McDonough. I have NO, Zero, ZIP regrets about joining back up! I LOVE the location....can walk there from my home. I LOVE the hours...yes it is busy during typical peak times, but I can always get my work out in. I work out many evenings after work during the week and usually in the mornings on the weekend. I have never had any issue with getting my work out in. The staff is very friendly and have recently taken on a charity project, working with Lifeline Animal Project, holding some adoptions at the gym. This is a local animal shelter and it is wonderful to see the management taking an interest in the community. With your membership, you also have access to the track and the pool at Agnes Scott College. You do not get things like that with other SNAP gyms. The problem with working out for most of us is that if it is not convenient, we don't go! The fact that it is a small gym in my neighborhood and that I don't have to go far at all is all that more of a plus for me to be consistent with my working out. I am more than happy to share my experiences at SNAP with anyone who wants to talk with me. Speak with the management and they will get in touch with me. Oh, and one more thing....unlike many of the other big name gyms, most of the people that work out here are everyday neighborhood people.
