NEVER COME HERE!! YOU WILL BE HARRASSED BY STAFF!!
Before…read moreyou read, there were no resources or business cards at the front desk to contact the gym manager. First big red flag. No way to hold DISGUSTING employees accountable.
I never thought I'd be one to write on Yelp, and I never thought I'd say this, but if I could give this gym zero stars I would!!
Normally, the staff within this gym are great people, but every time this woman works, it ruins my experience.
One day, I took one of my friends over for a workout, and we were stopped at the front door and told that we needed to put our purses in the locker. Mind you, at this point I have never been asked to put my personal items in the locker room, and always keep my mini crossbody purse with me on either the work out bench, under the machine, or on the machine where I put my phone. When I mentioned this to her, she very rudely told me that there was nothing that she could do. I told her that I was not upset with this policy, but it had not been enforced before. When we entered the locker room, we realized that there were no locks. I walked back uo to the front desk and asked if there was a lock that I could either, purchase, or have lended. She told me no, and told me that if I wouldn't comply, I could see myself out. Granted, we finished our workout, with our purses unattended, and with a rude staff looking over us. After this, the rule had not been enforced by any other employee.
About a month later, today, I walked in for a workout after a very long and hard day at work. I greeted the front desk lady, and she told me to have a good workout. She literally watched me do my RDLs with my purse on the bench. When my friend today came to meet me, we headed towards the leg extenders. I was greeted by a girl, who told me that I could not have my purse on the floor underneath the machine. I told her that I understood, but that she saw me walk in with my purse previously and didn't say anything. She told me ok, and I put my purse on the machine. About three minutes later, the same lady from before walked up to me and told me to either put my purse unattended in an unlocked locker, or to get out. I told her that I did not appreciate her attitude, and if she wanted to enforce policy, she needed to enforce it consistently, otherwise, she's unnecessarily disrupting my workout and making a guest unhappy. She then proceeded to YELL at me,"Well I can't change the rules just for you." I put my purse around myself, and finished my workout. She continued to glare at me from the front desk.
On my way out, l approached her as she had an AirPod in her ear. She continued to ignore me. I had to yell "EXCUSE ME" to get her to even look up. asked for her name. When she asked why, I told her that I was calling corporate. She laughed at me and told me no. I told her that I knew the location of which she worked, and her shift. I told her that I would never be back! That is when she said "good" and told me to have a nice day. When I went to take a picture of the sign that simply said that I couldn't have the personal belongings on the floor, she snatched it away.
I walked out and began the process of switching my black card membership to another location. That location is contacting corporate for me, and I'll be expecting a call from the general manager of the gym tomorrow morning.
I am appalled. I have never been so disrespected in such a vulnerable place. Once again, it's not the policy I'm upset with, it's the lack of resources for their guests, the lack of consistency, and the nastiness!! I don't want this location to have anymore of my money!
After I'm done, all of my friends that have memberships at this location will be cancelled. Some have already cancelled them.
That woman needs to be FIRED!! I work in hospitality, and if I EVER knew that if any of my employees had this much attitude, they'd be sent home immediately. It's important to treat others with respect, and I'm incredibly patient when it comes to anyone working in the hospitality industry. I feel violated, and I have not received any de-escalation or solution for the harrassment I experienced. I almost cancelled my membership right then and there. If it weren't for the Planet fitness in Gretna, I'd never walk into a Planet Fitness again.
If you want a good gym, go to the one next to Rouses in Gretna. Bryson handled everything beautifully, even though he didn't have to. They took it out of the kindness of their hearts to go above and beyond!
Do not come here if you are looking for a positive experience!!
DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!!
