I got to the gym at 11 promptly and after a few minutes Tj sees me and says he will be with us in a few. 20 minutes LATER he saunters over with a half assed apology and invites us in to the office. I asked him if he felt it was appropriate to make someone wait 20 minutes with an appointment and stated that my time was as important as his. The youth of today have no work ethic and NO consideration for anyone but themselves . He was rude and arrogant and I walked out.

Anytime Fitness Niantic, CT, and Salem, CT are AMAZING. The owners of these two locations go above…read moreand beyond daily to provide clients with an unparalleled gym experience. Their commitment to clients is evident in the consistent cleanliness state of the gym (other local branches are really gross), a broad spectrum of equipment available that is also clean and usable consistently, and questions/requests are responded to quickly and efficiently (I know, it's hard to believe in this day and time but it is true). Also, the commitment to high-quality trainers/training being available gives one a sense of safety, security, and confidence that you ARE being put on the right path for YOU, not some cookie-cutter program that is not right always for everyone. And, last, but definitely not least, having an experience of feeling important to a business owner is NOT one that is typical anymore (sadly), but IS the experience at the Anytime Fitness locations owned by Axel and Lynnea. Axel and Lynnea, thank you so much for providing a STELLAR place for me to call "home" for my transformation to vital, strong health.

Yes, the building AC and the sauna in the men's locker room were down, but I didn't come for the sauna and the temperature at 5:30-7:00 AM was very agreeable for this time of year. They have a great NOFFS (Navy Operational Fitness & Fueling System) circuit, which has a really good training program. Very nice. The indoor track was great and they offer a huge array of Life Fitness equipment inside. The free weights were very nice. I mainly used the NOFFS side and the dumbbells. I really enjoyed this facility and will visit again as soon as I return to the area. It was never very crowded at my early hours and I never had to wait for any weights or equipment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hand weights, bands, and dance... A great combination! The room is big, well lit, and the people who go to class are friendly. The scheule of classes gives you many optional times of the day to go. The room is air conditioned when it is hot outside, and occasionally we're even treated to cold "spa towels" (washcloth size) to cool off at some point during the class. I've been walking with a friend and pedaling away on my exercise bike, but I'm a girl who needs the espirt de corps of a class. On the spur of the moment, Laura and I (Zumba lovers from way back), decided to give Jazzercise a go. I know, I know...but it's not what you think. This is super fun, old school, low-impact aerobics set to a current soundtrack (Bruno Mars! Ed Sheeran!), and the lot of us (young, old, and in-between) chassed and step-tapped for a happy forty minutes before turning to light weights, crunches, and floor exercises. We were sweaty and grinning and the hour whizzed by. At $55 for unlimited classes a month, plus lots of class times to choose from, this could be my new thing (daycare, too). It's too bad my old Jane Fonda-ish thong is long gone, but I am most definitely pulling out the sweatband for this one. Pricing is month by month, no joining fees. The best deal is $49 a month unlimited classes automatic funds transfer, that can be canceled anytime. Regular price is $55 for a month of unlimited classes and $15 walk in. We went to Old Saybrook but find Jazzercise in Niantic, Killingworth, and Madison, too.
