worst service ever. they where changing the oil and placed the oil filter on wrong. oil went everywhere. all over the engine compartment, windshield, hood. told me if I was worried about smoke to go to a car wash and clean. what the hell. do not use this place ever. manager was just poor quality and service is untrustworthy. just hope that was all of the issues they caused. read more

What an asshole this guy. Went for an oil change and he acted so put off that he had to actually do work. Told me to drive up to bay and that he would pull it in. These people were beyond rude. The person at front desk tries to check me out and realizes that I had asked for head light to be replaced and oil changed. They had only changed light. He goes into back to inquire and leaves door open so I can hear man in back tell him I can get in line behind everyone else there for their oil changed. I had already communicated with the person where I left my car what I needed. They should consider that their clients can hear them from the back when they are being rude and mean. I was in between classes and really needed my oil changed and tires rotated. Drove up and was greeted warmly and they were very careful with my car. They also did it quickly as well. Very well priced and wonderful service. The gentlemen that worked on my car and charged us were very friendly. 10/10 will go again! read more

They have 4 guys here. One is currently working, kind of. The majority of the time you see them talking, laughing, hands in pockets, and not getting much work done. There is not much "snappy" about this place. I could have done 3 oil changes in the time that I've waited on one. I wouldn't really recommend this place. Recently moved down to Covington,GA and needed to have my NC registered vehicle inspected. I drove up to a shop in Franklin (2.5 hour drive) and was immediately referred to Snappy Lube since my vehicle is registered in an emissions county. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter at Snappy Lube. He was polite and eager to help. I pulled my car around and sat in the waiting room as it was inspected, didn't take long at all. I had some friendly conversations with other customers and overall had a wonderful experience today. Once my vehicle was done, I was immediately checked out and good to go. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area or passing through. Thank you all for the wonderful service! read more

*update* Came here to get my car inspected. They said there might be a wait around 30 to 45 mins, which I was fine with. Walked across the street and came back 30 mins later to find out that they moved my car to the side and claimed they did not know anything about my car or knowing it was even there. They told me they would start working on it in 5 mins and spent another 30 mins. Horrible customer service! read more

This is a long story but is worth the read if you plan on using snappy lube in sylva. While my son went to WCU as a criminal justice major and football player. I asked him to go to the local place to get his truck inspected. He went to snappy lube. They told him that he needed some work completed. Which we did. My son returned and they said he needed to drive it a while to reset the ecm. He did. He dropped his truck off and returned to pick it up later. When he arrived they said it needed other work. My son told them thats OK he has had enough of them. He drove straight home 5 hours.. We had a planned vacation to Gettysburg that we left for once he arrived home. 6 days later we could.e back from vacation my son was cleaning out his truck. He told me someone tried to do so ethinh to it because a box was plugged I told his truck. I looked and seen it was an data reader for state inspections. I told him he needed to take it back as soon as he arrived back to sylva. They were very expensive. I figured it was snappy lubes and they left it in his truck. Once he returned to sylva my son had his girlfriend to drop off the reader to snappy lube. The manager Informed her that charges were taken out on my son for stealing their machine. I advised my son to go to the police department to ask what was going on. He told them the story and they dismissed the charges. My son graduated and was hired by a police department where they put him through training for 7 months. With 2 days to his graduation the state denied the certificate to become a officer because of the charges that were filed on him. even though they were false it still was filed. He is under review now. I would like to say what a P.O.S snappy lube is located in sylva. Just because you left a tool in someone's truck you lie to make yourself look innocent while messing up a young mans record that wants to help the community. If you want to use this business DON'T... Not even worth the one star. This is one of the few places in this county that does emissions inspections, and they use that to manipulate customers out of money for services they don't need. My last time there myself and 4 other customers were getting inspections... and we ALL had headlights that were too cloudy to pass inspection... ? That's a hell of a coincidence. The two employees proceeded to charge all of us for headlight restoration - a service the business doesn't even offer. They didn't tell me this until the very end, and could only accept cash for it - cash that they put directly in their pockets. I contacted their corporate office and never received a response. I won't be back. Andy Shaw Ford down the road does emissions inspections and they have a much better reputation. read more

Never again. This isn't the first time I've come away from this place feeling ripped off. They tried the ol' engine flush on me too. When you say no they keep trying to come up with another way to take more of your money. It's like a game to them. How refreshing it would be to just go in and ask for an oil change and get just what you ask for. read more

Don't go here! They inevitably will try to rip you off. Go in for an oil change and they will try to sell you a set of windshield wipers, etc. etc. I went in for a simple inspection sticker recently, knowing from past history that they would try to hit me up for more. Sure enough, they told me that my car passed inspection...but that I needed to have my radiator flushed immediately or my engine would freeze up. Later, I heard about a older woman who took her car to Snappy Lupe for an oil change and wound up getting $350 in engine repairs. read more

I waited 30 minutes before anyone even asked me what I was there for (oil change). They got irritated with me for not knowing which kind I had in before, which I have never been asked anywhere else. Wasn't really happy. I usually go to Sylva Tire but they were closed for renovations. read more

They failed to replace the screws on the dust cover under our car and it came loose, tearing the cover up. When I went in to voice my concerns, the staff more of less told me to shove off. Replacing this part will end up costing me more than the oil change. Would not recommend. read more

Stay away from Snappy Lube in Sylva, NC. They take advantage of women getting oil changes - tell you you need over $300 in extra service. They purposely scared me by saying my car's condition was "bad, bad, bad" and that I might not have one more day before it broke down. Told me the cost of their repair would save me thousands of dollars as opposed to needing a new engine. I had my car checked out by my mechanic the next week - absolutely nothing was wrong. read more

I will never go here again. Came in for an oil change and an inspection. I checked my oil before bringing it in and while I needed a change there was definitely oil in the car. 15 minutes after taking my car back I was called back and told I had no oil in my car. They showed me the dipstick and it was dry. I'm not great with cars but I know how to check my oil so I knew this rapid change in oil level was remarkable. I expressed my doubt/concern with this discrepancy and was met with a persistent argument from the employee that I needed an engine flush. (Upon later consideration this is not even a logical explanation for what occurred, how would a flush help with leaking oil?!) Despite 10 minutes of discussing this he would not remit. Eventually, out of frustration and a desire to leave I agreed to the engine flush. I should have stuck to it and refused but I was (potentially unwarranted ) nervous they would not perform the appropriate tasks in changing my oil if I refused. Regardless I feel swindled and I have never felt such pressure for additional service at an oil change location. Consumer beware. read more

Don't waste your time or money!! After avoiding this place for years I went there for an inspection because no one else in town had time to do it. As always they found a reason to fail the inspection. It was actually amusing due to the fact that it was for wiper blades which had just been replaced a mere 2 weeks earlier. Went in there for an inspection on my wife's car today. Did not have a choice. Was the only place to get an inspection done on my lunch break, which is only an hour. If I had the choice I would have gone anywhere else but here. They ended up ripping us off for $60 and because I was in a hurry I paid it. I say this because I made a dumb call in paying it and don't want others to have the same fate I did. The mechanic was rude and pushy and nearly had my wife in tears. This is no way to provide service. If I wasn't worried about having the cops called and going to jail, which happens in a small mountain town, I would have cussed him up one side and down the other. I was able to keep my cool though some how. They said the light cases needed to be buffed before it would pass. BS BS BS BS BS BS BS! this is just a scam and a way to rip people off. If you have any other choice go somewhere else to have anything done! I can recommend AJ's which is just around the corner and so much better work with good honest people.
