My wife stopped in on Thursday, March 23rd. She was met by an overweight man with a strong country accent, who seemed infatuated by her Florida tags. He kept saying very loudly "she's from Florida" (she grew up In Waynesville, not that it's relevant). He then quoted $150 for an oil change. My wife said I hope you haven't started raining oil yet, please close the hood, and I'll go somewhere else. When she arrived at the somewhere else, they pulled out her air filter in advised her that it appeared to have been dipped in old oil. They checked the airbox to ensure that there wasn't a discharge, and it was not. It appears that the overweight gentleman that I referred to earlier, was trying to get some extra business by dipping a brand new air filter (I had installed it less than two weeks prior) into a vat of used oil in the hopes of an upsell. I emailed the "corporate office" (it's an AOL email lol) and got no response. There are better people and places to do business with. read more

Had oil changed on 6/2/23 at Waynesville NC, Dellwood road location. Took close to an hour to complete Saw tech wiping off my motor profusely. Stench of oil burning off still a day later. Found oil spillage all over the top and sides of motor. $116 for an oil change and they can't even do it right. Or even inform me of the spillage at check out. And have to be subjected to Duck Dynasty on their in-house TV. They suck. Never again. read more

It wasn't a life-changing experience here at the lube station, but it was an oil-changing experience! I came in when I spotted the crew out front joking and smoking cigarettes in the driveway- idle hands. So I pulled in, and they got right to work pulling the car in for me, rattling off a bunch of questions about the car, and popping the hood. They were quick- like NASCAR pit crews, they hollered out to each other as they completed tasks on my car so they worked in unison. I walked down the street to the auto parts store while I was waiting to get some replacement headlights, and when I returned they offered to install the new bulbs for me. They tried to upsell on a few points, but it's nice that they offer to swap out filters and such. The price of the oil change was typical for what I usually pay for such a service. In all, they were quick and efficient, and were good about communicating all the work they were doing and wanted to do, and asked for permission before proceeding. They were honest and fast! When I left they had some religious literature, which is there to help people change more than their oil. read more

Wish I could leave a lower review. Came in with my 2005 Ford E450 Diesel RV to get serviced before my trip back to California, over 2500 miles away. I asked them to do an oil change on the RV and they said sure. They mentioned it was missing the oil fill cap so I mentioned to have them put it back on along with a differential and transmission service. I told them I needed new wipers too. Long story short, they put everything back together on the RV and forgot to put the cap, never installed windshield wiper blades, never did the transmission service nor the differential service all because they didn't have the correct tools. I've been going to Snappy Lube on Dellwood Ave in Waynesville for about twelve years. The work has always been done professionally and at a reasonable price point. Until now. I went to what I thought was Snappy Lube in early March to have my car's oil changed. When I discovered two days later that the car was leaking oil I returned to the garage (which is now Strickland Brothers Ten Minute Oil Change), presented my invoice and a "pit tech" went down in the pit under my car. He didn't say a word until he came out. He told me that he had put in a new oil pan plug and a new washer. He said that was all, I was good to go so I left. He had exacerbated the problem, requiring me to replace the oil pan, which I did at the cost of $566.60. They have refused to reimburse me for my expenses. I quick look at the BBB will reveal that this is standard procedure for this company and I would urge anyone to go elsewhere. read more

A ripoff. I went to this place for a standard oil change that was supposed to cost around $40. First off, the technician felt the need to explain to me that the filter-like thing that air passes through is called an air filter. [sigh] "Condesplaining" isn't unheard of at these types of places, especially if you have two X chromosomes. The plot thickened when I got the bill. The technician had added on a part without asking me first...and this part was marked up 100% over retail! I asked what standard mark-up for parts is, and he refused to answer. More importantly, however, isn't it standard to ask the customer before replacing anything? The bill was just south of $60 by the time the mischief was over. Find another place to get your oil changed, one where they won't foist unwarranted charges or explanations onto their clientele. read more

YES! It is as good as it gets. As I started my 5 hour car ride, I decided to stop by Snappy Lube for a quick fluid check. They are always quick. Fluids were perfect but Sam insisted to check my tires. I said the tires are ok I am in a hurry. Sam still insisted. He said it only takes a minute and there is no cost. Ok, I said but make it quick. We live in Sylva, but always come to this Snappy Lube location as it is far superior to our local Snappy Lube. The employees here are friendly, efficient and trustworthy. I feel like I can trust their advice. The Sylva location seems to be staffed with snake oil salesmen - they try to convince me that I need to drop hundreds of dollars each visit. Additionally, this location has a clean and comfortable waiting area. I feel like their service is a good value and it's not a painful process to get the oil changed. read more

needed a state inspection, so I stopped in for that and an oil change. they spent 5 minutes and came back with a list of problems they needed to fix before they could pass the vehicle (some valid , some not). Told them I'd have the work done where I normally have all my work done , but to go ahead and change the oil. They stated I should just have the oil changed there as well and charged me $23.00 for their time. I agreed and got out of there as quick as I could. I frequently use quick lube shops for oil changes in my work truck. This was the worst experience I've ever had at any shop, the staff had no concerns for covid-19 precautions, no mask, no plexiglass barrier. I was greeted by a tech who left greasy hand prints on my dash. I asked for mobil 1 oil, I was told it was considered a "bottled oil" change. The pricing board listed a bottled oil change at $60. When they finished i handed my card over to the girl at the register, only to be given a receipt for $103.... when I questioned it she stated again thay it was a "bottled oil" change, so I showed her the price on the board and their justification was that my truck requires 6 qts of oil. $40 for an extra quart of oil???? I then spoke to the manager on the phone, he was extremely rude and told the girl at the counter to call the police if I wouldn't sign the receipt. Never have i had such a poor experience with an oil change shop or customer service in general. read more

Some friends of mine recommended that I have my car serviced and my oil changed at Snappy Lube off Dellwood Rd in Waynesville before I left for my trip to Florida on business. When I was there , I was told that my filters had to be completely replaced as they were damaged ..I agreed but when It was time to pay for my car...the oil change turned into over $140.00...high, but still ok if the job was done correctly...but it wasn't! They did NOT tighten the oil filter in place after they added the oil and all of the oil leaked out! Needless to say, it caused huge problems for me on the road. I was a woman driving alone on the road and when I left Snappy Lube they did a check of my car and I was told it was completely road worthy. Not only did their actions ruin my engine completely but I now have no car to drive and I am stuck in Florida with no way to get back to NC.I am going to give them a chance to make things right and I will keep you posted, but I am NOT a happy camper...this should NOT happen and I am going to lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, as well as social media complaints read more

I went to Snappy Lube off of Russ Avenue for an oil change. The tech talked me into changing my cabin filter, which I did, paying $30 for the filter. Today, after only 9,000 miles, I went to another mechanic to have a routine oil change. He informed me that my cabin filter needed to be changed. When I told him it was just changed 9000 miles ago, he informed me that there was no way the cabin filter I had presently in the car could have only 9000 miles on it. It was our conclusion that Snappy Lube charged me for the cabin filter and never changed it, ripping me off for $30. The same tech at Snappy Lube also talked me into getting the "KoolAir" service. Probably blew cool air around the engine. I paid $39.95 for that. Never again. read more
