We had our first child through the midwife program at IU hospital and loved our experience, but…read morehated having to stay two days at the hospital afterwards. We decided to go here for our second so we could get the same type of care but not have the long stay afterwards. Everyone was nice, willing to talk and get to know you and support you in your journey. When it was time to give birth, it was a smooth experience. They checked in as needed but also gave me space as I was in labor. I chose a water birth and everything went quickly and smoothly. And a few hours after birth, we got to go home and sleep in our own bed and just check in the following day. If you're looking for a lower intervention birthing experience without a hospital stay, but also not a full on give birth at home experience, this is the perfect in between!

It was so annoying for her to get woken up and have the baby woken up every 2 hours for random checks. I delivered our second child at home in our living room and my wife wanted more of that sort of experience. Our 4th was born here and my wife got to invite her sisters to be with her and experience the birth. The midwife was awesome and did her job exactly how my wife wanted her to do it. My wife is a strong lady who doesn't need a constant you got this girl to give birth. After my son was born we made the food we brought and a few hours later we got to go home and enjoy the new member of the family in the comforts of our home. Now we are expecting our 5th and my wife wanted me to just deliver the baby at home like I did with our 2nd child. I am not up for that so Sacred Roots is the next best thing. If you do not have any issues with your pregnancy or a great amount of fear about having a baby, Sacred Roots is perfect!

She's the best and the entire office staff has been wonderFul all these years. They have two locations actually-this one and Noblesville-although I'd drive an hour to keep going to them. Heck I almost do now. It is very hard to get an appointment with Dr. Ertel so call in there soon. I've also worked with Dr. Adams a couple times who was equally as great. They are rarely late for appointments and although there have been a couple times the doc has had to deliver a baby so my appointment has to get changed, they are always prompt with communication. Lastly-and most important- I mentioned she has delivered two of my babies. They were c-section but she was totally willing for me to try a VBAC after my first c-section with a previous doctor. That was important because I'm plus size and a number of doctors have too many reservations to try. Seriously- go here.

This is one of the first places though, that I actually was present while they sanitized the waiting area. The staff there was very nice, from top to bottom. I am a very punctual person and one of my main gripes with the place was that I was not called back until 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I understand that things happen, but I like to stick to my schedule. Outside of not meeting my appointment time, this is a great place to bring your child. It is easy to get in and out of and my kid is very comfortable here.

They do not provide behavior mental health services they referred us to Riley. However, at my son's Physical every year, they ask questions about medication that he's on and how things are going. And then consistently charge us an additional charge. Whereas they do give us paperwork stating that if he is seen for anything "additional" that is not the physical at that appointment, we will be charged for it, they do ask questions that lead you down a path. I'm not sure how they expect me to answer questions on his overall well-being and medication's that he's on and not be transparent about behavior mental health as well. Overall, the office staff has always been great, but they have no problem charging you for things that might be ethically questionable.

Called and asked for information about the process of receiving pre-exposure rabies vaccines. I'm…read morestudying to be a wildlife biologist and I focus on bats. It is required of me to receive these vaccines and it is something that should be common knowledge for anyone working in a hospital--regardless of whether you're a nurse or not. After I asked my question, whoever was working reception had zero idea what I was asking for, which is fairly alarming considering rabies is one of the most lethal viruses we have. She asked me if I was a current patient, I said no I don't have insurance. This was when she really stopped helping me. I understand prices are high, but they're going to be high regardless because of what I'm asking for. She told me to ask my school what do, to which I told her they told me to contact hospitals because they are all equipped to give these vaccines. She just kept saying she doesn't know what I was asking for and that she can't help. She then directed me to Jane Pauley, who is closed on weekends. I understand not being versed in everything that happens in a hospital, but not knowing what a pre-exposure vaccine is, and being unwilling in helping access that, is a terrible look for any healthcare facility. Please educate your staff on basic healthcare and train them to not just push people off the phone.
