First time visiting Chicago, and I was on the hunt for a solid dive bar -- ended up at Snickers and it did not disappoint. This place is the real deal. Great drinks, awesome specials, and the kind of crowd that makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time walking in. The bartenders were absolute legends -- friendly, quick, and just the right amount of sassy. I even got to hang out with a local named Calvin who added to the whole vibe. Super chill, super fun, and honestly felt like I was hanging out back home. If you find yourself in the North River area of Chicago and want a no-frills, good-times kind of bar, make sure you swing by Snickers. And when you do, tell them their friends from Tucson sent you!

This is a great little bar. Friendly staff, clean bar and not all the fancy crap. It is bars bar. Definitely worth a visit unless you need tv's and too loud music in the background.

Classic dive bar located in River North, where this is like a throwback to before it became all gentrified. It has better but not really that cheap prices to be honest. Snickers looks pretty crappy from the outside, but the inside isn't any better though. More room inside than it looks to be. There's the main area and several others that are good for parties. At night is the best time to come. It's got quite a few specials going on. These are plastered all over the windows. Have to know what to get. They're pretty limited on healthy options. Even though it's a dive bar, the prices aren't that cheap but they're cheap for around here. It's about $5 to get Old Style. Food is pretty much an afterthought. There's some classic greasy stuff like gyros. Better than it looks as far as everything. It's like a dive bar with higher prices. There's some things here that are pretty cheap though.

I had never been to this bar before. I live down the street. I sat down at the bar, tried to scoot the chair over, and got my finger crushed in the broken chair. I got no apology. I asked to speak to the manager. The bartenders just said "there isn't anything we can do.". Not friendly at all. Did not seem to care. Only thing she cared about was telling me to put my finger away cause it grossed her out. They just stared at me as if I had inconvenienced them when it was their property that caused harm to me.

Not sure how I haven't left a review on this place yet. We stayed right across this place this trip and ended up here each night pretty much. They have great prices and perfect bar food to end that night. The TV's are always on sports and the bar is always half packed. It's a great dive bar to pop in for a drink.

I get it...this place it downtown...but $18 for a Makers Mark on the rocks is ridiculous...you're better off going next door to CBR and getting a better bourbon at a lower price. The atmosphere is entertaining, yet sketch, so kind of cool. Maybe just stick to the drink specials here, and call it good.

Full bar selection. No new fancy beer here!

Laid back, nothing fancy, just the way I like it. Bartenders are friendly, bathroom is clean. Appetizers are basic. Visited twice

Gyro's were pretty decent, and Old Style, what a combination. This is not fine dining, but the food is tasty and fairly priced

Worst Bar- soft pours on mixed drinks and an overall feeling that you are getting ripped off. There is a bar around the corner. Go there.

Went on Friday night and it was packed! Can understand why it was packed as the liquor pours were generous and staff were friendly.

It's a reasonably-priced busy dive bar in the heart of Chicago. I asked the bartender if she had a beer + shot deal and she said "no, but you can order a beer and shot." And so we did! Noise level is fairly high, thanks to a lively crowd plus a jukebox. They don't normally serve food but I think are fine with customers bringing in your own food, and you can also place an order from a nearby restaurant (I don't recall which one). And yes, it's cash only so bring some money if you don't want to pay ATM fees! 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. I like bars that allow customers to bring (or order) their own food - it allows for all diets! The one thing I'd like to see is more beer on tap - even just one good rotating local beer (e.g., Goose Island). Draft beer has smaller environmental footprints compared to bottled or canned.

After a quick ID check at the door, the bouncer let us know it's cash only (thankfully we came prepared). From the moment we walked in, dim lighting, loud music, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds gave the vibe of a full-on frat party, but not in a bad way. It's chaotic, energetic, and unapologetically no-frills. There's even a self-serve cooler with drink prices clearly listed underneath. I grabbed a Sapporo Premium, brought it to the counter, and our friendly bartender broke our change and offered a chilled glass to pour it into. Simple and efficient. That said, it was loud, so loud that even whispering-distance conversations were a struggle. The space is small, seating is limited, and since we couldn't snag a spot, we ended up leaving shortly after finishing our drinks. This feels like a better weekday hang than a packed weekend night. Still, if you're looking for a classic, gritty, no-frills dive experience, Rossi's delivers exactly that.

I realize it's not the simplest shot to make. The gray-haired bartender refused as it was too much work for one shot. Fair enough, I said I'd get two. He said making fewer than four was "a pain in the ass" and he wouldn't do it. Never mind then! Paid, tipped, and started to leave. Didn't want to interrupt the guys impersonation of a bartender for too long. I did mention it to the door staff as I was leaving and they had a problem too. Told me "yeah he's 100% right". Whatever! We tried to be patient, but we had an appointment to get to. My fiancé politely said, "Excuse me, I didn't get my drink," and the bartender snapped back, "You didn't order a drink." When my fiancé clarified, the bartender doubled down and said, "No, you didn't, and if you have a problem, you can leave too." At that point, the two men walked out, and we should have, too. Needless to say, this place is a hard pass. Cringe vibes, rude staff, and no sense of customer service. If I could give 0 stars, I would. So I visited it in her stead (another benefit of subscribing to AfterActionReport.info). Quite simply the best maintained dive bar I have ever had the pleasure of drinking in and an AAR Must Drink. Most dive bars have a fair amount of seed and are in need of some repair, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not this place, as the spotless tile floor was completely intact, all the swivel barstools (each branded "Richard's Bar" across the back) still swiveled, and the tin ceiling stunning. It's coming up on a hundred years, but the entire joint has been as lovingly cared for as it is cleaned daily. The place has a slight smell of cigarettes. When I mentioned to Joe the bartender, that "I didn't think you could still legally smoke in a bar in this country." He replied "You can't, but people do," as he placed an ashtray next to my beer. All that, and Norm Wendt's brother-in-law bought me a bottle of Old Style because it was his birthday, which was drunk while listening to Steve Lawrence on the jukebox.
