First, tried calling the telephone number listed and a voice said it was out of order; when I got to the restaurant (to pick up my web order) was told that they didn't have any phones. So, I ordered via their web site (accepted a larger meal than I wanted because there wasn't any other option - only wanted 2 enchiladas, not 3). When I arrived I told the guy my name and that I had ordered online; he checked his phone and then placed the order! So, ordering online doesn't provide any advantage in terms of wait time is concerned. When I got home to eat, the chips and salsa were tasteless, the red sauce (for the enchiladas) was so spicy I couldn't eat it (and I like spicy food), the enchiladas were like cardboard (even the filling - ground beef), and everything was fairly cool to warm, not at all hot. I tried them out for their $2.50 Taco Tuesday this week. Nobody was there when I walked in at 1:30pm. I ordered the Asada, Adobado & Chorizo. Unfortunately, Cabeza my favorite, was not offered on the menu. WHERE'S THE CABEZA? HOT and FRESH Chips & Salsa were provided GRATIS. My order was delivered to my table QUICKLY and looked VERY APPETIZING. I was provided with the usual red hot sauce and mild green sauce in squeeze bottles. There was also a rather TIMID sauce called Valentina, but I passed that by after a small sample. All of the tacos were GOOD and I enjoyed them very much. But the other Taco Tuesday I RAVE about is just down Courtenay and methinks is a better value. I am glad that I tried out Mi Mexico Lindo. Service was polite and efficient. I stopped in today to try some tacos. I noticed they had a crispy taco platter which came with rice and beans. That was the ticket and it was delivered by my friendly server very quickly. The tacos were very crispy and flavorful and their house red sauce pumped up the spice a bit. I noticed while eating two big plates of sizzling fajitas go by my table. Itbsmelled wonderful and I think I will try that next visit. The rice and beans also were very tasty. The rice was fluffy and mild while the mix of whole and liquid beans was hearty and filling. We were anchored off of Indian Cove at Merritt Island, having a couple of beers at Docs Bait House when we started to get a little hungry. We asked the bartender, who asked the local crowd where to get some good Mexican food and their unanimous response was Mi Mexico Lindo, followed by a chorus of "get the Tacos Burria", followed by mouth watering descriptions and more emphasis to "get the Tacos Burria". So off we went, walking about a mile and found a rather unassuming little place in a strip mall that was Mi Mexico Lindo. They opened at 5 and we were a little early but the guy at the audio place next store said " it's really good and their son is cooking tonight so you want to wait around for them, and so we did. Soon enough the doors were unlocked and we were given our choice of booths. Now I have to say that the booth seats need some new foam so if you have a boat cushion or pillow you may want to bring it along to give yourself some firmness in the seat. Our waiter was prompt and efficient at getting us some tea after which my wife asked him what was good. "Tacos Burria" was his immediate response. We were sensing a trend so we both ordered the Tacos Burria and now I'm here to jump on the band wagon and tell you my friend, go to Mi Mexico Lindo and get the Tacos Burria, you will not be sorry. read more

Mi Mexico Lindo- Merritt Island, FL- 2 Stars Continuing my quest in the post-Covid world of surviving restaurants, I found myself in the mood for some good ole authentic Mexican food. I jumped into the Big Boy Mobile and headed north until I found myself in front of Mi Mexico Lindo in Merritt Island. If nothing else, at least they had a pretty name. Get it? I would be remiss if I didn't touch on the post-virus precautions they have introduced to protect their staff and patrons. The place was spotlessly clean and the seating was well spread out, not that that mattered as we were the only ones in the place. Was this foreshadowing of the fare or timing? Soon upon sitting, a lovely young lady by the name of Tia approached. While Tia did have that "pre-busy, I don't wanna be here vibe" emanating from her, she was pleasant and competent. I placed an order for a Taco plate, one carne asada and one chorizo as the Big Boy likes his spice! First up were the fried to order tortilla chips and homemade "authentic" guacamole. The guac (as we called it in the foodservice industry back in the day) was incredibly creamy and had deep red, lush tomatoes in it, yet something was missing. I couldn't quite put my finger on it then it hit me...flavor! I am serious, there must have been zero seasonings in this guac, it was completely tasteless. Shouldn't there be at least a hint of fresh lime juice in it? Perhaps some salt or chili powder? This was a creamy mix of avocado and tomato and nothing else. The chips were as you would expect. They were obviously fried to order and the fry cook nailed it. Moving on to the taco plate, I was hoping things would improve and here is where I would find their real-deal Mexican flavors. For starters I found their Mexican rice to be exceedingly unappealing and their homemade concoction of beans disgusting. Neither brought any joy to the palate. With slight trepidation, I moved on to the tacos. Sampling the carne asada taco first I was immediately taken in by the chew factor of the gristle I was attempting to masticate. This was either the cheapest, lowest grade of meat they could find, or I got lucky. Either way it was inedible as I couldn't chew through the gristle. The chorizo had to be related to the previously mentioned guacamole as it too had as much flavor as a piece of cardboard. Chorizo with no taste?? How is that even possible? I think the whole plate should be renamed to "Taco Birria Plate" as birria means apology in Spanish and they sure owe their patrons one for this bland hot mess! How an "authentic" Mexican restaurant could serve flavorless food is beyond me, unless, of course, they have been led to believe that Americans prefer their food tasteless (I assure you, at least this one, does not). This place is a 5 star for this area. I would put it as a 4 star for florida. Brevard county is not know for quality Mexican. Very rare to find something that compares to what you get in Orlando or where I grew up in Colorado. That being said... Great food. Run by a local family. Just an update on Mi Mexico Lindo. We have eaten here several times since our initial dinner. Everything we have had has been excellent. The Carnitas dinner was as good as I had hoped based on the Carnitas Taco. The meat was moist and very tasty with the right amount of outside crispiness. We like this place so well, that I have driven down there from our home to pick up takeout orders. My wife did complain to me one time when we ate in when she ordered her regular meal, the Carne Asada. It had been more heavily seasoned than all the previous times and was spicier (hotter) than she typically eats. It also had more Cumin than on previous occasions. Our suspicion is that their regular cook was not in yet as it was fairly early. It was not "bad," only different, and did not rise to us making a comment or issue.
