    Birria tacos

I ordered birria tacos from Uber eats delivery so I can't speak to service or atmosphere but DAAANNNGGG the three tacos were amazing! The guacamole was not very good- and a starting to go brown. It was pricy to get pitched so I deducted a star there. I ate the chips with salsa instead, and they were good.

Lovely little spot. Our server was super nice and attentive, food was tasty and authentic, price was absolutely right! We had many tacos, sopes, guacamole, and all were very good. Fresh chips, too! Thanks for a lovely meal.

I tried them out for their $2.50 Taco Tuesday this week. Nobody was there when I walked in at 1:30pm. I ordered the Asada, Adobado & Chorizo. Unfortunately, Cabeza my favorite, was not offered on the menu. WHERE'S THE CABEZA? HOT and FRESH Chips & Salsa were provided GRATIS. My order was delivered to my table QUICKLY and looked VERY APPETIZING. I was provided with the usual red hot sauce and mild green sauce in squeeze bottles. There was also a rather TIMID sauce called Valentina, but I passed that by after a small sample. All of the tacos were GOOD and I enjoyed them very much. But the other Taco Tuesday I RAVE about is just down Courtenay and methinks is a better value. I am glad that I tried out Mi Mexico Lindo. Service was polite and efficient. PAY CASH otherwise there is a 3.5% ADMIN. FEE for using a credit card!

I stopped in today to try some tacos. I noticed they had a crispy taco platter which came with rice and beans. That was the ticket and it was delivered by my friendly server very quickly. The tacos were very crispy and flavorful and their house red sauce pumped up the spice a bit. I noticed while eating two big plates of sizzling fajitas go by my table. Itbsmelled wonderful and I think I will try that next visit. The rice and beans also were very tasty. The rice was fluffy and mild while the mix of whole and liquid beans was hearty and filling. Give them a try and you will not go wrong.

Everything I've had here so far has been great: tacos, gorditas, chile relleno, sopes, guacamole, and even the chips and salsa. The prices are reasonable and the staff is all very friendly. The exterior view is very misleading while the interior is very inviting and comfortable. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is a great choice!

I have eaten at a lot of different Mexican food joints in my life. By far this place is magical in that the food was simply amazing! The taste and flavor of the burritos was amazing my kiddo had a quesadilla and loved it! Salsa and queso were on point! Can't say enough good!

Simply can't wait to return. The long version says the following: The location is easy to get too, and the inside of the restaurant is visually appealing. Though I do lean towards the beachy, tropical theme of things, this place does it without being kitschy or tacky. Though I expected the inside to have been wholly remodeled since the last restaurant that was a tenant here - it really had not. Instead, they updated the seating, bar, and outside to their taste - which is good, IMHO. I really liked the use of tablets for their menus. This was novel to me as I had never experienced it until I came here. The tablets worked well and even so, you got a feel for how extensive their menu truly is. Food-wise, there were no complaints around the table. I had their pork bowl which not only comes out hot and fresh, but copious - I just couldn't finish it - they piled on the food with what appeared to be wild abandon. My wife had their fajita plate which was massive. That definitely ended up going home with us. Desserts were their flan which had a flavor I had not expected, maybe not to true style, but definitely rich and delicious. No complaints here. Service was not only friendly but patient with us as we had plenty of questions for being our first time here, but it wasn't as attentive as I would have like. I think the waiter was overstretched in tables, but he still did an overall great job with us. In short, the newest Mexican restaurant in the area represents very well, and we are looking forward to our next trip back, hopefully very soon...

The restaurant itself looked the part and so did the food. ..The atmosphere and presentation of the food were exactly what you'd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant....Unfortunately, the flavor just wasn't there. We ordered the ceviche..it was lazily slapped together..let's say it's "rustic" style it had about 1oz of tomatoes and a 1/4 of red onion with 3 colossal shrimp cut into chunks in it and a half of avocado for $13. We ordered two kids' enchiladas with rice and beans, a kids' quesadilla, an order of flautas, and a horchata. While everything looked great, almost every dish lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. Ironically, the most flavorful thing we had was the salsa but it came in such a tiny bowl that it was gone after literally four chips. It was about the size of just over a ketchup cup, which wasn't nearly enough for the basket of chips. The horchata was also disappointing. It tasted more like watered-down milk than the rich, cinnamon-flavored drink i was expecting. If you're looking for authentic, bold hispanic flavors, this may leave you disappointed. However, if you're looking for a more diluted, americanized mexican restaurant, this may be exactly what you're looking for. Jonathan's excellent service is the reason this review received 4 stars instead of fewer.

Clean, nice ambiance, prices were very fair too. Please ignore my taco pic as I had to hurry and it was swinging! My personal favorite was the Chicharron taco and it was fried to perfection! It was crispy without losing flavor or juiciness. Just the right amount of spice too. The tinga taco also has as very tasty and the cheese was a bonus. The sangria was flavorful and refreshing; I personally prefer sangria Blanca but this was tasty and not heavy. Just a hint of cinnamon to liven it up. I will try a sit down meal with them and soon! Jamaica and fresca were delicious and genuinely fresh, a must with this kind of food. Though we were not here for a full dinner, we were told the queso fundido was a must try and it was! They sat a charded jalapeno dead center and mixing it all together took it to the next level. The tacos were underwhelming though. I had steak, chicken tinga and chicharron, the chicken tinga blew them away flavor wise. I did like the attention to detail and bite size of the chicharron. The tortilla itself was offputting texture wise. You couldn't fold it without ripping. We are willing to try again, we will see in the future!

Inside, we were immediately, warmly greeted and seated. Simple decor. The booths looked hand-carved as we have seen made in Mexico. Pleasant and artistic. Not overdone. We both got the Taco Special. $3 each. Chips & salsa arrived. The salsa was unusual. Made on site. The tomatoes and ingredients were smoked and grilled. Greenish in color, it was beyond delicious with a slight smoky flavor. Never had anything like it. Flavorful and not hot spicy. We also ordered Queso which was also delicious and just the right temperature and consistency. The soft corn tacos arrived. They seemed small although completely filled with pork, chicken, beef, cilantro, and veggies. Delicious. Great flavor. Every bite. The plates were beautiful and looked like they were handmade. Add a cold Mexican Larger in a mug and it was a perfect lunch. The service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. Polite. Mannered. We will be back to this local family owned restaurant for sure. I highly recommend this place. We are looking forward to trying "Happy Hour" with $3 margaritas served in beer mugs.

Mostly Hits *Magic Chicken was good - if you're a local, El Tucan served a slightly better/fresher version of this dish. Still very good and happy to know where to find it locally. *Birria Tacos were good. Less salty than some of the ones we've had on the island, but less flavorful than some too. Right down the middle. *Service makes both lists since we had 2 and they were polar opposites of one another for us on our last visit. Definite Misses *Salsa was meh. Asked for their spicy salsa next and it was also meh. Not horrible, just ok. Chips were firm and less salty than we like. *Margarita...was not a margarita. It was 90% sour mix and a maybe a splash of something. It wasn't on the menu. When asked, we got a weird non-committal response on it from the server and we pretty much got what we expected when a Mountain Dew looking drink arrived in a beer mug with a straw. Might've been a premixed margarita or one of those malt liquor ones (like the cheap Fireball ones). *Service was spotty. We'll probably go back at some point and try some friend recommendations when we do - fingers crossed. We weren't upset with anything we tried, but we weren't wowed either. Lots of local choices to consider....
