On my recent cruise, we stopped at Cape Canaveral. I only had two stops on my agenda, Coco Beach and this cute little shop I read about serving some of the best key lime pies in Florida. After a sunny day at the beach, our group of eight walked to this shop and decided on buying a whole pie for $18 instead of two slices at $5 a pop. Certainly the better deal, but we also didn't want to regret later for not ordering enough. Well, it was a very good decision. We devoured the whole pie in one sitting like a bunch of starving hyenas seeing food for the first time in weeks. There was not a crumb left by the time we finished. The pie was as great as they say, and definitely one of the best I ever had. Just the right amount sour and tartness without being overly sweet. If I were to nitpick, then I would like a slightly thicker graham cracker crust. Not sure when I'll come back to Cape Canaveral again. However, if I do, this may have become stop number one on my list. You can find beaches everywhere, but an excellent key lime pies is a treasure you rarely discover. read more

Some of the best places were the places we didn't even plan on stopping by, like this place. We just happened to stumble onto this little gem of a shop after visiting Ron Jon's main shop across the street. The word "ice cream" caught my eye, and even if it was late February, the weather was warm, which is strange, given a week prior to our arrival, it was freezing cold, so ice cream it was. There was a little line in the store, with only one man scooping ice cream for a bunch of people waiting (who was also the cashier). It was funny to see how people would copy each other with choosing the flavor; the lady in front said "sweet cream" flavor, and each successive person behind her said the same thing, even if they were not with her. I stuck to my guns and got the Key Lime Pie Ice cream, which was a great choice! Sweet, creamy and tangy, all the right combo! They also have candies, salt water taffies of all flavors, beer, alligator jerky, Tortuga rum cakes, key lime pies, a huge wall of hot sauces, and gifts. I ended up walking out with a bottle of hot sauce and orange blossom perfume roller ball, which was very nice. Prices were reasonable given this is tourist-town. read more

Since we were in the area for Ron Jon and I love key lime pie, we stopped here. It's one of my favorite desserts! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The place has jerky and many other things. We primarily wanted pie and ice cream. They have a ton of things lime flavored including the juice. The immediate standout to me was the salt water taffy! They had so many flavors that I've never seen. The only reason I didn't buy any is because I wanted every flavor. I figured if I bought every flavor, I'd start eating it and forget what flavor it was supposed to be. So with that, we got a slice of pie and a scoop of ice cream each. I got the key lime ice cream and it was delicious. My wife got some pineapple/mango/combo ice cream. It was also good. I'm only taking off 1 star because of the pie. It was good at first but had a weird aftertaste that I couldn't ignore. Not sure if my slice came from a bad batch of lime juice or what. It just wasn't good and because the name of the place has key lime in it.. I have to account for that. Loved this place! I've never really had key lime pie before but this one was very creamy and refreshing. Even the baby liked it. We got a whole pie for $18, which I felt like was a great deal, but you can also get individual slices for $5. I was back in Cocoa Beach on a cruise with Bama and we had to make a stop at the key pie company. It's still as delicious as I remembered, but sadly, so many of the key lime wine and beverage companies have gone out of business since my last visit they're no longer tastings of the beverages, but they still have a small selection available, as well as beers for purchase. Big key lime pie fan here. First off you need to go on a weekend so you can meet Sweetie the gator outside first. I petted Sweetie the gator while she was getting her gator nails painted hot pink. Then we went inside and bought a slice of their signature key lime pie and some Key West key lime seasoning. There were other customers coming in just to buy a key lime pie. This place is pretty packed with tourist come in and out esp cuz it's right across Ron Jon's surfboard store. They do help out and are real friendly tho. Food: we got the gator jerky to try ($14). Interesting, some says it tastes like chicken. It just tasted like jerky imo. They have more than just gator jerky. A good amount of different jerky's including ostrich. We also got the key lime yogurt pretzels. The first few taste real good. But then the flavor gets kinda boring. It's nice cuz you don't end up eating the whole thing all at once. I am a key lime fan, so anywhere that has a bunch of key lime stuff, count me in! This is a shop that has pie, ice cream, taffy, and plenty of other key lime and Florida based stuff. There's also a baby alligator that they have there some times (call for details). I happened to visit during an air show day, so the alligator was not there. I tried the key lime pie slice and a snickerdoodle key lime cookie. The pie was cool and the cookie was yummy (I appreciated the unique concept, it wasn't something I had seen before). I also tried some funky flavors of taffy (they easily had over 100 flavors). I'm not really a taffy person so I don't think I have much to report either way about that part of my visit. This is such a weird touristy type store. There were like three key lime pies in a freezer, uncovered not even in a clamshell pie case or anything just hanging out in the freezer, and they tasted freezer burnt and wet as well. Soggy crust, the pie itself was extremely tart but not in the way key lime pie should be. My kids described it as tasting like soap. Not even gonna lie-- I came for the gator (Sweetie!) but left with some key lime goodies and met some great people! First off, a bit about Sweetie : she's a blind gator that was rescued by the business owner Louie and his friend , J.R. Sweetie was set to be put down and J.R. wasn't having it so the two worked together to save her . Now she lives a pampered existence and is an international celebrity (courtesy of TikTok) and regularly makes appearances at the store and other events around town . Her name suits her because she is indeed a sweetie . Louie and J.R. were so kind to indulge my love of gators and let me spend as much time with her as I wanted (even after they had closed). Their store manager , Amanda was also a sweetie - offering popular product recommendations and just being all around hospitable ! Now, onto the store . They have every kind of key lime product your heart could desire ! They also have a unique collection of locally produced products from hot sauces to beer.
