Both came out at different times both of them were crying and had the worst experience cried the whole way home. Horrible experience for my 15 year old granddaughter. The dentist knew she had been through a root canal earlier that day and as soon as her mom had to leave the room he turned into a monster to my granddaughter. She has a low tolerance for pain and of course was crying but instead of trying to soothe her he became angry and grabbed her by her jaws and told her he had four year old that acted better. This just intensified her anxiety and made her sob even more. When I quickly tag teamed my daughter to go be with my granddaughter, the dentist slammed the door to the room as I was escorted there by the receptionist. I just thought he was busy so I waited in the waiting room outside. Both girls that brought her out trying to shh... her from saying anything didn't have 100% luck. She said enough that I knew the dentist had done something to upset her greatly. In fact enough that I pointed to the pediatric sign right on the wall and said we'll find out what happened in the car but with that sign on the wall, that dentist better have handled things properly. I even added you cannot work in this field if you don't have patience and lots of it. There is so much more I want to say but I am concluding with the fact that noone I know will step foot in that office for any type of dental procedure, and from now on I will politely let myself in anywhere someone I care about is being treated. read more

I believe the dentists here work on a quota system. I felt every time they looked in my mouth they were looking for a billable procedure rather than helping me care for my teeth! My dentist, Dr. Park replaced an implant that did not need to be replaced. That is not just my opinion but the opinion of two different dentists that inspected the crown and told me this should have been used again! I consulted with two different dental techs, including the one who made the crown, and they both said there is nothing wrong with the crown! One of the things you want most in todays day of questionable ethics is a doctor and dentist with integrity. Unfortunately I did not find this with Dr. Park! read more

This is one of the most professional and well knowledgeable dentist offices that my husband I has ever gone too. They give exceptional services and aren't a corporate type of business to where they are charging you for services and or saying that you need services that you don't need because you have good insurance and they're trying to make a profit. They operate with integrity and with pride in the services they provide. The entire office is always nice and professional. Dr. Matthew is the best. My husband absolutely loves him. He despises going to the dentist but he goes even more now because of him . If I could rate them a perfect 10 I would. We've been with them for a very long time from the Hermitage office when our babies were young, Mt. Juliet when we moved to Smyrna, and now Murfreesboro where we reside. We recently changed from another local dentist reluctantly after changes with our insurance. We chose Snodgrass & King after hearing positive feedback from other family receiving dental care there. Staff is very friendly and engaging with the child and parent. I really like how they allowed my son to see how well he had been brushing by the "blue toothpaste". I had been looking for the antiquated disclosing tabs that I grew up using. They have the game room for older children and a play area for younger children. The games have definitely played roughly by some kids through the years but still worked enough for the kids to enjoy for the brief waiting time (5-15 minutes). They also shared about options to help my youngest son to his stop thumb sucking which may prevent the need for braces later in life. Very pleased with this first visit especially after have been with another provider for nearly 7 years. Change can be hard but the experience here made it a little easier. Update 7/26/2018 Changed from 4 star to 5 Star: Both kids (7 y/o and 3 y/o) had appointments together. I was to sit in a spot to have sight of both of them since the younger opted for the individual room. Speedy, efficient service--in and out within 30 minutes for cleanings. When establishing next appointments, I mentioned that my oldest doesn't like to miss school so we might have to split them up. The hygienist offered to check the school schedule to see when they would be out of school. Amazing!! Very pleased customer!! read more

I have to agree about the friendliness about the people at the front desk; it seems hit or miss sometimes, and I've never noticed if they're the same staff members or not. This last time the girls didn't greet us, but when I signed in they were kind of neutral in their interaction. The nurse who came to get us back for the cleaning was very friendly and my son took an instant liking to her. The office is very clean, but without that artificially clean smell (no chemical aroma). The kids liked the games, but the kids only had time to play one each, which is fine. My daughter is 2 and this was her second cleaning. She was a little tense with the plaque scraping, but was at ease the rest of the time. My son is 6 and has been getting cleanings for the past 5 1/2 years here, so he was an old pro. I was concerned he'd need his new molar filed down because there's an extra growth/corner on the inside that has been hurting his tongue. Even though he knew they may have to file it down and how the process would work, he wasn't afraid. He ended up not needing it; as he eats it will wear down naturally over time. My kids really trust the staff here. My daughter talked about the visit to the dentist all day long to every stranger she passed, and kept asking if we could go back. They were very informative about any changes I needed to make in their teeth brushing routines, and answered all of my questions. There's a reason we've been customers for 6 years! read more

I've had an awful experience overall. At a young age, they put braces on my teeth, which was understandable based on how crooked my teeth were. After putting them on too early (before all my teeth grew in), my canines grew in over the braces which then moved all my teeth to an even worse state than before. After taking these braces off and waiting around a year, they then decided to put them on again. This time though my insurance didn't cover it, which they neglected to tell my parents. After this they switched the lady that handled the finances, which caused my parents to have many problems figuring out when and what we needed to pay. At this time, my family and I are trying to find a new orthodontist because I have been in braces for a collective 7 years, which is a problem. My mom also felt as if Snodgrass-King tried to keep them on as long as possible, based on the fact they would tell me a month they planned on taking them off and then next appointment they decided it should be done 6 months later. Overall, the experience was very impersonal and made me hate going to the orthodontist. I also went to another orthodontist for a second opinion and to get the braces removed/continued with a new orthodontist due to all the problems we had. This other orthodontist of course had to call Snodgrass-King just to get my info and they told him that they offered multiple times to take my braces off for free. This was completely new info to my family, as we have not heard one thing about them offering to take them off. As of today, I'm going on Monday to get them removed by Snodgrass-King due to money restraints, but I am not the happiest about it. Overall, they clearly show their faces as a company and not a reliable or nice place to be. They constantly left my parents and I in the dark when it came to my procedures. read more

This is a great dentist. We arrive a little early and get called back very quickly. My daughter goes back and I get to chill in the waiting room. Then about 20-30 minutes later they come and get me. I go back to where she is and the dentist comes and examines her after the cleaning has already been done. We make another appointment for 6 months and out we go! She has not stopped talking about how scary her experience was. She's told me about a wire pinching her lip, feeling them stretching her mouth open to work on her teeth and lots of other things. She may not have been completely awake but she was aware and scared. 4 1/2 hrs spent in the office. Thinking to myself , why did they only do 2 sealants. Why not knock it all out ? I put up with this because I thought Dr King seemed like a nice caring guy but our son has to go back to get his teeth fixed again because his work was not done well. I recently moved into the area and with that our landline has been recycled. It belonged to former patients of Snodgrass King Pediatric Dental. They called and left a message about an upcoming appointment for two children who no longer are at this number. After the appointment was missed I received a call (and answered the phone--whoops!) where the associate on the phone scolded ME about their cancellation policy, a fee that was due, and wanted to know why those children missed their appointment AND where they were. Ummm...excuse me? I told her they don't live here nor do I know them or where they live. She wanted contact information for them and wanted to know how they were going to get paid. Ummm....excuse me? I do not know them! Just happen to have the same number.... BBB anyone? AND I have a baby son (my only child) who hasn't been to a dentist yet (he needs teeth first?) but he will certainly NOT be going to Snodgrass King. How unprofessional to say the least... SO AWESOME! We recently moved and came to Snodgrass-King for our dental care for our kids. We were able to get an appointment the very next day and were seen promptly at appointment time! The hygienists, Amanda and Bri, took care of my kids were kind and sweet but thorough and precise with them. LOVED that. They showed them how their brushing was going and how it should go. Seeing the blue/purpley stuff on their teeth was an eye opener, and I feel like the kids really understood that you have to brush with purpose. We did quick x-rays and sat in a semi private room with two chairs for them. I was able to sit there with them as well. I was close enough to know what was going on but not so close as to get in the way. That was awesome. After their cleaning, the docs came in. That's right, they each had their own Dr. checking them out afterwards! After getting the all clear, they asked if I had any concerns or questions and I let them know we had been seeing an ortho doc before we moved. They offered a consult with the ortho doc right then and there! We finished up, moved on to the next room and saw the ortho doc within minutes. He was very kind and gentle with kids as well. The level of service here was OUTSTANDING! from the moment we walked in (btw the waiting room is awesome, my son was stoked there was an ARCADE!) the receptionist, the hygienist, the doctors, and the finance coordinator were all STELLER! I feel lucky to have found this dental office and will be happy to return in 6 months ;) read more

If your child is sick do not cancel the appointment or they will kick you out as a patient. Over several years my son missed a few appointments, and now we have to find another dentist to take care of the equipment they installed because we did not bring him in while he was throwing up. This is after a great deal of patience we had with them over some unnecessary equipment they originally had us pay out of pocket for, and then took almost a year to refund the money for the useless and painful surgery our son had to endure. read more

Snodgrass King Pediatric Dental Associates is a terrible place! We will never use them again and we believe everyone should be aware of what happened there today. We took out six year old in for a minor surgical procedure which would have required a local anesthetic shot in the tongue...I know, just the thought would make 99% of the adult population go running right! But when they called his name some 35 minutes late after our appointment time (I guess their time is more valuable than ours!) they insisted only he was allowed to go back after we promised our son one of us would at least be there with him. Mind you, after the local was introduced, I think he would have been fine, but they stuck to their guns and had their "assistant" continually tell us over and over again that if we wanted to reschedule our appointment someplace else that was fine, otherwise, I guess we had better "follow their rules" because apparently world..."THEY KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR EVERYONE!" Long story short, even though they made certain they had our money in HAND before they would even SCHEDULE the appointment, we decided enough was enough and we left. This place is about one thing, and one thing only...MONEY $$$$! Their "we know what's best for everyone" attitude is enough to make you want to scream..."does anyone here have any common sense at all?" Take our word for it, we will certainly NEVER use their services again and we'll be certain to tell EVERYONE we know about this experience! read more

Until recently I loved Snodgrass & King. For routine check-ups I think they do a fine job. However, I recently had my 6 yr. old daughter there to get 3 crowns/caps on. Everything seemed okay up until the time they brought my daughter out after the procedure. They said she screamed the entire time, physically held her down, and then retrained her by strapping her down. My daughter howled the entire way home and then for a while afterwards until she finally fell asleep. Two days later, her mouth still hurts. After talking with my daughter, she remembers all of this and was able to convey her terror to me. I called and spoke with the folks at the dentist only to find out that she reacted the same way 1 1/2 years ago when she had a cap put on. Additionally, at some points in the conversation, the person I was speaking with was just plain condescending (I don t have the dental knowledge to know... ). No one bothered to tell me then and I don t believe they meant to tell me this time. At no point during the procedure while she was so upset did they notify me. I am appalled by the way she was treated. I should have known better than to trust a place that won't let the parent go back with the child. On their pre-procedure paperwork, there is a disclaimer that under extreme circumstances they may wrap the child in a pedia-blanket. By the way, that is a nice way of saying they will be strapping your child down. Be wary. Read and question everything! Ask for the notes of what happened while your child was away from you. Best advice though is to find a place that lets you stay with your child! My daughter will not ever return to this dental practice and I am advising my friends to follow suit. read more

When I set the appointment I was told over the phone that the appointment was for consult, but when we arrived I was told consults are only completed in the mornings. This should have been shared with me when I set the appointment. I was told that the appt was to check his teeth to ensure he was ready for braces and to take x rays. We had already been told at his cleaning a year ago that he was ready for braces. Not sure why we needed to be told again. Also, there should be a more efficient process/steps to get ready to put braces on. No parent should have to have 3 appointments to put on braces .One to approve the child for braces, second for consult/spacers and third to have braces put on. My time is very valuable. Autumn was really upset about how her cleaner was rough and eager to pull her tooth. She complained about her tooth hurting for the remainder of the day. She said that the lady that cleaned her teeth said "I love to pull teeth" and teased her by saying "want me to pull it?!" Autumn said she wasn't very nice. My sons teeth have had no Problems at any checkup. On my recent visit, all Of a sudden they say he needs 2 crowns and 6 fillings under general anesthesia!! They were very pushy about it. I got a 2nd & 3rd opinion which both said his teeth need no work!! read more

I wouldn't even rate this one star if it would let me. I took my little girl there a few years ago. They said she needed a cap because she had a soft tooth. (no cavities- just a soft tooth. We thought we were being good parents and went along with this. Later I found out from many of their patients that their children had "soft" teeth, also and had had caps. Coincidence?? Also, they wouldn't let the parents back with the child even though they were using anesthesia. My husband fought this and they let him stand outside the door and look through the window. My daughter was afraid of the dentist for a long time after that and told us she could feel everything. Then, she had her permanent teeth coming in behind her baby teeth. Snodgrass outlined a plan where they would pull a couple of baby teeth and file some so that there would be room for the permanent teeth. We went for a second opinion and the dentist said that the baby teeth seemed loose and took a wait and see approach. Her baby teeth came out on their own and the permanent teeth came in with plenty of space on their own. This saved us stress and money. My daughter was afraid of the dentist for years after seeing this dentist. I wouldn't go back here if they gave me free dental work. read more
