Just another money hungry business! They tried to tell me that my 5 year old son needed 8 crowns. Yes, you heard that right. EIGHT CROWNS on a 5 year old! They said 4 crowns were needed to cover cavities and the other crowns were "just in case. Because they don't want him to lose those teeth before 10 years old". Like WHAT? I know I'm not a dentist, but that didn't sound right at all. When I dared to question them about it, they gaslit me and made me feel so stupid, so I went ahead and scheduled the surgery. A few days before the surgery, I got scared and made him an appointment at a different dentist for a second opinion. Surprise, surprise, he only needed 2 crowns and 1 filling. The dentist said he was thoroughly shocked that they would even suggest putting 8 crowns on a 5 year old and that it was highly unnecessary. Definitely don't go here if you actually care about your child. read more

BEWARE! We took my 5 yr old son here and they said he needed 6 crowns and recommended he undergo general anesthesia for the procedure. We thought this was very excessive and wanted to get a 2nd opinion. After taking him to our dentist he recommended 3 fillings and 0 crowns. We showed him the treatment plan we received from this facility and they said its ridiculous and crowns are not necessary. We were referred to a different pediatric dentist and had her check out my sons teeth to get a 3rd opinion. She had confirmed what our dentist said. She said the treatment plan we were given from this facility was overkill for what he needed. Beware of this place, looks like they are just looking for a nice payday. After reading other reviews, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. read more

We showed up for my appointment time 11 mins early (11:29). They said I was 9 minutes LATE and that usually they take appointments if it's within the 10 mins of the scheduled appt but within the time I was talking to her that now it's 11:31 and they cannot see me. I said I took off work AND took 3 kids out of school for this appointment. she said all she can do is reschedule it. Super disappointed in this office. Called and asked for my files to be released and now looking into Snodgrass-King. Children's Dentistry was convenient to my house but it's not worth dealing with the rude front desk people. read more

I will never patronize Children's Dentistry and Orthodontics again or recommend them, please be aware that the orthodontist there Does Not wash his hands and gets an attitude when asked to. This is a regular practice with him and his attitude is that "you can go elsewhere" if you don't like his practices. No worries, I am going elsewhere with my money and where my child and family's health and safety will be considered. I can't believe it was too much to have to ask him to wash his hands before he touched my child after I watched him pull down his mask, wipe his nose with his hand and then proceed to come over to put on some gloves to work in my child's mouth. read more

Found them because our daughter's oral surgeon recommended the orthodontist that was there. The orthodontist was great but the office manager was awful to deal with. She was rude and terrible at returning calls. When the orthodontist left, we needed to use an orthodontist recommended by our oral surgeon, not the new one they hired from Florida. But getting our records was like pulling teeth. The office manager was once again a pain to deal with. 5 calls, 2 visits later, she still had not forwarded our records back to our oral surgeon. I would never recommend Children's to anyone. read more

We've been with Children's Dentistry and Ortho for 7-8 years now. They've made changes here and there other the years that have shifted their focus from the patients to money. They've limited the schedule to the point it's nearly impossible for a working parent to have their children seen especially with ortho needing an appointment every 6 weeks. They give you instructions on what to do for a procedure regarding insurance and covid testing then tell you "oh we have no notes of that sorry we will cancel your appointment for next week" even though you follow instructions to a T and jump through every hoop known to man to make it happen with insurance and then make work arrangements that cannot be redone for a different day. There are people with insurance willing to help me, but this office will not do their part so I can get the insurance part fast tracked and fixed. We used to love the office, but they've become too money hungry and out for their own convenience with little to no regard for their patients' needs. Sad that I have to figure out how to get out of my child's ortho contract and find another dentist when they love both sides of the office due to greed. read more

My sons teeth have had no Problems at any checkup. On my recent visit, all Of a sudden they say he needs 2 crowns and 6 fillings under general anesthesia!! They were very pushy about it. I got a 2nd & 3rd opinion which both said his teeth are perfect! Update 8/26/2912 we have had two checkups since my review and still no cavities! I am still shocked at how they would've used my 4 year old as a pawn to make money. They need Jesus. read more

I am disappointed in the service my family has received so far. My child was supposed to have dental surgery in May and the office staff kept telling us that the surgery would be soon-but it kept getting delayed. My child's teeth have gotten worse and now the surgery isn't scheduled until October. If we had been told it would take 9 or so months to get the surgery, we could have gotten him in somewhere else. Been taking my 6 year old daughter here for the last year. They do everything they can to make the experience fun for the child. When the appt is over they give the children goodie bags, a balloon animal and a sticker. My daughter had a filling done here as well. I think it was more traumatic for me waiting in the front room. She didn't remember much about the procedure minus drinking the "medicine". The people that work here are very friendly and the dentist is great. The waiting room has children movies playing, video games, books and toys. read more

My daughter had her very first dental exam here and I was nervous of how she would react. The office staff was very nice and warm and welcoming. The hygienist explained every step very well and were patient with my daughter. She loved her visit with them! She even got a goody bag with a toy and a few other things! My two daughters had the best experience with Dr. Mallette and his hygienists Maranda and Sydney. This was a first time visit for us and the girls were hesitant about seeing a new dentist. They were greeted warmly when we entered and were in awe of the beautiful facilities. The hygienist were warm and the girls were at ease as soon as they met. They loved the overhead televisions and the prizes at the end. I appreciated the efficiency and timeliness of the office. They were brought back right at their appointment time. Dr Jack was thorough and his caring nature was evident to me and the girls. They have a great appointment reminder system and ways to do all the paperwork online. They said my son needed 2 metal crowns and 2 fillings to the tune of $1700. The appointment they gave me was 3 months down the road. They tried to make him excited about by saying he was getting some pirate teeth. Took him to another dentist, used the same xrays and he only needed 2 fillings- NO crowns!. When I scheduled my 2 1/2 year old's appointment I was nervous that it was going to be a catastrophe. However, I was pleasantly suprised by the amazing staff at Children's Dentistry of Murfreesboro. They allowed me to go back and sit with her while she had her appointment - unlike other children's dentists in town - which was a big selling point to find the best fit for our family. We have now seen both Dr's and they have such an amazing "chairside" manner that explains what is going on to my daughter with also making sure I understand what is going on. I have suggested several people to change over due to my experience and they have been just as happy as my family. Thank you for providing such amazing service and restoring my faith in dentistry and creating a wonderful beginning experience for my daughter. The doctors and staff are absolutely wonderful and know how to work with toddlers/preschool age very well; always willing to answer any questions and always make my daughter feel like a rock star! By far the best pediatric dental office around! Not only is the waiting room beyond kid friendly with a TV, books and even xbox's for the kids to play on, but more importantly the entire staff is amazing. We have taken all of our children here. Follow the same procedure each time. We had a filling and had to wait 3 months to get it filled. I took off of work and showed up on time and they refused to see my child because one of the verifications wasn't met. The staff was rude and told me that different procedures required different check ins. We were emailed a verification and answered that we were going to be at the appointment. They said it wasn't there problem it was mine. They were right, I had to miss a day of work and my child still has a cavity. It is my problem but now it was cased by them. The office manager said that she didn't care if I took my business elsewhere, they had plenty of patients. After reading the reviews I see that this happens a lot there. I can't imagine that the owner knows this is happening. They wouldn't let us speak to him, hopefully one of these days he will read these reviews and open his eyes. I DON'T RECCOMEND PUTTING YOUR FAMILIES NEEDS INTO THESE PEOPLE'S HANDS. They obviously do not care. I have a narcissistic member in my family and when I spoke to the manager I felt as if I was speaking to that family member...they shared many qualities. read more
