I'm using less electricity than I was this time last year. However, our electric bill is higher. It is frustrating to do what you need to do to reduce electricity consumption, yet still have to pay through the nose. We also didn't sign up for cost reduction program. Now, I can't go on budget payment program because of being in this program we never signed up for it. We have also tried many times to sync our billing address and physical address, yet PSE system keeps changing it back to Algona address that we haven't lived at since 2013. Live in Port Orchard area and I find it interesting that PSE restored power to the wealthiest neighborhood first before the rest of us and the proper infrastructure. Thousands are out of power for over 2 days yet the wealthiest neighborhood got theirs restored in less than a day. This is unacceptable to prioritize those with wealth over the masses. Stores has had to throw out thousands of dollars in products because of no power to keep them from going bad. Private citizens are also having to do the same. Employees are not able to work because of the lack of power to do their jobs. This is bad for the economy. The solution is to prioritize infrastructure work before residential. read more

My Review of customer service I had one of the most disappointing and humiliating customer service experiences I've ever dealt with at Puget Sound Energy. Instead of taking responsibility or offering real help, the representatives backed each other up even when mistakes were clearly made. I was put on hold, then laughed at, and spoken to in a way that felt dismissive, judgmental, and completely unprofessional. There was no accountability--only apologies with no action and repeated worst-case scenarios being thrown at me. I was even told that their outdated system "shouldn't have been able to help me anyway," which says a lot about how broken the process is. Rather than trying to find a solution, it felt like they were more focused on defending themselves than helping a customer who was clearly struggling. Being told someone has worked there for ten years doesn't excuse behavior like this. Experience should show in professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving--not mocking, embarrassment, or indifference. If this is how long-term employees treat the public, that's a serious issue. PSE is supposed to be there to help people through difficult situations, not make them feel smaller for asking. This experience left me feeling disrespected, unheard, and extremely dissatisfied. Called PSE to light the pilot on my water heater. They sent a technician (Grant). While he was changing the coupling on my water heater, I told him the furnace wasn't working. And the company I called to repair it said I needed to replace it. They quoted around $7000. After Grant fixed my water heater he took a look at the furnace. He told me he could repair the furnace too. But he would have to come back with his boss. Grant came back the next day with his boss, Ken. They both checked out the furnace and went back to their shop to get parts. Came back and replaced motors and boards. Played with thermostat and told me everything was working now. Water heat, furnace & AC. Ken & Grant saved me thousands of dollars. From $7200 down to $1500. Honesty is very much appreciated from PSE technicians. Thank you very much Ken & Grant. read more

The only stable service that this company can provide is their billing system. Outage all the time without any explanation or reimbursement.

In some circumstances, PSE's rebates apply only when you use one of their approved contractors to perform the installation. Heat pumps and related equipment are one example. See https://www.pse.com/en/rebates/heating. Don't count on a contractor that you select to tell you anything about such rebates. One unapproved contractor basically told me that "we don't talk about rebates that we can't provide." He also said that it was his understanding the PSE's rebates for heat pumps required that specific thermostat settings be used and that the rebate could be clawed back if those settings were not used. I called PSE about this. They confirmed that that the rebate agreement did specify use of particular thermostat settings, but that PSE was not currently monitoring for compliance with those settings. If you're interested in PSE rebates, you need to do your own research and talk to PSE about any other requirements or policies that might affect your purchase decision, like the thermostat settings. read more

I will start by saying that I have a mixed review for PSE. The technicians that come out to work on our gas meter are great, they recently upgraded our meter (which we had to pay for of course). I don't understand why we as the consumers have to pay for a meter upgrade when it's their hardware so we don't own it or maintain it so it seems like a scam. They charge us enough for the cost of the gas that comes through it. FYI that they make a big deal when you call that they will come out and evaluate your meter and that you must have a meter that is the correct size for the amount of natural gas you need for your home. This is actually not true we found out. They fail to tell you that if they are short certain meter sizes that they will put in a meter that is too small when a home is built and then force you to pay for an "upgrade". We thought it was odd that 22 homes in a new area all had small meters that were too small for the amount of gas needed (appliances, etc.) until one of the technicians mentioned a shortage in the meter size needed when the homes were built. So FYI that even if you have a new ly built home, you should still have them check the size of your meter because they might have not had your meter size when needed and sized down. They never seem to size up fyi. We figured it out because when they came to check ours we had to go up 2 sizes which seemed odd until we discovered the shortage so they had sized us down one. It feels like it should not be allowed for them to knowingly size down your meter without telling you and the house gets occupancy certification and you wouldn't know it until you tried to run all gas appliances at once. Lastly, we had to go through the construction phase of the meter upgrade and they make you pre-pay and then they make you keep an entire day open for the upgrade since they won't narrow the window and our construction work order had the wrong meter size on it from what they had decided so we had to work that out. The construction project managers that write up the work are not detail-oriented. But the technicians were great and fixed the problem. read more

When I dug my yard, I thought there's no gas line and damaged it. Well, i didn't file the 2nd ticket within 45 days of my digging, which is against the rule. However, I thought there's no gas line and no need to file the 2nd ticket. PSE agents made up stories to push me to pay the bill. They don't take picture evidence and ignore any communication effort for $$$. I can't believe my house sits in PSE service area which is unfortunate. read more

Nothing has changed as far as I know with all the crappy customer service, goofball technicians, and other problems with PSE. They haven't blown up any neighborhoods in the last 4 years, which for them is good. I hate to be the crank who keeps harping on how lousy something is, but these guys deserve it. Their incompetence surpasses the realms of gas line safety, field techs, and CS phone operators. Their online technical work is unbelievably shabby as well. They have multiple pieces of software that don't function at even the most rudimentary level. I've set up Autopay for the monthly gas bill half a dozen times in the last 12 months or so. It never works. I log in to the website, check my account, and it shows paid in full, logging payments processed each month for the full amount and a balance of zero. Then, last week, I get a letter saying I'm 3 months past due. This is the 3rd or 4th one of these I've gotten in the last 18 months or so. I log on to the website and nothing works--buttons don't lead to new pages, they just flicker and reload the page they're on. So I try the phone. Same thing. So I try the app...same thing again. It shows me as logged in, knows my name, shows my account with a balance due of $0.00. So I call the number on the letter and spend 10 minutes fighting through the phone zone to get to where I can make a payment, and finally it takes it. Seriously...I need natural gas for a fireplace, dryer, hot water heater, furnace, and the range in the kitchen. That's it. These are all standard uses of gas. The last house (when I wrote the last review) was just as simple. The gas works when these things turn on, but everything else about PSE is busted. Worst Rebate Experience Ever - A Complete Waste of time and countless phone calls and emails! I've been dealing with Puget Sound Energy's rebate process since February, and I can honestly say this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had. Despite submitting everything that was requested, including detailed invoices with all required information (address, installation date, window measurements, u-factor ratings, total window quantity, and purchase price), my application has been put on hold with no valid explanation. After months of waiting, I provided a breakdown from Harley Exterior, which literally lists every individual window with all the necessary details. Yet, PSE claims that I didn't submit an invoice that meets their standards, even though I have followed their instructions to the letter. I've called multiple times, sent emails, and yet, each time, I get more confusion and more delays. This process has been a total waste of time and energy. I have jumped through every hoop PSE has set up, and all I want is for them to pay me the rebate they owe. But instead, I'm stuck in a loop of bureaucratic nonsense, being told to resubmit the same paperwork over and over again. It's clear that PSE is more interested in finding reasons to deny claims than actually helping customers get their rebates. I would strongly advise anyone considering PSE rebates to be prepared for a long, stressful ordeal with little to no support from their team. My husband and I read great reviews on a false website. We ended up using pse as our electric energy. Everything was great until it came time to cancel. I had called them because we were moving away to another state. We no longer needed their service. they continued to charge us for our apartment we no longer lived in for months after! I talked with both the apartment complex manager who has in writing that he spoke to them and they said," they took care of it." I called pse only to get lied to in my face by lady over the phone that my apartment complex manager didn't even call. Lawyer up with this company if you're having trouble getting the cancellation. Record calls and get everything in writing. Write down every month your charged for no living at said location. They only listen when legal comes into play. I ended up paying 300+ dollars for a residence i no longer lived at. Still 300+ could of gone somewhere else like towards my legal fees! What nightmare company. Definitely do you research beforehand. PSE "Other Natural Gas Charges & Credits" crap! I received my bill for last month with a line item of "Other Natural Gas Charges and Credits" totaling $68.52 bringing my bill up to $214.74. The house has been empty for the last month! When I called and spoke to Roman in customer service, he had no idea what the charge was for and was reading information it sounded like he logged on to Google really quick to find. I've had issues with PSE in the past where they find out suddenly, they've under charged me for a period of time and I'll get a $600 bill! To get a $214.74 bill for an empty house is one thing, but then to call and be told they don't know! He also said if I had that much of a problem with it, he could direct me to the state agency I needed to call to discuss the extra charge, REALLY!? They need to train their customer service people, and they need to get their act together with their billing! I would have given half a star if I had the option! read more
