Charles stood among the best of the staff and was one of the most genuine, courteous and generous in terms of his time and resources. Very disappointed in our stay at Trailborn (formerly Snow King Resort) this weekend. You can expect a budget motel level of customer service at this "luxury resort & spa". While the property is beautiful, the lack of care for their guests most basic needs is abysmal and absolutely embarrassing for a Marriott property. The check-in process took entirely too long and the staff was unfriendly from the moment we walked in, this should have been our first clue as to how this stay was to go. When we arrived to our room the room was very clean, except for a large stain on the carpet, which we found strange considering they had just done a remodel. Upon going for a shower, we discovered the shower curtain had been installed wrong as the vinyl cover was on the outside. When grabbing a towel from the shelf below the sink, the shelf fell down knocking the towels to the floor. This is also when we discovered there was not a hair dryer in the room. We tried to call down to the front desk - The phone didn't work. So with a wet head, we headed down to the front desk to ask for a hairdryer. We were informed that house keeping would bring one up to the room. An hour goes by and nothing. We go back down to the front desk as we had an event to attend on a time crunch and again, a simple request was met with attitude and we were told that "the head of house keeping would get one to us soon". Well. Soon was never. Thankfully, a friend was staying at the hotel and we ended up borrowing theirs. As of our checkout time, no hairdryer was ever brought up to us. Every interaction with the front desk staff, especially Cameron, was met with attitude. They would constantly stare at their computers and offered no explanation or help for our most basic needs as guests. We were also told there was "not a manager on duty" several times when trying to resolve these issues. Having traveled around the country for work on a weekly basis, I have had better customer service from budget chain hotels. The final and most perfect straw was the fact that they advertised a free airport shuttle online to their guests. The evening before our flight we confirmed our pickup time at 4PM, and at 11PM we received a text from the front desk stating that they "didn't have a driver". No apology. Nothing offered to help us. When we went down to speak with the staff, they told us "well I guess you could take a bus or something". There's that Trailborn hospitality. The only people who treated us with any kindness was the morning breakfast buffet staff, bartender at Old Timer, and the house keepers. TDLR; take your business elsewhere. Disclaimer: we stayed here in August. Friendly, clean and convenient. I'd say this is a solid 4.25 stars. The only reason why I didn't rate this a 5 star is because the bathroom tub floor was cracking. The customer service was exceptional. Rooms were clean and adequate for a 3 night stay. We skipped out on the breakfast because of the price, $22+ per person. Be aware of the resort fee, it's $37 a night + taxes. Also included is a development tax...whatever that is. Another bogus tax. Remember you get free drip coffee with your resort fee so take advantage of that! The coffee isn't available until 6:30am. As far as walkability to restaurants and what not, it's about a 15 minutes walk if not less if you're active. Overall solid stay, would book again. read more

We spent three days in this hotel. When booking the hotel, I was told that I would get a view of the Tetons. What we ended up with was a first floor room that looked into a very high hill in the back with a loading dock to the left. When I mentioned this, the front desk was looking for another room, but said I would not be able to check in until later and she could not guarantee that we would have the view that booking.com said we would have. My husband was already in the room and it was just too inconvenient to reload our luggage and wait. The room was average clean for the level of hotel we were staying in. The tub had chipped paint on the bottom that needed repair. The three nights that we stayed no one ever came into our room to change the towels or pick up the trash. I had to take our trash down to a bigger trashcan to dump it. The hotel is nice in itself. The pool and hot tub area are nice. There are activities attached to the hotel for people with kids. There is a service in the hotel, which will help you book activities around the area. It is very convenient to be able to walk into town. It also has a restaurant upstairs that overlooks the ski Mountain and a pro shop downstairs. There are many very nice areas to sit in the hotel to get out of your room. It is a nice hotel, but they could be so much better with just a few minor adjustments. read more

Avoid this hotel! My family was in Jackson for my wedding, and the entire group stayed at the Snow King condominiums for the duration of the stay. We had stayed here before and enjoyed our first trip, which is why we recommended this place for our entire party. This place is totally different than our first stay, is now understaffed and mismanaged, which lead to a less than stellar stay. We've tried to resolve this through calling and email, but they've ghosted us, so we feel the need to let potential customers know what they're getting into. Here is the series of events we dealt with while staying at Snow King Condos: Day 1:  Tried to check in at 4:00pm.  We were told rooms weren't ready, no clear indication of when they would be.  We waited around the lobby until 5:30, when 2 of the rooms were ready.   The person who checked us in indicated the wrong building on the map, so we had to drive around the entire condo complex to figure out the numbering system to then find our room.  We asked about ice machines and were told there's one in each building, which there isn't.  At 6:00pm we were told the other 2 rooms were ready.  We went there and the cleaners were still working on the rooms, asked us for another 30 minutes. They were very apologetic and were trying very hard, which we appreciated.  But we had an event to get to and needed to get cleaned up and change.   Throughout this whole check-in fiasco, there was no real hospitality from the front desk, no genuine apologies.  The confirmation email for the rooms indicated there would be a complimentary cocktail at Hayden's Post upon check-in.  When I inquired about it (while we were waiting well past check in for the rooms) I was told they weren't on the account and refused to give any vouchers.  The following day Michael provided 4 beer/wine vouchers to resolve this, which was appreciated.   Day 2  We spoke to Michelle about all that transpired at check in.  She was apologetic and agreed to add a $100 credit to each of the 4 rooms, and to arrange for a cleaning of one of the rooms on day 3.  Day 3  By 4:30p the cleaning still hadn't happened (we had asked it to be done by 5:00pm when additional family members were arriving).   Another call at 5:40p and we were told someone would be there.  At 6:20p no cleaning had happened, so we went to the front desk and talked to Melanie.  She was apologetic and said cleaning had left for the day, they were calling someone in.  We had a dinner to get to, so we got sheets and towels from Melanie and went over and changed sheets and towels ourselves.  Cleaners arrived around 7:00p and took care of a couple things.  Another fiasco. Day 4:  We spoke with Melanie about what happened the day before, and she said she would remove the resort fees from our rooms as a consideration, which we appreciated.  Two of the rooms had painters show up unannounced at 8:00am with music blasting.  We should have had a heads up about the fact that painting was happening before men showed up at our windows and on our patios while we are trying to sleep or enjoy our patio.  Day 5:  3 of the 4 rooms checked out today (my room was booked until Monday).  Melanie was alone at the front desk, which is crazy on a Sunday at check-out time.   At that point, we discovered the resort fees hadn't been removed from the rooms.  She was unable to fix it at that moment as it required being away from the front desk and she couldn't leave.  She committed that the resort fees would be fixed and we also asked that one of the $100 credits be moved to another room to help take care of a $280 bill we had at Hayden's.   She was to take care of it all and call us later on Sunday. We never received a call. Day 6: We checked out and spoke to Melanie to confirm the issues had been resolved as promised.  Upon reviewing the folios, the resort fees hadn't been removed and various other problems were found.  Melanie said there was nothing she could do.   We have called and emailed with no response. We've been told that Melanie no longer works there, and haven't been given any assistance since. We would like the resort fees on all 4 rooms to be refunded as promised. My family stayed here off of my recommendation, and I'm so embarrassed that we had to deal with this. read more

Under NO circumstances whatsoever would I recommend staying at Snow King condos. Our experience at Snow King was stressful and far from the luxury vacation advertised. We rented through Leave Home (never again) and the two will just go back and forth and decide that it's fine to treat guests like garbage. You will still pay full price despite terrible service, and they will make no effort to make it right (other than in insincere apology on google reviews, apparently) despite acknowledging that some of us will have worse experiences because of their staffing and communication issues. Apparently they think it is appropriate for the resort to use your personal information - phone number, name, where you are staying and allow someone to call and ask if they can show the place to potential buyers while you are there. They will pressure you while saying you have the right to say no. I also have the right to be left alone and know that my privacy will be respected. What was supposed to be luxurious and relaxing was instead cabinets full of dirty dishes, trash from previous guests, no linens for the fold out couch, no blankets, a broken coffee maker, poorly stocked kitchen, and call after call trying to fix things for my guests inatead of spending quality time with them. They finally threw a trashbag of linens in the front door after entering unannounced. (though they clearly have my number and no issues calling it otherwise). After several guests woke up chilly overnight and dug through closets unable to find any blankets, we had plans for a nice breakfast at the condo with some warm coffee. After hand washing the previous guests' dirty plates, we still ended up needing to go into town for coffee because over 2.5 hours later they had not brought a new machine or even k cups for the Keurig that did work. At a minimum they could have paid back the $50 to buy coffee in Jackson. Snow King will make no effort to make it right financially or even give an apology. Snow King will lie to you (and your third party renter if you used one) and say they responded immediately. Based on my experience, I'm expecting a response to this stating everything was rectified immediatelly. They lie, 8 of us are aware of the actual response times and the actual handling of it. Great spot to stay there close to the resort and also downtown area. There's a dog park nearby as well. Parking for our spot was a little hard, but we figured it out. Getting to the actual room wasn't horrible to find but took us a walk around to figure out exactly where it was. We would have enjoyed fresh air at night but there are no screens on the patio doors. The third nite we came back from dinner and there was an odor of sewage in our bathroom. The front desk staff seemed young and unprofessional. One gal had long black hair that was bright pink for the last 8" of hair. I had a great experience at this resort. Our Powder Alliance pass got us free days here. Stayed right in the hotel. Room was very nice, clean, had a view of the mountains, a little balcony, storage for our snowboards. Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice and hot. The lobby felt like a real lodge with soaring ceilings, log beams, and rustic furniture with views of the mountains. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There was a snowmobile competition there that weekend, so it was really busy. My only wish was that there were fewer children in the hot tub when I went. Un-permitted access and cash stealing. Run away from this hotel if you can! We stayed here 2 nights in 2 rooms for $2500+. During our stay, someone entered our room that has a minor kid without our permission and took our cash. After the fact, we were unable to sleep tight during the night cause we believe we are insecure. We had to leave the second day. This place is a nightmare to stay. Providing a secured space is the bottom line of a hotel industry, let alone service and manners, and they failed it hard. The rooms were not cleaned, the AC remote were broken while the electronics were not plugged in (there no power plugs on the wall in the first place). Tripped to the front desk multiple times and tried to contact the manager. We talked to Damon, Robert, and the manager Matt, but had a hard time communicating. The manager also left in the middle of our conversation impolitely. The manner the manager treated us and looked at us made us feel really uncomfortable. If you want to stay here feeling insecure and keep collecting evidence to protect your rights, this is the place! read more

If I'm gonna spend hundreds of dollars a night on "resort" accommodations I would expect a much better experience. (Condos) First, the window blinds in the master would not come down. You had to stand on a chair and physically pull the shades down. Second, there was trash in the floor from previous guests. The mini fridge was completely frozen over and not useable. If you want ice, you have to grab a plastic bag or bucket and walk to the main hotel and schlep the ice back. Also, the chairs on the balcony were old desk chairs that are ridiculously uncomfortable. How about some Adirondack chairs and a table? Or patio furniture? The internet was as fast as a dial up connection from 1995. Do yourself a favor and find a cheap place downtown much closer to all the restaurants and activities. I would NOT recommend staying here. read more

We came to Snow King for our honeymoon back at the beginning of October, and while honestly this is a place for skiing rather than just a getaway, I'll critique this place based on what it is. I'll say up front, skiing- yes; for a place to crash after exploring Jackson and Teton National Park, no. It does have a high price point, and in order to get your moneys worth one need to hang around the area. Our room was really nice, with a fireplace that was both romantic and did a great job of keeping the unit warm. We even dropped down the Murphy bed in the living room instead of sleeping in the master bedroom so we could sleep next to a fire place all night! The bathrooms are first rate, with deep, huge tubs that will fit two ;) The patio views are breath taking, and if you're lucky you'll be able to see the spread between the Tetons and the valley below. It's not uncommon to spot deer out and about on the property! The staff was very courteous and the lodge restaurant has a terrific menu! Perhaps I'm biased, but this place will always hold special memories for Kat and I. read more

I was really excited to score such a great deal for a ski in ski out. Well, now I know why...if you are looking for adequate, or just okay, this is the place. Your are charged a little over $100 for the shuttle service. Where the website says "based upon space and availability", there should be a disclaimer. There is a schedule every hour to the airport and vice versa. However, it books up really fast because a max of about 14 people can ride in the small van. They simply don't have the capacity to support all of the skiers that fly in every day. The shuttle to Teton village is a total of 4 times a day. Two times in the morning and the shuttle leaves Teton two times in the afternoon. If you are not able to make any of the shuttles, you will need to pay for your own transportation. All shuttles were booked and we never got to utilize the Teton shuttle because skiers needed the space. I will respect that and not take a seat that a skier could use. The pool was closed for the entire time. We asked the front desk every day and their answer varied from, "we don't know, it should be open soon" to "oh I think they are doing maintenance". Never once was there anyone working on it the entire time. Don't worry about gratuity. Even the breakfast buffet charges 20% and you serve yourself. The first day the wait staff didn't bring waters. I walked over to get my bill and pay right there. A bit of a scam to pay 20% for...what? Room service doesn't come. That is not the issue. I didn't use the do not disturb lanyard because they don't come around. Check out is at 11:00 AM. So while my husband and I were getting dressed and showering the cleaning service came into the room, it was 9:55AM. When asked how my stay was the automatic reply was basically "Sorry you feel this way, thanks for responding," in other words it was a very noncommittal response. The best part of this hotel, leaving it. We would leave and ski so that was really nice. I suppose in Jackson, WY they are used to people not caring how they spend their money. I was thinking a 2 but paying for services I never used, not being able to use the pool, the extra fees added onto the bill that were never advertised from the website. Don't let the word Resort in the name fool you. We were so disappointed with our stay at this overpriced motel. The lady at the check in desk was very unhelpful. She told us that there was not a door to the parking lot near our room and that we needed to use the lobby....they door ended up being about 20 feet away from our room...she also told us the laundry room was on the wrong floor. The rooms need a deep clean-the carpet had stains and there were speckles of who know what on the lamps. Noooo water pressure and the tun took a long time to drain. The food wasn't great either. Very bland and took a long time....the water is foggy looking when it comes out of the faucet. Save your money and book somewhere else. I will never stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Edit: I spoke with the manager and upgraded my rating. They took good care of us. We decided to leave a day early and they waived the costs of our second night because we decided to leave early. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THE SNOW KING!!!!!!!!! Where do I start. First it took over 45 minutes to check in with only 2 people in line in front of me. There was only one person working the desk, even though there were others talking and socializing behind the desk. The ground level has multile levels so you have to drag your luggage up little ramps beside the 2-3 steps to the next level. When we finally made it to the elevator, only one working, it was tiny. All of our luggage would not even fit. After arriving at our room door our key would not work so I had to return to the desk, leaving my family standing in the hallway with the luggage, only to find out that they had written the wrong room number on the keycard. Instead of an apology I was greeted by a rude person who accused me of parking our car in the wrong place, it was not even our car, but no apology for that either. When we finally got in our room it was smelly and dirty. The bathroom was small with no counter space. There were only sheets on the bed, no blanket or comforter. I called the front desk and text the number given for housekeeping but in the 5 days we stayed a blanket never appeared. I could name numerous other faults with the room, the lack of service, the attitude of the staff and the overpriced restaraunt. When I went to the desk to check out the only response was "OK", not given any type of reciept, billing, or anything. So it was a nice little suprise when we got home and had an additional $171 charge for "resort" fees. When I called I was told that it was a fee for booking through a third party. read more

During a time where cleanliness and sanitation are so important, our room was not clean when we checked in. The floor clearly hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time and there were very visible spots that clearly were not cleaned. Additionally, the bar of soap appears to have been chewed on... it was sealed in the package this way. Beyond disappointed and disgusted is an understatement. We chose the snow king resort for my friend's bachelorette and from the second we arrived to the day we left this place was nothing but rude and condescending towards us. The manager Matthew Cooper wanted to set up meetings to talk to us while we were on vacation as he had a "list" of things to go over with us. He threatened to kick 13 girls out and leave them with no place to sleep during a snow storm for no reason at all. Manager even went to the extent of canceling the bride and 12 other girls spa day that was booked months prior due to an "inconvenience". Later to find out that speaking to the spa concierge that there was no inconvenience and that Matthew cancelled all the appointments and stated to the concierge "not to allow us". The whole trip we felt attacked as no matter what we did they found a way to ruin it. We ran into another bachelorette party there and the girls experienced the same thing. One of them even got a door slammed in her face! Lastly, the mother of the bride arrived and in her hotel room there was a towel with human feces and manager Matthew stated that it was her doing. I went to Snow King Spa to schedule a Spa day with Paul whom is always super pleasant and quite professional.And I had a 5 min discussion with Oaul ( the host of the spa privately when this lady named Ann whom told me she doesn't even work there but barges in on my private conversation with The host of the spa and started repremand me and began questioning me with an angry look on her face ! We were in a private room and there was zero other guests in the Spa ! I then received an important business call and she began to tell me to take my call out of the lobby ! This lady had no idea whom she's being tune to and has no idea that I'm there scheduling a spa day and was extremely pushy extremely rude and not welcoming! Questioning my intentions of why I'm even there and made me feel in welcomed and disrespectful to me on every level! This lady ( Ann ) doesn't know how to treat people ! Or even how to speak to people ! She shouldn't be around guests because of this and especially when I arrived she made it clear to me she doesn't even work there when I asked for her help because Paul the main host was not even there and told me just to wait till he gets back from where ever he had to go briefly.and then started to insert her authority as if she's the GM and running the place ! If she was the GM manager then she should have helped me from the beginning rather then tell me she didn't work there and tell me to wait for Osul when I specifically asked if she works there and if she can help me And after all she starts throwing her wait around spying on my conversations in a separate empty room trying basically to ask me to leave. Unbelievably rude and an unprofessional approach ! The staff is incompetent and disorganized. There is absolutely no customer service. I do not recommend staying in this hotel. I am so embarrassed for the managers and directors. There wasn't staff at the front when I arrived. I unloaded my car by myself and had to retrieve a cart alone. No one asked if I needed help to my room. I had my own vehicle and there was no instruction on parking or the need for a parking pass. The restaurant and bar were absolutely the most incompetent personnel I have ever witnessed. It was unbelievable how long it took to get food and drink and then, they took food away from the table before we were finished. I paid for meals that I was unable to eat because no one asked if I was finished. The rooms were left unattended and the waste baskets uncared for. To top it off, I scheduled a time to the airport, they called at 8:42PM to tell me that they would rather me leave 30 minutes later. I would have missed my flight and had to find other transportation. Please do not stay at this location! It's really unbelievable because the event center next door is amazing. What brings a girl from Hawai'i out to Wyoming in mid-October, you say? Work. Snow King Resort was the designated hotel for a 5-day conference. Unfortunately, the resort shuts down all of their outdoor activities on October 1st. So if you want to seek any type of adventure, you either take a 10-minute walk into town or a 2-hour drive to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The resort is known for its ski area and summertime activity center. So in October, its pretty quiet and therefore, the lodging rates were very attractive for the conference attendees. BTW, the Concierge was a rockstar and our day trip to Yellowstone was awesome! Hungry? There's only one restaurant on the premises: Hayden's Post. But, the menu options are actually very good and fairly priced. The dining area is spacious and offers a full bar and a cozy fireplace. We found ourselves here about three times during our stay. Very convenient. I requested a king bedroom at the time of booking, but ended up with a 2-queens room instead. When I arrived at 10pm, my choices were either a condo outside or a queen bedroom on site. I didn't want to walk outside in the dark, so I opted for the queen bedroom. The room was very clean, the decor looked fairly new, and the bathroom was a perfect size for one person. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion were complimentary. A small fridge, coffee maker, writing desk, lounge chair, and flat screen tv were also in the room. The only downside was the air conditioning/heater. It was loud, and either too hot or too cold. So, I really never got a good nights rest. The resort offers complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport. You must book this in advance, which I did. But unfortunately, there was a miscommunication. The front desk thought my pick up time was 9:15AM, not 9:15PM. So, yeah....I was the last one standing at the airport when I arrived. Props to the security guard there who made a few calls for me. He had Uber on standby until the hotel sent the shuttle back out for me. The guys at the front desk were unapologetic, but the driver seemed like he cared enough to ensure we had a good conversation throughout our 20-minute drive. Shout out to one of the other drivers (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) on our last day. We wanted to go into town for lunch and some shopping, and en route, he found out we hadn't seen a moose yet. Well, guess what?! He said two mooses were hanging out near the front of his house just before he left for work, so he kindly drove us out there to see. We were able to see the calf. Young, but still very tall! It was exciting to see!! Overall, 3.5 stars. Front desk service could improve. Air in the room could improve. October is just not the time to visit for pleasure. But I guess that's good for business trips, no distractions or skipping out on meetings. Lol! read more

We stayed here for a week while we were visiting Grand Teton National Park. Even though the resort is at the far end of town, it wasnt too bad since Jackson Hole is a relatively small town to begin with. The hotel room was spacious and clean. Even though there is no house keeping, it wasnt a problem. We asked for a change of towels, additional coffee pods etc at the front desk. A comfortable stay overall! read more

It's fine for a budget place to stay. But -- 1) Severely understaffed. We asked THREE times to have towels and trash bags sent to our room because there is no daily housekeeping. We finally gave up and asked a house keeper passing by. 2) Rude and unhelpful front desk staff. Explained twice how I was not charged correctly and they could not help. 3) Service at the on-site restaurant extremely slow. 1 hour to get a salad. 4) Grilled us about pool wristbands but couldn't get extra toilet paper. Asked three times and had to eventually just take it from the lobby bathroom. What was my $37 resort fee for? No waters, no in-room coffee, no toilet paper, and no house keeping. Like pulling teeth asking for towels and trash bags so I can keep my own room clean during a 4 day stay. read more

Check-in and check-out were a HOT MESS. The girl who checked me in tried to put my cc into the machine while I was actively reading the rate sheet that I had not signed yet! She literally walked around the desk with my cc in her hand and tried to put it in the machine before I realized what she was doing and told her to stop. Who are you to charge my card without asking?? She acted all shocked when I told her to stop, also! Then she told me that I had to park my car on the fourth floor?! When I asked if there was a parking garage (since she told me to park on the 4th floor and I didn't see one), she said "no" and that she "isn't explaining it well because I am new here." That was NOT the problem. She took so long trying to check me in that my husband had the entire car unloaded onto a luggage cart (for a 9-day trip with a 5-year old) and THEN she tells me that we have to drive around the building and that you can't get to the elevator from the front door. WHAT?? The pool was a nice feature and we enjoyed the s'mores. The room was comfortable and clean. Bummer that there is no breakfast provided for over $400 a night - egregious cost! The front desk agent at checkout was alone and I stood in line for a good 20 minutes trying to check out. There were only 3 guests in front of me. He was flustered and blaming the computer.
