I tried to explain that I was not aware of any extra charge for car charging nor was it in any of the park rules that I received. He didn't care even when I explained that my car gave me an error code that my starting battery had a power drain and possibly would not start, and I would unplug at that time. My family and friends have been camping at this park for almost 10 years but there has been a change in management " the captain retired, we steamed last fall with him what a great guy, he will be missed" I definitely don't like the new nickel & dime extra charges and probably will be looking for a different campground.

Bryan was unapologetic and downright rude about enforcing their rigid policy: within 14 days, you get nothing back. Outside that window? Still a $25 "admin fee" for a tent site. There are plenty of other gay campgrounds that are friendlier, more flexible, and actually care about their guests. Maybe that's why it was so easy to snag a last-minute reservation here. Pretty grounds can't cover up an ugly attitude.

The small lake was a hit with campers looking to cool off. Each site has electricity and a fire pit, but make sure you bring a grill to cook on or a pit grill to place on top of the fire pit. There's a large children's playground and horseshoes pits for the adults. Firewood is really cheap at $3/bundle and they even delivered it to your camp site. There are 4 restrooms on site, but no showers or running water. It's camping and not the Ritz-Carlton so make sure you know what you're getting into. Pete and Pat live on site and made sure to check on everyone at least once a day which was really nice. They even picked up our trash every morning. Make sure to bring cash as they don't take credit.

It was a decent sized lot and I didn't mind the location but I was extremely thankful that it did not rain. It would have been nice if when booking you could see the actual site. That being said, we had a nice time. The pool is very nice. My grandson enjoyed the bounce pad. It was a nice safe place where I never worried with him being out and about. I'd probably camp here again but definitely pick a different site.

I loved our back-in spot that was on the pond. My golden retriever wasted no time in jumping into the big pond and started swimming. She loved it! Since we were at one of the pond spots, the pool, playground, and bathroom were very close by. The playground can use some updating, but that's not a big deal. The pool and deck area were clean. The kids were having fun and that's fine by me also. The bath house was recently updated. It was very clean and updated. Shower area was clean also, I was never worried about seeing random bugs or giant gross puddles. It's very well kept. The dogs and I took a few walks while we were there. If you go past the baseball fields, you get to the back section of the campground, more suited for tent camping. Those sites were very well-covered by the trees. That walk was very pleasant. The campground was super close to MSU campus, so that was a plus also. One minute you're on campus, the next minute you're in the country. We went around mid June and that Cottonwood was no joke. The campground certainly lived up to its name. It was basically a Cottonwood blizzard. Thank goodness I'm not allergic, but that may be a consideration for some. Like someone else said on their review, the fire pit wasn't a fire pit, it was a basically a huge divot in the ground that you can easily trip on because it's so shallow. We didn't use it because we didn't have time, but it's technically not false advertising because they didn't say "fire ring" as the amenity. Overall, we had a great experience and looking forward to coming back if we're ever back in the Lansing area.
