Snowdaes is located in the same newly constructed plaza as Kumon and Bonchon (BLECH! Don't go to this satellite location!! If you HAVE TO HAVE Bon Chon, go to Allston!!). So there's plenty of free parking with actual spots that you don't have to fight people for (which seems to be a problem in this city). H and I stopped in with my best friend, A, after she prodded and intrigued us with the "best cold dessert" in Lowell. Well, with that kind of invite, how can someone say no? It wasn't a far drive from the Highlands- even in traffic, it took us less than 15 minutes to get there. It's actually a very nice inside... much nicer than I anticipated. The interior was well-kept, clean and nicely decorated. The toppings were well stocked and looked fresh (well, as fresh as fruit can be for New England weather, and as fresh as packaged mochi, cereal, etc can be ;) )! An added bonus was that the girls behind the counter were extremely patient and willing to explain the gist of ordering. A knew exactly what she wanted- a "pandan" of sorts... I was nervous and just ordered the same variation as her's... but of the chocolate variety. H ordered shaved ice. I have to say that each of our treats were highly satisfying and indulgent. I noticed there were milkshakes, bubble teas and other things we could order... I'll have to try something different next time! read more

I'll have to admit, their actual boba pearls aren't the best, but everything else is amazing. They have a diverse menu for anyone with a sweet craving. The most creative specialty drinks I've ever had, and the pricing is reasonable for their portions. I recommend the Shorty Special and egg puffs (both original and pandan!) for desserts. They have the best milk tea in Lowell. Inside is pretty decent. The menu is pretty big. Lots of drinks and desserts. Lots of flavor for the shaved ice cream and it is really good with lots of topping to choose from. I come here more then I should lol. They also have board games to play with while waiting or dining in. Only con is that it gets really pack and there is a big wait time when that happens. Which is most times. Any time we're in Lowell, we stop by here for boba and egg puffs! We've been coming here since they opened a couple years ago and they've only gotten better with time. I wanted boba tea on a very hot Boston day to quench my thirst and thanks to Yelp, I found this place. I bought a boba tea and a bag of 20 or so puffy balls to go. I had the lychee black tea with boba and it was good - similar or on par with other places like Chatime. It was sweet and the boba was chewy so I had no complaints. The puffy balls are like waffles in ball shape and they were enticing as they smelled so good. They were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered their egg puff with strawberries and whipped cream and Thai ice tea shaved ice. I found the egg puff to be bland and tough to eat, so I didn't enjoy that in particular. The shaved ice was really good though - I was able to taste the Thai ice tea flavor very well and the portion was huge. The shop itself is spacious with comfortable seating. I ordered the milk tea with boba, and I wasn't completely blown away by it. In fact, it was so underwhelming that I completely forgot to write a review about it until a few weeks later. I was craving boba (as I always am) and my sister's boyfriend decided to take me here and I was pretty excited due to all the reviews. It was pretty busy for a Monday night when we went, and the lines were long and the place was relatively packed. Always a good sign! I ordered my standard (black milk tea) and although the tea was good, it just tasted generic. There wasn't anything that made me go OH MY GOD, I HAVE TO COME BACK. Drove 30 minutes to check this place out. I may make another trip here again this Spring. We had Mangonadas that were pretty good! Not many places to get them from in Mass. I also tried the Shaved Ice: coconut flavor, coconut flakes drizzled with sweetened condensed milk. Get extra drizzle is my suggestion and order a small. The medium was too much for me. I haven't tried a lot of the drinks but the Vietnamese coffee and the Thai Tea are usually my go-tos. Their egg puff waffles are amazing! They're fluffy, crisp and are always hot and fresh. I've tried the shorty special and this other one that I can't remember the name of right now... it has a base of pandan eggpuffs, it's topped with mochi, ice cream and drizzled with condensed milk. Their milk teas are kind of disappointing though, a lot of them taste flavorless or taste too artificial. The other blended frozen drinks are much better. AND they do have mangonadas which are amazing! (I've only ever had it in California so I was happy when they added it to their menu). I originally planned on giving only 3 stars, but the menu items that I mentioned are enough. Hmm if anything it's a 3.5! ALSO while it may seem a little expensive, it's about the same cost as going to Boston, getting bubble tea and coming back. Of course there are better places in Boston, but I say that it's nice to have a place here in Lowell to go to. read more

Been here as a teen to an adult now, great place for a sweet tooth and I can always recommend the thai tea there. It does get a bit messy at night and the tables get sticky but the employees are always on top of things and have an ear for you. Place does get packed at peak times but I overall love this place. workers are incompetent. i got a very simple order; small, cake batter shaved snow with nutella drizzle. when it came out the first time, it was some concoction of cotton candy and marshmallows, so we sent it back because it was so far from what i wanted, they insisted i got the wrong order, makes sense, they ask what i wanted and proceed to remake it. when it comes out the second time, it was the "birthday cake" special. so it had all of these extra toppings i did not like or need. 0 for 2 and i am incredibly disappointed. funny that my boyfriends order came out completely correct in one try... not impressed and no manager present to speak to. read more
