Their prices are good, but just remember to bring cash as they are cash only. There is an ATM right next to the windows you can use (ATM fees may apply). Beyond, but still including ice cream, Sully's has a deal I believe it's $10-$12 for two hot dogs, a bag of chips, and a drink (which can be an ice cream shake)- great bang for your buck and the hot dogs are amazing considering this is an ice cream stand. Very unexpected, but welcomed and appreciated. The staff here are always swift, helpful, and knowledgeable of the menu and establishment. There is ample parking and I have never had an issue finding a spot. There are several benches next to the structure you can sit and enjoy your ice cream or food at. It is very much a location for the family and is pretty calming to visit whenever I get to. My best friend introduced me to this spot when we were in high school over a decade ago and I still frequent it to this day when I visit him down the street. When I'm in this town, I have to visit this place. They have lots of flavors for ice cream, milkshakes, frappes and sherbets, for example. The prices are reasonable and they give you good portions. They even serve some foods like a hot dog or grilled cheese. The drive up is very nice country. Benches to sit. There's parking and it's not very big, but they do have extra parking behind. They usually have napkins but we went late in a very hot day and I guess they ran out of napkins. You must try it here. You will be glad you did. read more

The ice cream stand is iconic of summer in Chelmsford and I am glad this place existed when I was young. Plenty of school trips, visits after sports games, or special occasions are spent here. That was the thing to do in the spring/summer in Chelmsford-get ice cream with your friends or family following a game. There are always special flavors featured that enhance the already quite exhaustive ice cream list. Sherbet, sorbet, hard frozen yogurt, and sugar free ice cream are on the menu as well. Being as I'm more of a fro yo gal, I think the frozen yogurt is divine, and, in particular love the coffee heathbar. When I'm in an indulgent mood I ask for a coffee heath (frozen yogurt) frappe made with skim milk. Frappes can be customized and made without syrup and also malted or made thick. The pistachio frozen yogurt is also solid. My family likes getting strawberry sundaes made with it. The hot fudge is thick and rich. Yum. Service over the years has always been good and pretty efficient which I appreciate. Sully's used to make their own waffle cones but do not any longer. I imagine it was difficult to keep up with demand. The stand is seasonal, as it's literally a stand and not protected by the elements. In the winter they sell Christmas trees and winter greenery on the premises. Sully's is "cash only" and there is picnic seating to the left of the stand where you can sit and enjoy your icy confection and enjoy your surroundings. I can't speak for the cleanliness of the area outside as these days I take my ice cream to-go, but on my most recent visit I saw the picnic area filled with patrons. Enjoy! read more

But we were unimpressed with the taste. The coconut chip tasted a bit artificial and chemical. The chips had absolutely no flavor at all. And there were no shreds of coconut in the ice cream. The black raspberry as well - tasted bland and synthetic. The chocolate chip cookie dough was a weird yellow color. As others have mentioned- the small picnic area is full of poison ivy. You can usually tell which ones are bought from Richardsons by the names...anything with a funky name (think Moose Tracks, Maine Black Bear, etc... as opposed to maple walnut or chocolate fudge brownie) typically comes from Richardsons. The yogurt is bought from Richardsons....9/10 ice cream stands do this. (purple cow, mint patty, coffee heath bar....the yogurts you see all over New England ice cream stands...yup, Richardsons.) I grew up in Chelmsford, and ever since I was twelve, I've been eating Sully's ice cream. I'm forever ruined. They have the best ice cream I've ever had. Everywhere else pales in comparison. This is the only ice cream place I know of where people are standing in line in the dead of December. The flavors are delicious. My favorite flavor is the Swiss Chocolate Almond, but I've tried a bunch, and they're all great. The portions are ginormous, so be prepared to bring your bib and wet naps. I love Sully's! The ice cream is amazing and there are so many flavors to choose from. Every flavor I've ever had was great and the sundaes are well made. The sizes are huge and the prices are reasonable. They also have one of the best real home made waffle cones around. I only have 2 issues with them which are that they plug the bottom with a marshmallow and if its hot you will always get an ice cream dribble coming out the bottom at some point and that they run out of them when its really busy. So make sure to wrap the bottom of the cone with a napkin. Went here and parked my car on the side was sitting next to it and my family was standing on the grass on what looked like to be sullys property but apparently not. Ice cream was fantastic but the neighbor next door was not. He yelled at my family for standing on "his property" when there was 1. No fence and 2. No signal of any property line. If he wanted respect from my family and I he should have talked to us like adults and not like children yelling at us. Will not come back because of this. This is a hidden gem in the Boston suburbs. We ventured here for a late night sweet craving and for a while, driving through pitch-dark streets, I was beginning to doubt this ice cream stand truly existed. Well, it surely does and it is worth the hunt!
