The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Definitely a little hidden gem that gives northern UP vibes

Food was awful, service was even worse. Dark, dingy and unwelcoming feel. Will not be returning.

Throw in some homemade french fries and there's no way I could eat that much (the dogs are in for a treat).

Tucked…read moreamong the coast of Cedarville, in Michigan's beautiful upper peninsula (UP), it lies across from the famous Les Cheneaux islands. While there is covered outdoor seating, the interior, which is mainly a massive wrap around bar, is where you get all the color of the area. It seems like this little place, in a little town, in the UP, would just have the basics, but you'd be so wrong. Great Michigan microbrews on tap, like Black Rock's and Petoskey Brewing, amazingly fresh fish menu options, with my fav homemade tartar sauce on the planet (everything made in-house they tell me), and the friendliest staff, this place is a huge winner in my book. Burgers if you want, poutine, and other items, if fish isn't your thing. The fries are not crispy, though the fried fish dishes are, just fyi. Two big screen TVs if you want to watch a game. Rock from the 70s and 80s in the background (not so loud you can't talk, thank you). Food arrives on real plates with real, non-plastic flatware. Even have free WiFi, which is essential up here. Finally, the view of the marina, lake, and islands is something special. So worth the trip over the bridge. One of our favorite UP destinations. Cheers!

All of the food was fantastic- you won't be disappointed but here are my tips: Make a REZ! You'll need a rez unless you're taking your chances on the bar seating (small inside bar seating- more outside but weather dependent) We booked a high top for two and sat outside looking at the water (request that!) Ask for the vegetarian menu when they seat you, even if you aren't strictly a vegetarian bcuz you'll have more options- I was about to cobble together a meal (I'm veg) from the shared plates/apps of vegetables when my husband asked if they had vegetarian meals- those are offered in the dessert menu for some reason and not offered upon seating- so happy he asked bcuz the ramp pasta was AMAZING I would've been so disappointed when the dessert menu arrived afterwards to learn I could've had a large plate Cocktails were great- Purple Rain is all you need! If carrots and zucchini apps are offered, get them both and a focaccia and you'll have extra bread spread for the veggies too Most ppl seemed to be ordering the bison burger but my husband went for the steak- they do not ask you how you want it cooked but present it cooked to perfection so trust them All desserts looked good- we split the butterscotch budino, which was awesome but very overwhelmed by the heavy toffee topping, which was delicious as well- like two desserts in one Brook, our server, is absolutely the cutest & friendliest & makes you want to come back!

Our server Lisa was so warm and friendly (as if she was your mother) and took great care of us! Got the parmesan topped whitefish with creamy mushroom soup and coleslaw. The mushroom soup was creamy and hearty. I liked the coleslaw - just the right amount of sweet and sour for me. I enjoyed the fish very much. We would have gotten some desserts but we were so full. We did see that the cheesecake slices were huge! Would definitely recommend this place!

To place a carry out order, you must come inside and sit down at a table, then tell your server that you want to place a to go order. Lisa was helpful, told me the order would be out pretty quickly, and she brought me a glass of water for while I waited. I ordered the mackinaw burger with onion rings, and hot ham and cheese with fries. I also ordered a coconut cream pie and a Dutch cherry pie slice. All of this was to go, and she packed it up and brought me carry-bags for it. The coconut cream pie was good. The Dutch cherry was ok but, I have had better. The French fries were good--crispy and lightly seasoned. The onion rings were large and hot/fresh, but they are battered (I prefer breaded), and they are pretty greasy. The burger was nice sized and cooked well done, which I like. It came with cheese, lots of pickles, relish, lots of mustard, and just a little ketchup. The hot ham and cheese was okay. I chose white bread rather than rye or wheat. The bread was not special--seemed like white bread you'd buy at any grocery in a plastic wrapper. There's an up-charge for the onion rings. I say skip that and get the fries. For the 2 sandwiches, 1 with fries, one with onion rings, and 2 pieces of pie, my bill was $51.36 before any tip added on. I get that it's a short season up north here, so I expect everything to be a little pricey. If the burger had a bit of char and came on an upscale bun, if the hot ham and cheese came on a thicker toasted bread, I'd say ok. But for what we got, it was overpriced.
