I wanted to explain this review bc it still pisses me off, but my initial review was from a place of anger and frustration and makes no sense. Side note: 10 years later...The doctor was great and i have a scar but it's barely noticeable. My experience with the medical staff was memorable and very good. This review was for the office staff that processed insurance claims. This charge was for them to take my stitches out. I got hurt while at work, this clinic refused to process my claim under workman's comp because they didn't believe that I deserved workman's comp for the injury I had (that's what they literally told me). Despite having my information and me begging them to process my claim under workman's comp they sent me to collections a year later. I was 24, making $30k a year ($24k after taxes living in Austin Texas is poverty level) I was so incredibly poor that I needed this workman's comp to cover this injury more than anything and they refused based on their own opinions of the matter. That's what this was all about. Im sure these people don't even work there anymore but this was so insane I had to keep the review. read more

Friendly and accommodating front office. Dr. Mary Parker is always pleasant to see, and she is very attentive to concerns you have. She takes care of each concern with lots of attention. Dr. Parker also checks for anything else she notices. When I saw her recently, she removed 3 pre cancer spots on my nose that I did not know I had. She is very observant. I started seeing Dr. Parker when I first moved to Austin and she is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. She does a fantastic job listening, diagnosing, and explaining the treatment plan to obtain results. You can tell she's passionate about dermatology. I recently started seeing Emily Murillo for IPL photofacials for rosacea and she is fantastic. She is a certified laser technician and has many years of experience as an esthetician. She will advise you on what treatment you actually need and will see results. She's very personable and wants her clients to see results. I went to Snyder Dermatology on the recommendation of my physician to examine a new spot. My insurance should have covered the visit. Now, over TWO years later I receive a threatening email claiming I never paid my out of pocket cost and that it was going to be sent to collections. Of course I don't have the same insurance, nor did I ever receive an electronic bill or have any paper records of this mystery bill. Given I don't like surprise bills from visits over 2 years ago, I definitely will not be returning to Snyder again. read more

I highly recommend the Snyder Dermatology group and their staff. I saw Dr. Renee Snyder for botox and I have to say it was THE least painful experience I have had in the past decade since I started doing botox. The best part was even though I take fish oil, I still had ZERO bruising. That too is a first for me. Dr. Snyder was prompt and friendly. She made sure I received just enough botox so as to not lose my expressions and to only lose the lines. The front desk was so friendly and helpful, the Medical Assistant, and Check out as well. Be warned, don't buy their cosmetic service packages. Have been seeing Emily for IPLs for years and always pay in advance for their IPL packages. Was on a medication last year that kept me from using the latest package I purchased because of a potential bad reaction. Ready to resume but was just informed my package expired even though no one ever mentioned these packages can expire. Hadn't even used one service from it. They claim it was noted in the financial agreement I signed like 5+ years ago. They would rather lose a client than honor three 15 minute appointments. Feel like I've been scammed. I these gals. I had a rare infection in my skin that was misdiagnosed at my previous dermatologist. I came here and we started with a biopsy and they got me going on some medication. It was a WILD ride but the doctor would call to check on my progress and would adjust schedules for me to come in when necessary. They were very very diligent! I love these folks! read more

Extremely unhappy with my treatment at Snyder Dermatology. I went in for moderate acne that began forming after moving to Texas and the PA, Hannah, prescribed tretinoin and clindamycin phosphate. The tretinoin absolutely wrecked my face and turned my acne from moderate to extremely severe. It gave me deep cystic acne when I've never had anything close to that before (even after sticking it out to get through "purge" phase). during my follow-up she tried to push Accutane on me. It caught me way off guard because there definitely could have been other options before going straight to Accutane, a medication with potentially harmful long term effects. I will not be going back to Snyder ever again and will surely be finding a dermatologist who is better trained to deal with my moderate acne. waste of time and money read more

Chapter 1: I scheduled an appointment for treatment on a Monday. Sunday evening before, i received a voicemail message canceling the appointment. Due to a scheduling error on Snyder Dermatology's part, they told me there was not enough time to perform the procedure, and thus I needed to reschedule. Frustrating, but mistakes happen, and the woman I spoke to for rescheduling was both apologetic and professional. Chapter 2: I arrived 8 minutes late for my rescheduled appointment. The receptionist told me my appointment had been canceled. I said "I cannot believe this is happening again. Why this time?" She said "You're ten minutes late so we canceled your appointment." We had a short back and forth in which I pointed out that I was a customer, and it surprised me she was so inflexible. She told me she "didn't care." I choose not to patronize businesses that don't care about their customers and hire staff who treat customers with disdain. After leaving The doctors office for a third time, it's time to post this review and let others know what I've experienced. .Without going into detail of my personal health history- I visited #Drsnyder to have several cysts removed. I have great insurance and Dr. Snyder's practice is in my Network. Each time I have left work early traveling from Leander to Central Austin. Unfortunately, she just doesn't seem to want to do this type of work. She actually questioned why I would want to have these cysts removed. I mentioned I have a long history of cancer in my family. It seems as though she was trying to convince me not to have these removed. Is this because my visit takes such a long time in the office? (Numbing alone takes 1/2 hour) I guess removing cysts aren't much of a moneymaker in comparison to fillers/ injections and cosmetic surgeries that are not covered by insurance? They have erroneously told me they didn't perform the 2nd cyst removal because their notes say that I was late. NOT TRUE. The Dr. Personally told me she could only remove one cyst per visit- per insurance guidelines. NOT TRUE. I have checked with the insurance company several times, with correct codes and all is covered in one office visit. I unfortunately canceled the second visit, and then after 15 minutes called to reschedule at the same time because my situation changed and they were already booked and had no time. QUESTIONABLE. They say the third visit they had me down for removing stitches only? Really ? Removing stitches after two months? Why wouldn't a medical doctor, want to remove a cyst that could potentially be cancerous, given my family history? After three visits, I have had one cyst removed. I should have had both cysts removed at visit number one. I did receive a phone call telling me the first cyst removed was benign. Dr Synder - your online "about us" statement is a very far cry from my experiences at your office. I was not there to fix a cosmetic problem, but a medical one. I was there to remove an anomaly before it potentially became dangerous to my health. ....our beautifully decorated, sprawling office....just doesn't matter to me. Staying healthy is more important. I also stopped to check out (after visit 2) and was told that I had no balance to pay. The third time I went into the office they would not take my appointment until I paid before the medical procedure. I've been using Snyder Dermatology for two years now, usually I am scheduled at the Round Rock location with Dr. Foley. My last appointment was with Dr.Snyder herself at the Austin location and the experience was so bad that I'm not even going to meet with Dr. Foley anymore because it benefits Snyder's business. I waited 40 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. (I know, this is typical now a days) I was there to have a cyst removed. (they knew that a week prior to the appointment) Dr.Snyder came in and without even looking at the cyst, told me she wouldn't do anything about it. I described the growth and the pain I was having and the response I received was "well yeah, that's what a Pilar cyst does" in a tone like a 15 year old girl being a brat. She then criticized two different employees in front of me to the point of degrading them. Very awkward to be in the room after that. Once Dr. Snyder left, one of the assistants read my face and said "yeah, isn't she just so funny?" I couldn't believe it. On top of it all, I now have a bill for $140 dollars after insurance for sitting in a room and nobody actually looking at my cyst. Horrible customer service. I was a patient of Dr. Parker's and she was perfectly fine, but the office administration is awful. Every time I had an appointment, there was some issue with my referral that they would notify me about less than 24 hours before my appointment. Two times, I had an active referral, but they just didn't have a physical copy of the letter, despite the fact the referral status is accessible to them. This past time, my referral did lapse--they notified me less than 24 hours. After calling my primary care physician's office, who assured me they would have a referral on file the next day and that it could be back dated five days, I was turned away from my appointment, which was made a year in advance. The receptionist told me that it was the "patient's responsibility to stay on top of their referral status" and that they would not see me until the referral actually came in. They failed to tell that they would refuse to see me when they called the day before and I took time away from work to show up to be turned away. Again, I will note, referrals can be back dated five days. I've never had such poor customer service from any other doctor's office and I am switching dermatologists as a result. read more

I was very sadden that she moved back to Austin, TX that's why I'm giving the 4 stars. I went to see Dr. Snyder about a mole on my breast, literally above my nipple. It grew bigger and bigger and I became very concerned. I went to get an initial screening and ended up waiting about 45 minutes in the room until she finally came in to see me. She was in the room for about 5 minutes and told me to come back in a month to see if it had gotten bigger and to do a biopsy. 2 weeks later it got bigger, so I rescheduled and came in right away. She did the biopsy right away and it wasn't too bad. She seems like a good doctor, dont get me wrong, but when you are sticking a needle in my nipple, a smile can't hurt you. She was cold, and as a previous review mentioned I felt like I was at the supermarket check in line. Anyway, the mole was extremely atypical and that was a month ago. I was supposed to get another incision to get the rest of it tomorrow by her husband, but apparently someone canceled it. I do not enjoy her assistant's attitude on the phone and wished she could be a bit more sympathetic to me. After all it was her mistake and it was her who canceled it, NOT Me. As for now, I am looking for another surgeon to do the incision and will never go back to Dr. Snyder. Sorry if that was cruel, but this whole situation really rubbed me the wrong way.. read more

I loved the particular fraxel machine that didn't hurt. I think I got some pretty good results. The doctor seemed skilled with her injections, also. The odd part was how the doctor thought a particular store in town could really change my skin with their special makeup. SHe said she shopped there herself and had really seen a difference. I went over there..it was pricey and useless "natural" stuff. They really "saw me coming". Later, I Found out the doctor herself was the owner of that makeup store?! yikes! There's got to be some professional ethics violated by a recommendation like that. read more

Dr. Snyder is extremely unprofessional. She is not rude by any means but she pays zero attention to what comes out of her mouth and frankly I don't think she cares (apparently im not the only reviewer who noticed this). I went in for Botox injections for hyperhidrosis and was told that they did in fact accept my insurance. When I went to pay they told me they could not file an insurance claim because it was a cosmetic procedure. I then informed them that although it is a cosmetic procedure and it is not typically covered by insurance companies, my insurance company did cover the procedure due to extremely rare circumstances. In fact they have been for almost ten years. Otherwise I wouldn't get the procedure done because it would cost me about 4k a year. They refused to file the claim and told me I had to do it myself. Due to the complicated nature of the claim I had ALOT of trouble doing it myself as I have zero experience with insurance claims. The office couldn't provide me the paperwork to complete the claim for whatever reason and I finally gave up and im paying off the bill. This all could have been avoided if they had just filed to freaking claim. And to put the cherry on top, the credit card I had on file for monthly payments started declining randomly a few months ago, causing several of my payments to not go through. I think they had the wrong card number because I use the card everyday without issues. I was never notified by the office. I had to hear about it several months later when I called them to make an inquiry about something else. How does a doctors office go several months without notifying a customer that their payments aren't going through? I set up direct payments for a reason. So I don't have to babysit my credit card bill or Dr. Snyders billing department. All in all bad experience. read more

I am SO, SO grateful I found Snyder Dermatology and Dr. Jennifer Aranda. I have seen multiple Dermatologists in the Austin area and none compare. I have worked with Dr. Aranda on ongoing issues and uncommon skin conditions and her level of care and attention is incredible. I have never felt embarrassed or like my concerns were not valid. Every visit, her priority is making you feel better and making sure your skin and body are as healthy as possible. Even when she has a full schedule she gives you 100% of her attention and is always extremely sincere. Not to mention, she is a PRO at non-invasive biopsies. She hardly ever leaves a scar and removes the smallest amount of skin possible. She goes above and beyond, gives you samples of new products to try and does everything in her power to give you peace of mind. She and her assistants and the entire Snyder Dermatology staff, are extremely professional and accommodating. I wish I could see Dr. Aranda for every medical need or concern! The Good: :: location. the office is located centrally, so it's good for people who live near the hyde park and campus area :: the office is really really nice, clean, and modern feeling. this is a rare thing to find. most doctors' offices are dreary, dark, musty, and depressing. :: huge waiting room area :: plenty of interesting magazines to help you pass the waiting time :: good waiting room music that doesn't time-warp you :: dr renee snyder is thorough and didn't take any chances with my skin condition. she didn't just do a cursory glance around, she took some skin samples and a biopsy and had it sent off to the labs. :: dr snyder was also very communicative during the visits. she gave me a what she thought it was and also a worst case scenario of what it could be. this is important b/c it gave me confidence she knew what she was doing. communication from a doctor seems to be a rare thing these days so i welcomed it gladly :: dr snyder was very straightforward. i like that a lot. some people might be offended by it, but i respect it and welcome it. :: i felt complete confidence in dr snyder and that is also another rare thing to find in doctors these days. :: the staff is very friendly and checked on me, and that was nice The Bad: :: no free or validated parking The Ugly: :: none Would I go back?
