Went for cyst removal, and had an absolutely first class treatment. The previous doctor (different practice) had removed it once, brusquely and inadequately. When I called up there upse they turned it around and it was my fault for being upset and that the procedure was done correctly which it was not. I don't know anything about the doctor, but I know that office is the worst doctor's office I've dealt with. I booked my appointment online in January for today. I got a call from a rude receptionist yesterday asking for a deposit payment. Her tone was very impatient and short. She wanted me to pull out my credit card to make a payment. I told her I wasn't available then because I was in the middle of something at work, but I'd make it once I was ready. She sent a link and I made the payment. I received a notification of the payment. This morning I was running 10 minutes behind so I called the office. No one picked up so I left a voicemail to notify them of my tardiness. I arrive, and I tell them my name. The receptionist looks up and says: you're going to have to come back at a later date because we don't gave you in our system. The next available date is May... I cut her off immediately and asked her for a refund. I'm tired of staff from doctors' office being inconsiderate of my time. It's already hard finding a detm as a Black woman in this city, and I don't know why I expected this to be a pleasant experience to begin with. read more

Good luck finding quality care when the office is constantly closed and when it's impossible to obtain an appointment. There are many many more quality options for dermatology offices in Austin. I had to have a squamous mass removed. The last time I went to a plastic surgeon to do the surgery. Because he had such a long wait, I ended up having Dr. Nguyen do the surgery also. Two months post op, you cannot see the scar- it is amazing! It was basically the exact procedure the plastic surgeon had done a couple months before on the other leg and the difference is night and day. Dr. Nguyen is an amazing surgeon! read more

I came to Faraday as a new patient needing my psoriasis medication refilled; it has to be reapproved by a doctor every year to maintain a prescription. I came in for a 10 minute appointment in February to explain what I need, after the blood results came back all the office needed to do was send a fax and talk to the insurance company to get me approved. Six months later I still did not have my medication despite begging Faraday to please approve it with my insurance company; they do not answer the phone and no one would speak to with an insurance representative. By this time, having no medication, my previously 100% cured psoriasis was back in full swing, but starting over with another dermatologist would just give Humana more excuses to fuck up and I had already paid Faraday. I FINALLY got the first shipment last month and its the wrong dosage and they refuse to fix it. They are very interested in getting the additional $9 they tacked on to the original $150 bill I already paid in exchange for them faxing the application. Just completely worthless and unprofessional. read more

Parking is very easy and the location of her office is on the side of the building and somewhat hidden from first glance. All major insurances were taken and had no issues! Dr. Farady is a very helpful and sweet dermatologist. My first visit was kind of awkward mainly because of the concerns I had, but she was very calm and non-judgmental and took good care of me without making me feel any worse. She even gave me a little discount to help the fact that I'm self insured, and talked to me about options for keeping healthy skin. I will definitely come back to her for all my skin care needs. Dr. Farady's office is wonderful! I have been lucky in that I've only needed to go once or twice over the past two years for medical concerns, but when I did Dr. Farady offered great, professional and very effective care. I highly recommend her if you have skin concerns. Recently I decided to try laser treatments for some stubborn red spots on my face. David did the procedure and the results have exceeded my expectations! In just two treatments my trouble spot is GONE, and my skin is looking immensely more even and clear. It's obvious that David has many years of experience, and his easy going personality is a big bonus. I'd also like to mention that the front desk staff is very helpful, and they get an A++ in communication. I prefer to set up appointments via email. I've been to her twice so far. One time, last year I went for a skin check. It was okay, not great not bad. Mostly, I'm off put because she has really odd bedside manner. I'm fairly sure if I did have skin cancer, she would say it very bluntly and leave the room right after. It's a gorgeous office but she may need some quick lessons on working with humans. I know this is pretty common for MD's but it's also an important part of the service to me. Recently, I went in for some concerns on my face, and she diagnosed me with a very weird diagnosis without even looking at my skin or listening to any other symptoms. I literally spoke 1-2 sentences and she wrote me a prescription for something I am 99.99% sure I don't have. Friendly office and great products available. I am sure all the cosmetic treatments are great which I'd like to try sometime. I'll definitely be getting a second opinion elsewhere in the meantime though! read more

My experience with Dr. Farady and her staff has been about as positive as I could hope. I was referred to Dr. Farady by my GP due to persistent skin issues, the source of which baffled my doctor. While the office is very pretty and spa-like, I cannot emphasize enough that this is a professional medical office first and foremost. Dr. Farady was open and frank with me about my issues, treating me like an adult. She thoroughly explained the testing that was being done, the treatment options, and what I could expect to experience. While she is a skilled practitioner of traditional medicine, she takes a holistic approach as well, treating the systems as well as the symptoms. Her staff, right from the office staff to the nurses, have been professional, friendly, and helpful. I can't think of anything that I would change. I went back to get on an Accutane, even though I felt like they waisted my time previously I didn't want to do the new patient dance at a another place, and they're really close to my house. After talking about it I decided I'll just try all the alternative stuff they wanted me to take. So here's where I'm at now. They have me on Fish oil, some herbal thing called "Naturally clear" which has tons of vitamin A and a micodose of doxycycline. For topical I'm using Acanya Gel during the day and Tretinoin at night. It's a pain to keep up, but it's actually working amazingly, I haven't been this clear since I was 10, and I'm 37 now. Still, the nurse kind of went off on all this stuff while being oblivious that I didn't care, and it took 40 minutes when it should have taken 10, but still hey, I'm clear! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Farady for a few years now and I have to say I've never been so comfortable at a Dermatologist office. The girls up front are always really professional in scheduling my appointments (and handling my insurance changes)! I never have to wait too long until I am taken back to my room and the waiting room doesn't feel stuffy like most offices either! I have dysplastic moles, which means I have to go every year to get them checked out for cancer. Dr. Farady has removed a few moles for me and I have to say it is relatively painless! Dr. Farady is very friendly and never forces me into any awkward chit chat. She is fairly straight to the point, which I really like! I never leave her office feeling confused about anything that has gone on during my appointment. She answers my questions very clearly. Her office also uses tablets for their patient notes, which is pretty neat and I feel it speeds up her work compared to having to return back to a computer every few moments. I have a rare condition and she did extra research then called me after my appointment with more suggestions for further testing. Let me first say, I get the whole idea of holistic medicine and promoting a more natural balance. I'm all for that. However, I walked away from Dr. Faraday's office with the same feeling as when I shop for a car. It felt sleazy and judgmental. David (the nurse) should be running this place! He gets all 5 stars! He deserves better than this place. He was honest, understanding, never ever judgmental about my lifestyle, food choices, diet, etc. He showed tons of empathy! Let's start! David came out and welcomed me with a huge smile and showed me my room. He asked about my history and LISTENED to me about my chronic back-ne. He offered some suggestions and never PUSHED his agenda on me. He gave me choices -- including generics and over-the-counter options that may work and are inexpensive. Then Dr. Farady came in and it all went downhill from there. She asked about my history. I told her about my chronic back-ne. She asked about my medication my previous dermatologist prescribed and before I could even finish my sentence she interrupted me with a disgusted look on her face saying, "Oh no, you need to get off that, it's terrible for you...". I replied, "Oh okay, what would you recommend?" David jumped in and said, "I told her about these certain creams that I think might help. I'd love to give her some samples so she could try it." She looked at him like he just lost millions of dollars for the practice. She said "Why don't we just prescribe it to her instead of giving her samples?" David said, "Well let's give her a chance to try the samples to see if they work." She ROLLS HER EYES and said, "Okay...I guess we can do that..." We continue on. Dr. Farady asked about my diet. Let me make it clear that I am a clean eater, I exercise daily, and I care about my health more than a lot of people (my husband is a holistic dietician). I tell her that I'd eat healthy and would sometimes treat myself to some ice cream or cake every now and then. She got on this high horse about how dairy is completely bad for you and how I need to completely get rid of dairy and sugar. I'll end this review with this: Dr. Farady, please work on your bedside manner. I get that you own a business and make money on selling/promoting certain items and I am ALL FOR supporting those items if they work. However, it is completely unprofessional to make such rash conclusions about people, interrupting them when they're talking, and even roll your eyes in an appointment. David, my dear sweet David. I love you so much and I really wish we could talk more about my acne and some more solutions you may recommend. I loved you so much! I wish you the very best and if you are happy working there, then I am happy for you! Unfortunately, I will never be back to this practice. I hope our paths cross again, David. Consulted with Dr. Farady last winter. Her office is clean and professional and has a friendly front office staff. The doctor herself has limited hours, so when I wanted to consult with her again but could not, I ended up exploring her old practice at Balcones Dermatology. However, I returned to Dr. Farady's office months later to do laser hair removal. her esthetician Meredith was exceptionally good. Very clear and thorough in her instruction, an empathetic personality with an attentive manner. I have had good results and the treatment pricing is competitive. I recommend Meredith for laser hair removal at this practice. Plenty of parking in the lot. read more

I saw Dr Farady in April this year after dealing with light but constant acne problem. I'm 30 now and felt like it was time to put an end on those pimples and constant need for make up as they come and go depending on my cycle. Overall in the last 10 years I always had some sort of acne on my face and it was a source of permanent frustration and self-consciousness. I was able to get an appointment with Dr Farady for the same week (most places in the area were booked for a month ahead). The place is pretty small but cozy, I was seen right on time and was charged exactly what I was told I will be paying with my insurance. Those things are important to me. Nurse Sarah (I hope I spelled it right) was very sweet and gave me a paper with dietary recommendations. This place in general made me feel like they prefer natural way of fixing things rather than some invasive or hard core chemical procedures. Dr Farady saw me shortly after and prescribed 2 lotions (1 was Retin-A) and she also checked the skin for moles even though it was not the purpose of my visit. She gave me a coupon for discount for my lotions and gave some good advice on how to avoid drying your skin with those anti-acne treatments. Now, after a little over 3 month of using the lotions I can almost say I forgot about my acne. I get sun sensitive sometimes and a little dry every now and then but the problem I was dealing with for my whole life is pretty much gone. I'm so grateful and happy. I strongly recommend this place to everyone for a happy ending of your acne troubles. read more

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Farady, and she's by far the best derm I've ever been to. I went in for a yearly skin check, but also because I've had serious thyroid health issues this past year which have really taken their toll on my skin. Dr. Farady was awesome. While very thoroughly checking me over, we talked about my other issues and how to heal them naturally -- not once did she mention antibiotics, steroids, or any skin care line that she personally sells in office. Her suggestions were basically diet changes, and natural vitamins and supplements, all of which I can go buy on my own. She also sent me home with bags full of samples that can be purchased at CVS and Walgreens. No product pushing. I felt that she was genuinely interested and concerned with my health and wanted to help. It's so nice to finally find a dermatologist who understands and agrees with alternative and integrative medicine. I will definitely be back. read more

I had been to multiple dermatologists in several cities, including a ritzy one that shall not be named in Austin that encouraged me to purchase expensive light therapies and the like. Fed up, I switched to Dr. Farady and was amazed at how quickly she and her staff, especially David, fixed my multitude of skin issues: -Acne: I had tried literally every treatment including Accutane and every topical cream ever. I spoke with David for what seemed like an hour about my entire skin regimen and he recommended a brand new regimen, including only one prescription for Acanya (which has a manufacturer's coupon and is available for ~$35, not $500 like mentioned in another comment, way worth it), as well as some products available at any grocery store or pharmacy. David took the time to tell me how to exfoliate, when to moisturize, etc. and was realistic about the expectations I should have about my skin. As long as I follow the regimen, I haven't really had any issues and my skin looks better than ever. -Moles: Dr. Farady has done annual skin checks on me and is no-BS when it comes to moles. I had one where she could have insisted removal and gotten paid, but she left the decision up to me and said that though the mole was a bit odd, it didn't look dangerous and we could watch it for another year or so. I opted to have it removed anyway and it was benign. I appreciate her openness. -Yeast: Have you ever seen folks at the gym in summer with white-ish splotches on their backs and arms? This happened to me and I learned it is a common Texas ailment that occurs when there is a buildup of yeast on the skin due to excess moisture in the atmosphere combined with working out. The white splotches appear because the yeast-y skin won't tan like surrounding skin. A simple antifungal regimen and antifungal shampoo cleared this up for me. -Acid burn: I had a crazy looking splatter of brownish spots on my hand one time, and Dr. Farady quickly diagnosed it over the phone as an acid burn which occurred because I drank a Corona with lime on the Fourth of July and the lime juice dripped onto my hands, which were then in the sun. I was strongly encouraged to do a better job at sunscreen application. Happy to recommend Dr. Farady's team to anyone. David is the first person who really understood what it was like to have bad skin and wanted to help me improve mine. read more

I've been going to this office for about 10 years for cosmetic things like IPL from Nurse David and fillers from Dr. Farady. They are both very thorough and professional. The atmosphere in the office is friendly and low-key. There's no pressure to get any particular procedures done. They just do their best to accomplish what I've asked for. Their prices seem more reasonable than other places that do similar things. They stay on top of the latest equipment, techniques and products, and customize them to the patient's personal situation.
