However, the…read moregym has becoming increasingly crowded and members use the walking areas to spread out equipment so it becomes very difficult to move about the gym easily. The two small mat areas for stretching are crowded and often times unavailable. I often see coaches chit chatting on the mats and taking up space that could be used for workouts. The movable equipment like the boxes often are filled with personal item like phone and headsets so it's not easy to just grab what you need easily. Several times over the past few months the gym has had no hot water and/or no steam. I utilize the gym before work so this is a major issue. In fact as a write this just received a notification of no hot water. ‍ The sign up part was awesome, with Equinox providing guests passes, gift receipts for the store etc....ending the membership, however, has been painful. I started the process a week ago and my email wasn't on file despite providing all of my info thru the signup process. When I attempted to end my membership thru the email provided it had expired only two days later. Calling back, had to provide my email again. Went thru the cancellation process only to encounter an "error" at the end. Attempted several additional times with same result. Called the club and was informed a "report" had to be made and sent to the general manager for approval. What? My husband is now encountering the same shenanigans. No email on file, no address blah blah. The Equinox front desk manager was rude and condescending saying "I'm sorry mame" over and over. Extremely disingenuous attitude and tone as if just to get me off the phone and not genuinely sorry. Overall an awful experience. Beware, this is a hotel California membership.

My son participated in a 4 day camp in Seal Beach. A total of 9 kids attended, which obviously, is…read moremuch smaller than expected. The camp was not well structured and several of the coaches left well before the camp ended. The last hour of each day was dedicated to activities in the workout/physical fitness/weight room. A separate fitness trainer managed this effort. On the first day he showed up for 30 mins of the hour. The 2nd day was less than 15 mins of the hour and was a no show on the 3rd and 4th day. The basketball coaches sat in the room with the kids and told them to do what they wanted. Horrible. IMO, certainly not worth the $$.

Westlake Athletic Club is the exact opposite - easy in and out, never over crowded (at least the gym; the pool sometimes fills up). Great place to work out.

Your dog can run, and be outside at the Brewery afterwards. We had the option of a 3, 4 or 5 mile run. Those going 3 miles take a short break as the 4 mile group continues a bit further. My son has attended Kids in Motion summer camp for 5 years. He's a fifth grader now and already…read morethe thing he is most excited about is attending Coach Russell's camp with his friends! He is counting the years until he will be eligible to be a CIT. When I asked my son why he likes Coach Russell and Kids in Motion so much he said "it is the best camp because there is something for everyone and everyone is included. If you like sports and games there are lots to play. If you want to do art or trading cards you can also do those activities." While my son didn't use the word inclusive, I think what he was getting at and what I have seen is that Coach Russell and his exceptional staff create such a sense of inclusivity, of excitement and of belonging among their campers and within the community. Other things my son (and I!) love about camp--there's a super great variety of activities each day including water slides and other fun adventures. Kids are grouped very thoughtfully by age/grade level into groups so there's not a big range of ages. It feels very safe and secure to me as a parent but kids also get a chance to meet other kids who are similar in terms of age. We always run into Coach Russell camp campers around town after the summer is over! On a more practical note, Coach Russell is also extremely responsive to email, extremely organized and great at communication! If you're looking for a day camp opportunity in the Conejo Valley Kids in Motion is just the best!

There are multiple swims each day. CVMM is also great for cycling and running training. I first joined for the swimming and found myself enjoying the team atmosphere for the running and cycling as well. Coach Nancy and her team of coaches are award winning and distinguished.
