So Korean Grill was so yummy!! The food came out super fast and the employees were super friendly. I got the bulgogi and the yuk gae jang (spicy beef stew) and they were so delicious! The banchan were perfect as well. I highly recommend!

I dine in with a party of 6 including kids on a Sunday night. To my surprise, it was quiet! There are only 2-3 other tables along with ours. The restaurant is pretty clean and does have a great ventilation because there are barely any BBQ smells! The server basically cooked the food for us the entire dinner in an order. She even cut the meats into smaller pieces for my kids. That is definitely very considerate and caring. We did a combo set and add a galbi dish. The combo set comes with steam eggs, a bibimbap hot pot / white rice, different amount of meats and chicken, squid, etc. Majority of the meats seem marinated but to be honest, I think they are still not flavorful enough. Other places seem to have a better taste and meat quality than here. Overall not bad, but just missing that flavor and texture.

    One bite!

This is one of the better Korean bbq restaurants in Philly I food is delicious and I love all the side dishes and what the set BBQ menus have to offer including the egg soufflé and bibimbap. As for the service they are very attentive and the staff will help with grilling if you are not used to the Korean bbq concept of grilling and eating at the same time. The restaurant is located next to a H mart and there's ample parking.

Let me preface this by saying I come here often. Loved it here until my most recent experiences. Both times I ordered the premium galbi (I always order this) and the last two times our server overcooked the meat, making it super dry, tough and honestly inedible. First time I didn't say anything, I just let it go. Today, same thing happened and I brought it up to the staff. The server tried to gaslight me by saying I ordered pork so it was going to be drier than the other meat I ordered (beef sirloin). I then reiterated, no, I ordered the premium galbi - it's beef, I order this all the time. She then proceeds to say that because the premium galbi is not marinated, it's drier than the sirloin. I honestly didn't even try to explain any further because there was a communication barrier so I just let it go. Got our bill, paid full price and still tipped 20%. And just so we are clear, I never asked for my meat to be cooked well done. Wish we could have rectified the situation in a better manner, but unfortunately I will not be returning.

Haven't had Korean BBQ in years so this was a delicious and affordable treat. The old school/traditional interior creates a quaint atmosphere. Ended up ordering Set A which was more than enough for two people. Pounds of meat and an abundance of side made a delectable evening (plus soju). Fun experience cooking your own food and the wait staff is extremely helpful and gave great tips. (My have overcooked a few items) Awesome date night spot. A big bonus is that there's an H Mart right next door so you can do some shopping before or after!

Pretty good but not my favorite. I wish there were just beef or just pork options. The best korean bbq i've ever had in pennsylvania would probably be Mr.Pig.

If you're looking for a good place to eat some Korean bbq, then So Korean Grill is definitely worth a trip. The restaurant is tucked next to H-Mart. The restaurant was clean and modern in terms of layout. Grills are also modern where the smoke is pulled under the grill so you don't smell like Korean bbq afterwards. The menu offers different sets from A-C, where each set offers the perfect amount of food per person. My party of 6 went with set B and ordered galbi a la carte on the side. Eat of the meats and dishes were fresh and deliciously seasoned. My favorite was the spicy squid and the spicy pork. Both had a great spicy kick. The galbi was also super flavorful and definitely worth a try. Wait staff was super helpful and kind. They were very insightful and helped us chose a good option for our party. Definitely recommend!

We got the set for two people that come with rice and steamed egg. The waiters were all very attentive and would cook for us as needed. I also needed more lettuce and garlic but they gave it with no hesitation.

My friends and I were a group of 5 people, and we came to So Korean Grill one night for dinner. We ordered Set B, which serves 3-4 people, and added on an extra order of egg souffle and some seafood pancakes. The banchan were unlimited, and the staff refilled them upon request. The meats were fresh, high-quality, well-marinated, tender, and not overly salty. All of the food was so good. It was a lot of food, and we were so satisfyingly stuffed. If everyone is extremely hungry, then Set B is good for 3-4 people. Otherwise, Set B with some add-ons is a good amount for 4-5 people. Despite it being super busy and short-staffed, the staff did a great job. The service was a little slow, but they were really great about consistently changing out the grills. They also helped with grilling and cutting the meat. So Korean Grill is located in the same plaza as H Mart and is super convenient for getting groceries and a meal in one visit. It is not AYCE KBBQ, but the meat is really good. It is a pricey meal, but it is worth the money.

Very nice Korean bbq with lots on the menu apart from the barbecue. Has a few drink options but the focus is on the tasty food. Combo set for 4 has lots of choices of proteins and meats, and also includes many veggie plates as well. All come with miso soup and salad to start with. Great staff friendly to help you and make the experience better. Interior is cozy sectional areas, and it was nice and clean. Thanks

A premium korean BBQ experience. I came here with 3 other people and we got the 3-4 persons course meal. It came out to be ~$205/210 total after tax. It is quite pricey but the meat was pretty good quality. When we arrived, we were immediately seated. The food came out within 3-4 minutes after we ordered; everything was placed on our table. Our group would have preferred if the waitress did not place everything straight onto the grill, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The meat is good quality with decent marbling, but it didn't blow my mind especially for the price. However, they give you so much food and variety. My friends and I were all stuffed. The marinades are well balanced, salty yet sweet (2-3 meats were marinaded). I would come again!

This is the best Korean bbq I ever had in Philadelphia! We came in 4 people and were ordered the set for $168 serve 3-4. Everything came out so fast that we didn't even have much time to take pictures lol. We were so busy eating. Everything starting from the miso soup, salad, side dishes and bibimbap, they were delicious. Especially the egg soufflé is to die for. I scraped every bit of it off the pot lol. And that one particular sauce, we all like it so much, it made with wasabi and/or sesame oil. It was so bomb when you dipped with grilled meats. The set that we ordered came with a little bit of everything in the menu. We had pork ribs, ribeye, marinated chicken, pork, shrimp, squids, bulgogi, pork belly, and more. Services are excellent! Staffs are very attentive and helpful. They cooked everything for us. All you have to do is eating lol. Everything was flavored perfect with the right amounts of food, we finished everything because it was so good. I highly highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed! It's definitely a hidden gem in North Philly, just right next door to the new H-Mart on N Front Street. We will definitely be returning!

Spacious and clean. But server was bit slow Took awhile to serve us even water. And multiple servers came to table. No consistency. We order set A $75 which is for 2 people. It would have been better with set if it comes with rice and daenjang jjigae. But we got little bit of different type of meat And they gave us plenty refills for everything we need.

The waiter was nice and helpful with the menu. She gave me time to decide what I wanted to order. I ordered the Half Rack Ribs and a small order of Baked Beans with a Yuengling beer. We ordered their: (1) brisket (rating 2.0/5) -- This was quite dry. I was also surprised to see only 3 small slices after ordering a half pound. After seeing Mike's show up constantly whenever people online ask about Philly's best BBQ, I was greatly disappointed. (2) brisket cheese steak (rating 4.0/5) -- This was better than the brisket by itself. The cheese and other condiments likely helped with the dryness, so this was decent, although a bit small. This was maybe a little too salty, but I liked the bread. (3) mac and cheese (rating 3.5/5) -- Not the best mac and cheese I've ever had, but not bad either. Decently cheesy with good flavor. I'd say it's slightly above average. (4) cole slaw (rating 1.5/5) -- Strongly tasted of vinegar and even seemed a bit spicy. It was weird. (5) cornbread (rating 4.0/5) -- To be honest, I like most cornbread, even the cheap kind from a pre-made mix and fast food cornbread. So while I enjoyed the cornbread here too, it wasn't my favorite. I prefer the outer layer to be crispier and it could have been less crumbly on the inside. Service Notes: This is a fast casual place and service was fine. Food came out quite fast. TLDR: No way this is considered the best BBQ in Philly. They were mediocre at best and also fairly expensive for the amount you get, so my hunt continues for a great local BBQ place.

I really liked the location and ambiance of Fette Sau. The chicken was outstanding--moist, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also enjoyed the ribs. They were huge, tender, and very tasty. Unfortunately, there were several disappointments, which is why Fette Sau only earns 3 stars from us. When it comes to brisket, I'm not accustomed to BBQ restaurants serving almost exclusively the point cut or fat cap. We ordered a pound of brisket and could only eat about a quarter of it because it was simply too fatty for our taste. We strongly prefer the flat cut, which can still be incredibly moist and flavorful when prepared well. A combination of both cuts would have been fine, but receiving mostly fat was a major letdown. The large mac and cheese side easily fed the three of us, but it was very dry and lacked flavor. The cornbread muffin was similarly disappointing--dry and bland. I'm glad we took the time to visit because the atmosphere, chicken, and ribs were enjoyable, but given the brisket and sides, I don't see us returning.

I can't go often, since it's not that close to me, but when I go, I typically order the rib platter. I typically get the same sides (beans and mac n cheese) along with cornbread. It is certainly more deserving than my initial 3 star review on my successive visits, but I never updated my review. Not everyone will love the sauce, which tastes more tomato-based, but that's okay. As I've gotten older, I appreciate it more. It's almost like... they put... ketchup... in the sauce... and if that's what it is, I'm fine with it. It tastes good. The ribs on that initial visit were tough; that's not a lie. On three visits afterwards, it was not as tough as the first time. On my most recent visit today, the ribs were really, really tender. Like... this is how tender ribs should be. The only difference between my experiences before versus now is I placed a takeout order this time whereas I always ate at the restaurant before. If takeout will always yield the freshest, most tender ribs, I'm good with ordering takeout from now on. The ribs were tender to the point of being delicate. They were SO GOOD. Even the rib that looked like it could've been tough was tender. That's how you know ribs are good. I would give 5 stars for just the ribs alone, but aha... there were more items... baked beans... SO GOOD... they have sausage bits in them. Cornbread... baked fresh and cut in front of my eyes... WARM, SOFT, FLUFFY.... SOoo GOOOOD... the mac n cheese... well, ehhh... can't win them all... it was just mac n cheese. I have to remember to order something other than mac n cheese next time, but I always forget because I don't go here often enough. Still, this is a 5 star meal all the way and I look forward to more meals like this. I thought I had to drive over to Camden all this time to get tender ribs. Let's say that all again... the ribs are damn good... tender and juicy. Yums. Go get some. Parking lot on the premises. Hope you get the same experience I just did.

(About $28) Everything was very good...but the spicy greens really stood out...like nothing I ever had before. The meal also came with cornbread, which was really good. There is a little condiment bar on the side with lots of sauces and other items including pickles, peppers, onions, pickled onions and cinnamon honey butter (for your cornbread of course). We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

I'm not sure if the server was new but she didn't seem very familiar with their menu, though she did say she'd ask if we had questions. I ordered a $19 cocktail and asked them to make it less sweet but it was still very sweet and syrupy, so I didn't even really drink it. We ordered the hanging bacon for $19 which I was excited about. For the price and hype, I kind of thought it would be fancy or thick-cut bacon, but it was just regular thin bacon like you get at the grocery store. I will say it was cooked well, the sweet habanero sauce was excellent, and the cornbread underneath the bacon was good too. Just seemed kind of overpriced and hyped. I tried to order the bacon and lobster Alfredo. The server came back and said they were out of lobster so I asked for another menu. My friend tried to order the burnt ends entree, but they were out of that, too. They were out of asparagus so the server said they would substitute broccoli instead. We ordered the blackened salmon that was supposed to have a mango salsa topping. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus (sub broc). However, it was plain when it got dropped off and I later asked the server about the salsa and was told they were out of salsa as well. I ended up using the habanero sauce that came with the hanging bacon to add a little flavor to the dish. It would have been a nice mention when they dropped the food off instead of me having to ask for it. The other entree we got was like a braised pork on mashed potatoes with cornbread. The server said "that comes with asparagus so would you like the broccoli instead?" I told her, "the menu doesn't say it comes with that but if so, I guess sub the broccoli." When she brought that dish to us, she said "I asked the chef to put broccoli on because you asked for it." I was annoyed because I already had told her the menu didn't say anything about a vegetable with that dish. They did charge me $3 extra for the "added" broccoli. It wasn't the price, but that the server was not knowledgeable about the menu, offered me something I questioned her specifically about, and then charged me extra for it as if I asked for it. I would like to reiterate, though, that she was very sweet throughout. The lack of menu items on a menu that isn't that big, and has some repeats between the appetizers and entrees, was laughable by the end. The food that we did get was cooked well and tasted fine, but was pretty basic and in my opinion, overpriced for what it was. I think it would avoid confusion and disappointment if the server told you what they were out of when you sat down, so you could make an informed menu choice, as I've had this happen at other restaurants where it was not a big deal that they were out of a dish or item. But this place was out of so many things on a Thursday night. I was really hoping this would be a regular neighborhood place for me, but I will not be back.

Met one of the owners Justin and he and staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating if they tried. They have an event space above the restaurant and the whole vibe was amazing. Unique menu.... items a little pricey, but well worth the taste! Stopped in for brunch, but would love to be back for dinner! Would definitely recommend.
